go to samsung.com an in the search spot type kies download install it could be bad or not installed prop. Drivers if still dont work put the phone into download mode see if the computer reconize it that way.

I've downloaded my drivers and Kias from the samsung website, and still doesn't make any differance at all, it's really strange, i'm starting to get worried, I have tried using anther usb cable and even a different computer and still no good so I don't know what to do

You need do do EACH STEP IN SEQUENCE and ALL of them

Been trying for 2 days on 2 different computers, cant get kies or odin to see phone!!

Copying my posts from Android forums, PLEASE HELP
At first kies would not recognize my phone either, after going into device manager and installing drivers that were found on my computer (hopefully from installing kies) kies will now recognize that I connected a device but it says, to please reconnect in PC Studio mode, current mode is not supported by kies??, and then I get the windows USB device not recognized message, ODIN doesnt see my phone at all. Latest kies version is installed.
In an earlier post someone was talking about another drive in addition to kies, where do I find this??
Sorry I am so lost and frustrated, I am not a noob, I switched roms on my EVO every few days, but this is my first sammy and I can't get the damn thing to recognize my phone, Could anyone give me a detailed dumbed down step by step process please? Thank you!!!!
tried on my 2nd pc, kies intalled without error message, but didnt recognize my device, i chose the install drivers option in kies, it seemed to install, but odin doesnt recognize it and still says usb not recognized when i plug it in urrrrr!
ok so the second PC seems to have gotten the drive installed and my computer recognizes the it as samsung usb modem, and samsung android device, but it still isnt recognized by kies or odin, and the usb not recognized still pops up. When I go to device manager I can update the epic touch driver and it seems to take but there is also a USB mass storage driver that has a yellow triangle and I Cant seem to fix it.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, been trying on 2 computers for 2 days. I have a rooted EVO and G tablet, i swear I'm not a complete idiot, I just need my damn computer to recognize my phone! Thanks, sorry for the rant
To get mine to connect in kies I have to turn off usb debugging, and kies always says it has to close because of a problem but I just ignore it and don't click OK or close out the dialogue box and then the phone shows up and I can do stuff on kies. Hope this helps and hopefully its not like this for everyone else

Close kies, open odin, make sure usb-debugging is enable on your phone, try connecting your phone to a different usb port. Should re-install drivers, and pop up in odin. You don't need to open kies at all.

Also, sometimes the USB cord itself can be faulty, or so was the case with the OG Epic.

no mine is fine, that's just the way i have to do it to be able to sync with kies and stuff, my drivers are fine, it was just a suggestion for the op cause he sad he couldn't connect to kies, but i think i have to do it that way cause its through parallels desktop for mac.
Thanks guys, so im uninstalling kies yet again, then going to reinstall, reboot my pc, enable us debugging on my phone, plug it in,allow drivers to install (hopefully) and never open kies. Then I'll open odin and put my phone in download mode and then reconnect it to my pc right? Is it correct to assume that odin will only see my phone in download mode?

You may also consider trying uninstalling Kies, installing/updating Java and then reinstalling Kies. What OS are you using on the PCs?

[Q] I'm Convinced my phone is Bricked

I just purchased this phone (i9100) last night after a long travel to track it down. today I simply wanted to update the firmware on it and I was using Odin3 v1.85 to do it but It failed and stayed like that for an hr with the phone in the download mode. I finally disconnected the phone and started it back up and it said " firmware upgrade encountered" with the phone on icon on the left a yellow triangles in the middle and a computer on the right side. Almost looks as though the symbols and words are cutting off the screen.
I can boot into the Download mode but the computer does not recognize the phone anymore nor does Odin or Kies. So I cant even attempt to re-flash the damn thing... I'm so upset right now and feel like taking a hammer to this damn phone...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've don't everything when it comes to drivers uninstalling Kies, using other computers without Kies installed, different ports and cables. I've done it all as far as i can see.... also I cant return the damn thing as i didn't buy it from a store. so im **** out of luck if i cant get this working.... PLS HELP!
Are you sure you are downloading the right version of the drivers? I ask because it sounds like you bought the international galaxy s II and not the Epic 4G Touch but you asking the question in the E4GT forums.
The phone is Sprint branded and so is the box.

