Unlock rooted s3 - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi, I rooted my s3 with odin but I think that I only rooted it rather than unlocking the bootloader as well, how can I now unlock the bootloader so that I can try some custom Roms? Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium

Did you install CWM or other recovery?
You could also try Mobile Odin from the market to install a custom ROM.

From the video that I watched it said that the clockworkmod was installed but I have no idea how to check this or to put it to use.
Thanks again

With phone off - hold down volume down+home+power buttons.
I would suggest you do lots of reading before flashing your first ROM.
This is a good thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426.

Hold that it has been installed, I found it in my app drawer. But what do I need to do with it?

Just to clarify, I used odin and CFROOT SGS3 V 6.4, so does this mean that I'm unlocked and ready to rock?

Yes you should be good. You could always post in the CF Root thread for assistance on that particular method.

You need to read before you brick your phone.

I would think you need to Odin a custom kernel/recovery then flash a super user.zip file. Also you would need to get the super user app from the playstote

Does official ota jelly bean work with leaked jb

I have a leaked version of jelly bean, will i be able to receive the official ota, i tried kies, but it says it is not compatible. I want the official update because this leak has some issues.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Why don't you wait a day until ROM developers rebuild the ROMs using the new official jellybean?
Then you'll have best of both worlds.
You cant update unless you are 100% stock UVALJ4.
You can flash the new FW though. Check my fw thread. Link in sig.
I highly recommend updating via Odin, or at least by OTA. If you just flash a rom you will not be getting the full update. The update applies to 10 different partitions and you will not get those by flashing a custom rom.
Just fyi, and if people are having strange problems this will be one of the first things I ask about.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
The answer to your question is no. I recommend using Odin to flash the stock file. There is also a stock file in the dev section that has root injected that you can flash via Odin.
Edit: Doc beat me to it lol

No, your phone is fine. Hold the power button until your phone turns off then let go and wait for it to turn back on. Then reboot back into recovery.
Edit: Never mind, brain fart. If you used Odin you're going to have to re flash recovery.

Is there any way to root galaxy s 3 for t mobile running 4.1.1 without a computer?

Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
As of right now, the only way to get root is with the use of the computer as of yet.
Being that seems to work pretty well I doubt there will be development to a root method without a computer.
Hmm, thanks for your feedback

Mobile odin requires root. So it can't be used to gain root.
Chainfire release a rooting method. I haven't tried it but have heard it works well. You still need Odin on a pc for any root procedure that I'm aware of.

Interesting. It's worth a shot OP. Worst case, it fails and you uninstall. If it is successful, you can install mobile odin, then get the latest gb27 tar, and money. While you're at it, you will have to flash a cwm custom jb kernel, since you're on ics, and, MO won't flash modems, you'll need a jb modem to use data on gb27. Download the zip though of the modem . Good luck, let us know how it goes.
