[SYSTEM DUMP] I317 - ATT Note II - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey guys, here is a bone stock system dump for the i317 note for anyone that wants/needs it for whatever purpose. This was acquired from an out of the box AT&T Note II with only Chainfire's initial kernel allowing root adb shell. Before anything I dd'd each partition, here is the system partition (7zipped to cut the size down to 1/3 of the full img). Hope it helps in some way to anyone that needs to dd back a working att i317 system or anyone that wants to start hacking away at it If you need/want any other partition just let me know and I'll upload it. Again this is bone stock dd of mmcblk0p13 before root, so if you mess up you can use adb to dd it back, or convert it to tar (which I'll do in the next day or so if neccisary). Thank BLOWNCO for hosting Hope it helps

I'm not sure if this is a ROM, but I'll test it!

How do you convert to tar file ? Would I be able to use that with odin then ? Sorry , I am a noob to the Androids way of life. Thanks

Thanks, great to have for reverting back to stock if a warranty situation comes up. Maybe a MOD can move this to the dev section if applicable?

Wait... so how do you install this?

This is a bit by bit img of the system partition of the att note. So you don't exactly install it. Basically you can adb into your phone and use the dd command to write it back to the system partition (mmcblk0p13). My first attempt at making it a tar to use with ODIN failed I will try an alternative method tonight when I'm off work.

Thanks th3g1z for all that your doing . :good: On that stack dump img file , would I just put it on my sd card and then go through the CWM Recovery mode on the phone and install zip from external sd card ?

Thanks for trying bro. I am new to android moving from iphone to android and Stuck at CWM recovery. I try to unroot my phone from SU and now cant remove CWM recovery console. My phone works fine but this is the problem. Below is detail explanation of my issue. If you get lucky with any other method to restore system dump back to galaxy note 2 at&t please do let me know.
I have galaxy note 2 i317 AT&T version. I have unrooted my phone but still have CWM recovery left. How I can remove that. I am new to this. I was able to retrive firmware for my device from samsung open source site but not sure how to deploy or flash back to my i317 model using odin.
I was able to download Samsung galaxy note 2 at&t firmware from opensource samsung com but dont know how to deploy or flash to my phone using ODIN. If someone can please advice on some steps or tutorial I will really really appricate.
I just want my phone to be normal the way it was before

Th3g1z any luck on that if yes please post instructions thanks lot

I apologize I didn't get to today. It seems you are stuck with CWM and would like to have the stock recovery back? If that is the case, use chain fires cf auto root. This will root your system as well as restore the stock recovery. If you then want a un rooted system, open supersu and use the option to fully unroot. I will try another tarball tomorrow. It appears I need to tar with -H ustar and then convert it to md5 and then hopefully that will do the trick. Ran out of time trying today but I will give it another go tomorrow. I'd rather test it before it fully before posting to minimize any soft bricking, however for anyone able to get to recovery or able to adb as root you can simply use dd to write the img back to system (mmcblk0p13)

Any chance of someone turning this into a tar file so I can Odin back to stock please?

Bump for the greatness
A stock .tar from this would be very handy and welcome if available. Thanks for the initial system dump OP

[ROM] (6/23/12) NANDROID Restore Stock ICS 4.0.4 Galaxy S III T-Mobile T999

NANDROID Restore Stock ICS 4.0.4 Galaxy S III T-Mobile T999for T-Mobile GS3 T999 only!
(This Nandroid restore is not rooted and is using the T-Mobile Stock Kernel.)
Instructions:
1. You must have ROM Manager installed and or ClockworkMod Recovery flashed and an external sdcard installed. Then have the directory and file contents of the "T999-Stock.rar" file parts extracted to your internal SDMemory in the /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/T999-Stock directory. If the directory does not exist then create it.
There must be a directory called "T999-Stock" in the "/sdcard/clockworkmod/backup" subdirectory and the files must be directly in that directory, not in another nested directory or Nandroid will not find the files. (Note: If you have any spaces in your directory name. You will get a md5 check some error.)

2. Run ROM Manager and choose Reboot into Recovery or boot phone into clockworkmod recovery.
3. In recovery go down to backup and restore, choose restore.
4. Select T999-Stock and choose Yes - Restore.
5. When the restore finishes do not reboot yet. Do a "wipe data/factory reset" from the recovery menu (just to be thorough).
6. When it completes choose Reboot.