Okay, so for future reference... you have the D710, NOT the i9100. (The i9100 is the international SGS2, different enough from the Epic Touch that you can't flash i9100 firmware.)
That said, if you can get into download mode then all is not lost!!
Restart your computer. Also, when you use odin, be sure to go into your Windows task manager and close any Kies tasks/processes that may be running in background. You only need Kies for the drivers it provided when you installed it onto your pc.
Suggest you put your phone into download mode, and follow the instructions in the 1st post in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282420
I tried the instructions in the link. however, the problem seems to that the phone is not being detected by the computer or the drivers dont seem to be working. I tried this on my other computer and while the phone is in download mode it is still not being detected by the computer or odin.... what can be causing this as before the firmware update that failed it was being detected perfectly fine.
I pretty much have the exact same problem as posted here.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I was never able to get any computer to recognize the phone in that state. I was able to take it to the Sprint store and they ended up giving me a new one for a small service charge. Since you didn't get it at a store I would contact Samsung and give them the story that cooza suggests in the thread you linked. Good luck and post back if you ever get it working, I am still curious as to what was wrong.
The only thing that might be hampering your effort is Kies might be still active. I overlooked this instruction (as was mentioned in a previous post). Before starting Odin or connecting your phone go into Windows task manager (ctrl/alt/del) and click on processes. Scroll down and you'll probably see a Kies process running. End that process, then try it again.
.....
Sorry but Kies has been completely uninstalled from this computer and the other computer.
are you plugging the phone before or after entering download mode?
I did both before and after to see if that would make a difference, but no go.

I thought you needed the drivers from Kies?
.....
I installed the drivers without it, I downloaded the drivers for my model phone from another member who suggested it.
Try deleting the drivers that u have and reinstalling kies. Use different usb ports.

i would reinstall kies..... or if you have a linux box maybe try heimdall > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755265 to flash
Guys, I tried Ubuntu but with no luck. The computer simply will not detect the phone. At this point I believe only Samsung can fix or replace this. I will contact them tomorrow and see. Maybe they will do it for free or maybe they will charge a small fee (small I hope if any) but thank you all for the help.

[Q] Galaxy Nexus kinda bricked, need help!

Hey guys
Ok so I have a bit of a tricky problem. I got in over my head on my nexus and tried to install ubuntu mobile with a friend. Suffice to say things didn't go so great and now my nexus wont boot, when i turn the phone on it sits on the Google screen. To make matters worse, no computer I plug the phone into can see the device. The strange thing is I can still boot to cwm recovery mode but there is no longer an android image to flash from and I can't load one back on.
Any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Download the factory image from here https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/takju-jdq39-factory-5e273f02.tgz. Unzip the downloaded file and you would see a file "flash all.bat". Open this file and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Done! You have flashed factory image.:good:

No it is definitely a driver issue. Uninstall the drivers you have installed for the galaxy nexus. Then install these.

Forgive my ignorance, but how to do install those files?
If you uninstall all galaxy nexus drivers in device manager, and Windows doesn't at least tell you it needs drivers when you plug your phone in, then you either have a bad cable or a very messed up phone. In that case you'd have a hard time installing universal naked drivers. There's something called 'OMAP flash' you might want to search for and ask about. All I remember reading is that some people have used it to recover their phones in situations like yours. Never used it myself. Yet. You might want to ask efrant. He knows everything.

[Q] Nexus stuck in boot loop. how get to install drivers?

Hey guys i've been looking through alot of google and can't seem to come up with anything so i turn to you awesome people.
My friend got a Galaxy Nexus GSM and he bought it with a boot loop problem. The phone is rooted and bootloader unlocked. I know because i can go to CWM recovery and also theres the unlock sign on it. However I can't get my computer to recognize it what so ever not even mount the storage. I figure i need to get the drivers to install but i need it to be recognized in device manager to do it through a rootkit. I tried to install the ADB drivers but also got no luck. I then tried to get to ODIN for it to work but ODIN won't recognize it either. Is there any way to install the drivers so i can put on a ROM on this. I think the person he bought it from formatted everything and messed it up. Is there anyway i can install the drivers without getting it to recognize first? I tried it in windows 7 and in windows 8. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

First off thanks so much for the reply and help it is very aprreciated!
Secondly i did come across this sticky however like i stated the phone is in a boot loop which means i cant get past the google logo in order to set it in developer mode and set usb-debugging neither can my computer recognize the phone when i plug it in, using the original cable i've tried every port there is on my desktop and laptop and nothing comes up in device manager. The phone is completely wiped and no OS is on it. Is there any way i can get a ROM on the phone?! This is one idea i have but i don't know if it'll work, I was thinking of buying a another working nexus install the drivers with that one and then i can get the bootloop one to get recognized? and return the new one. Will that work?

