I am rooted with cwm but the cwm that I have is outdated. I have the cwm that I had on my epoc 4g when I first discovered cwm. Is there any way to update this on the epic touch? Also side note thanks to all of the developers who have been working really hard for this phone to make a great phone even better!

What version number does it say? What did you flash to get it?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I believe that if you flashed bubby's CWM, it is version 4.0.0.2. The CWM included in Zedo's V2 kernel is 4.0.1.5. I tried flashing Zedo's kernel and then ACS's V5 kernel on top of it and was getting boot loops. I had to go back Zedo's naked kernel and then flash V5 over it in order to get it working again. I am on the stock recovery (blue font) for now. I'm assuming there's an issue with the newer CWM and their V5 kernel.
Zedo just released a newer kernel, V3. It apparently fixes the lack of USB Mounting and bootanimation features of CWM. Haven't tried it yet as I'm scared it'll break the ##72786# feature like V2 did.
Yeah I flased his v3 and all is well.

Hey guys... Does anyone know where I can download the files to change the stock battery icon to the % icon? I had a zip file I tried to apply that had that and crt mod but it put my phone in aloop. I am on stock EK02+ cwm.

If you're into custom ROMs the Blazer rom will do it.
I went with Calkuins and LOVE it... thanks though.

Haven't been using the kuban that long, but does your updater push the ota to the phone? That's the impression I'm getting with that site.

Yup, I got a notification from the Blu Kuban ROM updater that there was an update for the ROM a few Weeks ago. Clicked on it, it downloaded and rebooted my phone to flash the update automatically. stupidly easy to update the ROM this way

Hello everyone. My question is: Would I be able to use the FC09 temp boot, for updating PRL, Profile etc. even if I'm using an NS4G modem?
Thanx.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda app-developers app
No, but you can use the CM7 NS4Gmodem ROM to do that, or just copy settings.apk from a Nexus S 4G CM Zip.

I forgot to mention I'm on AOKP M6 with the stock kernel. Does this matter? Sorry for not mentioning it earlier. And do I delete the old settings or no?
Thanx.

It would overwrite it so that doesn't really matter. If you do that, it should add the right PRL and Profile Update things.
Sorry for the persistent forgetting to mention but I'm just a little paranoid of messing something up. Once it overwrites the old settings.apk, will my phone still function properly? I mean is there anything I should worry about?
Thanx.

It'll be fine.
Hello,
Wife is wanting to get me a Sprint Galaxy S3.
My current phone is rooted Sprint Epic 4G Touch running Calkulin ROM. Charging port does not work, but I have spare batteries and a wall charger to charge them. I was curious to know if the S3 can be rooted, wifi hotspot works with the Android OS itself or via a third party apk, and if a custom ROM can be flashed on it.

New recoveries for new phones that won't mount storage!!
Thank you for the information. Which ROM is the closest to stock that has Native Sprint Hotspot Hack built in? Or is there a zip file that i can flash to the rooted stock Samsung ROM through CWM Recovery? Thank you in advance for all of your help.
Running into the E: can't open/mount error.

The Hotspot Mod is HERE. If you want a Rom that is very close to Stock, you can check out The People's Rom. Or if you prefer a Rom that can either look Stock, very Themed, or anything in between, check out MOAR.
Thank you again. Is the process for installing the hotspot mod the same as installing a ROM?
nevermind. i think i got it.

Just wipe Cache, and Flash .
Flashed the file, but forgot to do the cache. The phone has been out of the box for less than 24 hours.

Had some scary moments this morning at 7:30am. Phone started to be unresponsive and widgets would replicate themselves on the home screen. I cleared the davlik cache. Reboot the phone and experienced the same behavior. I also flashed the rooted Android OS zip file. Same behavior. I ended up doing a factory/data reset and phone was back to normal. Verified that device still had root and the Hotspot mod appears to still be part of the Android OS. I will verify that later on. Not sure what happened as the phone was working fine up until this morning. any ideas?
I think I have figured what was causing the strange behaviour. I used Titanium Backup to freeze what i thought was the stock voicemail program, since I use Google Voice. I unfroze it and froze the correct one. I will do a backup in Clockwork Recovery just to be safe.