As far as rar files , well, that's an old school computer thing. As far as what is offered here is a Nandroid restore to get to stock that you restore from ClockworkMod recovery.
1. There is not an oden restore available yet for our phone. And is only needed if you really bone up your phone.
2. Nandroid restore can be done without having to have a PC on hand. You can do it from your phone, anywhere.
Downloading this now then will work with base.
THANK YOU!
This totally saved my behind! I used Titanium Backup to restore too much and it messed up some important system files. Until you posted this, I couldn't send text messages or make calls.
THANK YOU!

This is a totally n00b question, sorry.
I put this on an sdmicro card as an insurance policy, under /clockworkmod/backups, stuck it into the back of the S3.
But when i boot into clockwork (from clockworkmod.tar), it doesn't see the sdmicro card at all - it sees the internal 32 GB as '/sdcard' and there doesn't seem to be a way to get CWM to find the one on the actual sdcard (even if I mount sd_external). Is there a way to do that on this thing, or just make sure you copy to internal 'sdcard' over usb? Which I've done now.
it seems that the location of the external is different now so that's probably why you can't see it in recovery
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
has anyone "pulled" the stock recovery .img file for the T999 (if it's even possible to grab it somehow?)? It would be great to have a .tar to flash back to that... unless the international stock recovery tar works for it?

[Confirmed] Verizon TWRP 2.2 working on Sprint

Team Win's official Sprint version http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/107
Everything else is no longer needed
I installed the Verizon version this morning and everything seems to be working. The problem is Goo Manager won't install it for you and on the TWRP site it's still the 2.1.8 version.
So what you need to do is go on Goo Manage, go to browse all files, /devs/teamwin//twrp2/openrecovery-twrp-2.2.0-d2vzw.img
Download that and move it to the root of your sdcard and rename it recovery.img
Open up and Terminal emulator and type the following code
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
reboot recovery
And there you go a[n almost] fully functional (from what I've seen) newest version of TWRP
Downloads:
openrecovery-twrp-2.2.0-d2vzw.img
openrecovery-twrp-2.2.0-d2vzw.tar
With the download you can use and adb to push it
Code:
adb push recovery.img /sdcard/recovery.img
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
reboot recovery
Edit: playing with this some more it can't get either sdcard to mount in recovery. So if you are going to use this make sure everything is on your sdcard before you reboot into recovery
Edit 2: To get CM9 to flash you need to do the following steps:
on your phone:
1. Extract the nightly zip
2. open the extracted folder
3. Navigate to META-INF>>com>>google>>android>>updater script
4. open it with a text editor and delete the first two lines
5. Zip it back up
6. Flash!!
Any rom that gives you an error 7 when you try and flash this is probably the problem.
Have you tested it yourself?
I do believe I saw issues of it not backing up / restoring properly / difficulty accessing the external sdcard.

backup/restore works. it appears neither of the sdcards are mountable, but both are accessible in file manager so you have to put everything where you want it before you reboot into recovery. I'll still take it over CMW

The file will never flash mainly because the image that you tar up MUST be named correctly. A recovery image needs to be named recovery.img before you tar it or it will crash Odin before even flashing it. I dont know if the Bitzipper method would have worked but I have made a working tar to flash via Odin for anyone who wants to try it out.
Mark.

Not if you want your phone to work version roms will not work on our phone. This is just a recovery.
Thanks. I had CWM touch installed but didn't like some of the issues such as incorrect date stamp and not being able to choose sd or extSd. It was one or the other. I can easily deal with not mounting sd from recovery. I have also always liked the way twrp would compress my backups.
Downloaded and used Mobile Odin Pro for the first time. Very easy and painless to use. The biggest failure with desktop Odin was the usb cord and drivers. Mobile Odin eliminates those quirks.
Edit: WTH... Still doesn't know the damned date... Lol.. It's using the same 1970 date that every recovery has had.