You need to get adb to work with your device, which you can do in a custom recovery. You don't need to have USB debugging enabled, you would if you were booting into the OS, but not the recovery.
You can get drivers setup while in recovery or fastboot just as easy as if you were booted into the OS, so no you don't need another device.

again, read the thread i gave you. if you're still asking this question, read it again.
Isn't that for the nexus 4? And I did pay attention to section A but it told me how to install the drivers which is the same way as every other tutorial I've looked at. My device doesn't show up on my computer and I can't install their way. As for the fastboot driver installation idk what their talking about. I followed the instructions though and got no results. I didn't do the whole thing cause for part C I need the original rom for galaxy nexus and also I don't know if the platform tools zip is for my device so I haven't gone through with it just yet. I'm sorry it's not my phone so I don't want to mess it up even further. I've read about the part with it being in recovery mode with the volume up + power option but I'm at work and haven't tried that yet but I doubt that will work since the phone is clean. Can u please be a little more specific there's 99 pages that I have to go through for that sticky. If u can't it's ok I'll just have to go through it next week. Once again thanks for pointing me in the right direction and giving me some hope.

ok so i tried the link but im always stuck with part A. When i go into fastboot and then try the command "fastboot devices" it hangs on waiting for the device. I can't see the device anywhere on my computer to install the fastboot drivers as instructed by 1wayjonny in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20058157&postcount=1
Am i missing something here? i did everything in the other steps such as downloading all the files into the same directory and everything. Im using windows 7 and i updated all my drivers for usb and even tried different usb cables including the original and usb2.0 and 3,0 ports but still no dice. I also tried it on windows 8 and got the nada.

You reboot the device into bootloader/fastboot mode, then you connect the USB, and there's no sign at all that a USB device has been installed?
Remove all drivers, reboot, and start over. Get a tool for Windows that allows you to really dig on all of the installed drivers and remove all Nexus devices drivers permanently. Rant: Umm, Windows sucks bad. Thanks Linus!

I did a little looking up about omapflash and from what i can see so far there needs to be drivers installed first. I may be wrong but i have to do some more research on it and i dont have a linux pc my laptop is down thanks to a power pin connector pin being pulled out. and i dont know if the device port is good or bad i can get a charge but that doesnt mean its fine. What if i get another device and install drivers via that and then try to get it to recognize? would that work?

To really make sure that the issue isn't on the host side but rather the USB port on the device? Yeah, that would rule it out.
Also, I just remembered: you're not using the USB ports of your PC case are you? Make sure you're using the motherboards' own USB ports.

Windows 8 64-bit...drivers install...stuck
even I am stuck on the same roadblock. have my GNex stuck on the google logo. can access recovery mode though (TWRP 2.5.0.0). Now i just upgraded my PC to Windows 8 64-bit and cant seem to be able to install drivers.
the problem is that almost all the methods require:
1. GNex to be connected with USB Debugging ON
2. install ADB Drivers
3. get into Fastboot or Recovery
4. install Bootloader Drivers
since i cant get past the Google logo on my GNex...i cant perform Steps 1 & 2.
and if i directly try to install the bootloader drivers the OS returns an error (yellow exclamation next to the installed driver)
Added pictures to help explain better.
Thnx in advance.

SOLVED (Dont know how but it worked):
1. Factory reset (TWRP)
2. Installed an old ROM which was already on the GNex
3. Restart...it gets stuck at the Google logo...remove battery
4. TWRP - Factory reset
5. reboot...

I think I broke my phone

My Note 2 doesn't connect to your PC via micro usb, shows up as USB device not recognized. I have the samsung usb drivers installed. I've tried multiple cables and computers.
Also I tried to go from a custom rom back to stock with mobile odin lite and now when I start up my phone it shows up with Samsung Galaxy Note 2 than it is just a black screen. Since I can't connect to my pc I'm not able to connect to Odin to flash back to stock.
The phone doesn't get recognized in download mode or in any other way. When I boot into download it says I have a stock binary with a custom system status and 1 count on my custom binary download. If I took the phone in for service do you think they would help or not because it is rooted.
Can any of this be fixed in a stock recovery since I'm not able to connect via micro usb.
Sounds like the USB port is damaged....
Are there any good repair shops in your area ??
The port is only 6 bucks, and a repair shop will swap it out cheap.....g
I don't know about good but I know there is one new town and all. I totally didn't even think about that brain fart. I'll give that a try hopefully tomorrow or the next day and follow up. Thanks.
Looking up on their website they charge $80 for a charging port.
Would doing this yourself be difficult?
I found one on a website (I can't like to new still) where they are quite cheap I'm considering doing it myself.
Many people do it themselves. ...
And there are many tutorials on the process. ..

Does your phone still charge using same data cable? If it it does then proper driver needs to be installed. One member post same issue like yours and all he s missing was drivers.