GNex Bricked - Tried Fastboot/ODIN/OMAP

I am pretty new to flashing and rooting android phones. I have a GNex 4.1.1 JB Stock ROM. It was stuck in a boot loop somehow and I wasn't able to fix it by factory reset. Someone told me to unlock and root the phone to install a new stock ROM.
I unlocked using the Wuz toolkit. But rooting wasnt possible because I couldnt push files through ADB. Then I tried doing an ODIN flash using this method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827685). But I got stuck at NAND Write Start.
Now I have a Phone <-> Yellow Triangle with Exclamation <-> Computer. Which I believe is download mode for Samsung.
Then I tried an OMAP Flash using this method (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive/t-1465412.html). I was successful installing the OMAP drivers and running the bat file. However I am still have the phone/yellow/triangle/Computer logo on my screen.
I tried to do an ODIN flash again but still stuck at NAND Write Start.
I already tried to do this:
1.) Repartiion using the PIT file [ODIN]
2.) Then OMAP flash
3.) Then Flash PDA file using ODIN.
I also tried it by swapping steps 1 & 2 but no progress. Can someone tell me the exact sequence of steps or any advice what to do now?
First of all, let me list your mistakes before I help you out:
Mistake #1: You used a toolkit. By doing so, you skipped over the entire learning part of unlocking and flashing your device, so you have no idea what went wrong or what you did.
Mistake #2: You used Odin when you didn't have to. You can mess up your device with Odin, while it is next to impossible to do so using fastboot. We have a Nexus device, i.e. a device with an unlockable bootloader and the ability to use fastboot. In my opinion, Odin should only be used as a last resort.
Mistake #3: You did not read enough before you decided to fix your bootloop. There are a bunch of stickies in the General and Q&A sections. Did you read any of them?
Now, on to fixing your issue.
Go to the Dev section and find the IMM76D Odin file in a thread started by Chainfire.
Follow the instructions in that thread to flash the complete package. Odin should be able to flash your device even though you are on the screen you currently see. Do not use a JB Odin package, use an ICS package.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I read a few articles and i know it wasnt enough. I posted a thread on android central and a senior wrote down some steps and i followed that. But going for odin and omap was totally my experiment.
I links to the imm76d image do not work any more. File not found error. There were no other sources i could find. Do you have another link to the file?

You shouldn't need the .pit file. That's what probably messed things up in the first place.
If Odin is not working, I guess you can try Omap flash and then Odin. Note that if you try omap flash, and then Odin still doesn't work, I don't think you have any other option besides sending it in for repair.

After that I tried ODIN flash the IMM76D tar file but I am still stuck at NAND Write flash. What I want to know is that what are the reason for getting stuck at NAND write flash and what should have happened to my phone after OMAP Flash was complete?
Furthermore I was also thinking if using a USB jig would help me get back into fastboot.

After OMAP Flash, you should still see the "connect phone to PC" picture with yellow exclamation, but now Odin should have worked. Not sure why it gets stuck on NAND write flash. Maybe try un-checking the F. Reset Time option. Someone about a week ago said that it worked for him.

SCH S960L debrick img pretty please? Will pay!

Been sitting on this Tracfone GSIII for 3 weeks doesn't turn on aka hard bricked. Realy really REALLY need a system dump or at least the .img to load to my SD so I can bring it back to life.
$10 to the PayPal of whoever can get it as it seems to be a growing trend among Tracfone users who tried to flash Sprint rom and got a brick same as me. No BS will pay!
Please?!
am i guessing that nobody either can do it, has it, will do it, or wants $10? how about if i personally deliver cookies to your door?
please?
FYI a system dump won't help you debrick.

OK well what is the file from the SD unbrick thread that forces the phone to boot from the SD to the bootloader? Where can I get it? How is it ripped etc etc. My boss said he would get another one so I can fix THIS one but I don't know what file is required or where it is located on the device. It would be much appreciated if someone could tut out how the original file was pulled so we can at least TRY this on similar devices.
I tried with the file in the thread but im assuming since it is only a brother device the phone isnt gonna recognize the partitioned sd, even though the sticker says L710 under the model number S960l. Also its been claimed that flashing a stock Sprint rom from TWRP is viable, but instead it bricked me

Do the emmc boot stuff, boot into download mode and use odin to flash the bootloader restore tar, that will let you boot into recovery to flash whatever rom you want etc.
thanks to bilyan for dumping the images for me

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!! I dont have it yet, but as soon as I do the promised deposit is yours! Worked first time, no issues whatsoever.
Funnily enough, for the s&g's I decided to factory wipe from the recovery (which surprisingly booted as well) and the stock LJ7 Sprint rom that initially bricked it booted like a champ only thing was no sound, so which rom will work for this beast?
Also, mind if YouTube a tut for this?
glad you are all set, sprint roms work fine on this device, just not the bootchain which you flashed.
grab clockworkmod or twrp recovery for the sprint s3 and flash the latest cm nightly and you should be all set. except apn's but im gunna guess you dont have those so youll want to contact someone else who has this phone and try to get them. ive doen all i can for this device in that i helped get cm patched to work for yall, and unbrick stuff for yall.
Is there any SCH-R530C debrick image available ? My Cricket S3 has been in a coma for almost 6 months

Can't get Odin to flash the bootloader repair you provided. Phone keeps giving Unsupport dev_type. Also no sound or imei or service though I'm trying with Slimbean not CM

Yes, I can't go to download mode. Just a blank screen & QHSUSB_DLOAD
I tried using debrick image from R530U, R530M ( the one you provided at androidforums ). Still no luck

[Q] P5210 Boot loop

my tab GT P5210 10.1 wifi
is rebooting showing only samsung galaxy tab 3
is there anyway to fix it?
i have tried 4 stock roms
and prerooted firmware too but no luck
does any one have this pit file???
GT-P5210_EUR_XX_20130523.pit
I'm trying to get you that file and I'll post a link if I get it.
Isn't the pit already set for stock roms? Of the four you say you used, were they official like from Samfirmware?
Also did odin say they were successful?

yes all stock roms were from samfirmware and flashing went smooth with odin
um pretty sure its not the rom problem
its partition problem
so thats why i was looking for pit file
or do you have this kernel file?
3.4.34-601491
[email protected] #1???
pit file is available here
http://www.dlgsm.com/index.php?dir=..._4.2.2/P5210ZHUAMH1_P5210ZZHAMH1_P5210ZHUAMH1
but unfortunatly um unable to download from this site
I'm not positive of the reliability of the source so use at your own risk!
Unzip the file to get the .pit had to zip it to upload it here.
Hope this helps. Took forever to find this file without having to pay for it.

thx
but u sent for p5200
and um looking for p5210
The gt-p5210 pit seems to be impossible to find unless you speak farsi and want to pay a site in Iran for it.
But dont give up hope. I have a couple feelers of there and maybe I'll get a bite for you.
In the mean time you just might want to give the 5200 pit a shot. Cant hurt too much being you're in a bootloop already.
But of course I must say do it at you own risk.

CSC_ZZH_P5210ZZHAMH1_1246052_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
GT-P5210_EUR_XX_20130523.pit
PLATFORM_P5210ZHUAMH1_1246052_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5

according to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2643970 post #3 by user @r2d23cpo
this should be the pit file. see attachment rename GT-P5210_EUR_XX_20130523.pit.txt to GT-P5210_EUR_XX_20130523.pit

You have not mention why you need the pit. The pit mention before was grabed from P5210 using the following command in terminal or adb:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/out.pit bs=8 count=481 skip=2176
once you execute, go to your Sdcard folder and look for out.pit.
This is a command many Samsung devices share. I am confidece that the output is correct. But no one has confirmed using it succefully.
In any case I sugest you use that command your self to get your own pit and compare with the one I posted in my original post.

4.4.2 Is a troubled game! You never can be sure what is going on if you change things in system!.
In a worst case a loop-boot can be as result of Lock boot failing dm-verify!
Google suggest Manufacturers to start enforcing on a limited population for testing!. Who knows maybe that is the root cause!
Just as some Galaxy S4, that got screw by Samsung!!!!. Bad weather is coming!
I been adding libraries.ko to mount my wireless hard drive. The libraries do not survive for long and they get purge of \system in short time. New Installed KO's never survive a reboot!
Even compiling the kernel act weird. I can not select all libraries. If I go and edit .config manually, when I execute make, a script revert back what I had change so that the lib.ko do not get build!!!
I have not double check but the wifi symbol at then top keep showing the something is downloading!
This make me think? Did you guys did not forgot to disable OTA updates?
Did you ever get this to work?
I have tried the pit file and different stock versions of the OS but I still keep getting a reset after the Galaxy Tab 3 screen and then it like acts like it's going into recovery and even if i have twrp it'll show it for a brief second and then reboot again.
I am about ready to throw this stupid thing in the recycling bin.
sorry to bother... i just tried to upgrade my Tab 3, and now it is stuck in an endless boot loop.
i've tried flashing my tablet with Odin 3.07 with the factory image, a pre-rooted image and also cyanogenmod 12.1 - all have appeared to be successful, but the result is the same - boot loop.
i've also gone through loading the 3 images on the MicroSD card and installing them via recovery mode. i was careful to wipe the data and cache partitions prior.
still, endless boot loop. i'd really rather not recycle this device... if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!
just a heads up. i was able to fix my Tab today.
this video shows all the steps outlined. basically, install TWRP, clear all the partitions (on the internal storage), install your image.
