Touchwiz gets on my nerves. Is there a way to pan (shift) the wallpaper?
Im a hair away from go launcher.
Panning works on live wallpapers for stock touchwiz
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.android.livewallpaper.parallaxfall
Download that for example. It pans left and right.

apex launcher works great for panning wallpapers.

on GB, i could use an app like wallpaper set and save to keep the native resolution of images on my home screen instead of the images being cropped and zoomed in for scrolling. anyone know a work around for this?
on the lockscreen it will keep it zoomed out at native res. but not on the homescreen.
I remember this issue on HTC sense, but cannot figure out how to fix it on ICS.
There's a free app called "QuickPic" in the market, a replacement gallery that allows you to select an image and will retain res for home screen wallpaper on ics. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alensw.PicFolder&hl=en

So you open Quickpic, long press the picture you want to set as wallpaper, and select set as Quickpic wallpaper, crop and then save?

Hi,
I recently bought Galaxy Nexus and installed couple of Live Wallpapers.
I noticed extreme lag after setting wallpapers. The transition fps from page to page is drastically dropped.
Live Wallpapers tested with....
1. Fresh Leaves
2. Luma Live wallpaper
3. Deap Sea and Luminous dots (Galaxy S III - Apps downloaded from this forum.)
Does anyone has this problem? Is there any defect on ICS 4.0.4?
same here, seems like phase beam is the only one that's smooth
Why is this in themes and apps and not in questions and answers? This is a question.... and you eve checked the "is this a question" box....

I was always having that problem too, even in 4.0.2 :/ im android 4.0.4 right now

It's a known bug. Phase beam is the only one that is optimized for the Galaxy Nexus.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
If you disable wallpaper scrolling it would decrease the lag.. Most Roms have that option.. And launchers.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
It all depends on the live wallpaper. Even stock ones aren't optimized. Confounds me why Google would put live wallpapers on a phone that lag. Anyway look through the market. There are tons of nice ones that have 0 lag and are butter smooth.

seemingly, it has not supported ics yet, only is phase bean smooth

Ahmato's suggested solution has been working for me for weeks. Just disable wallpaper scrolling.
Sent from the future.
I can confirm that turning off wallpaper scrolling makes no noticeable difference.
I really wish that google would address this issue.
I said this before in another thread. What I noticed is that the phone puts the lwp before the launcher. As the launcher lags the lwp stays the same. When comparing to my ns4g I noticed its reversed If the lwp is to much for the phone the lwp lags and not such the launcher.

Both seem to lag on mine. Even with things turned off...
Edit: dumbed down vortex galaxy enough to make it smooth... I'm loving it.

I can confirm that it does. Holo spiral and nexus revamped has always lagged until I disabled wallpaper scrolling in apex launcher.
For example, phase beam doesn't move around when scrolling, does it?
Not trying to start some pointless argument, just pointing out that it does work for many.

I have searched all I can but I am having no luck. Someone I was with had the S3 and it had a very interesting option when they opened up the app drawer while he was sifting through his apps as opposed to them sliding side to side his actually spun around like a globe I thought it was very interesting I was looking to see if someone can point me in the right direction.
Sounds like go launcher.

I downloaded it but thats the whole launcher. I was thinking something along the lines of a zip that would give me that same transition. You did help though. Getting closer i hope.
Nova launcher dies that.

Nova FTW. Get off Touchwiz because it's garbage.
Nova does do it also... and ya TouchWiz is no bueno compared any 4.0+ launchers. There isn't a zip that can make that possible for the stock TouchWiz launcher.

Yea its not the globe transition i was looking for on nova but nova is just awsome thanks for the tip. Nova is snappy as hell

He was using a whole launcher as well, not a zip so it would have had to have been Go Launcher.
I'd like to start gathering wallpapers optimized for our screen. I've noticed a lot of wallpapers from zedge just don't fit that well and become distorted. Please post your favorites that fit well on our screen!

Doesn't seem to be that many good 720x1280 wallpapers out there. Does anyone have any links to good wallapers? I tried the Zedge app, and it seems to have a lot but not many good ones.
Where do you guys get your good ones?

No croping needed no over pixels

+++ This site is sick. Awesome selection of wallpapers to fix any resolution. Thanks for posting this!
You can also do an image search in Google restricted to 720 x 1280 and get a lot of results. Lots of screenshots but also some nice wallpapers. Here's two I liked after a quick search...
If anyone comes across Galaxy Note 2 boot screen paper please post.

What I usually do is look for wallpapers that are BIGGER then the note 2 resolutions, then I use photoshop to crop/transform them in to exactly the right resolution for the note 2.
If I do it like this, the note 2 doesn't have to resize and the wallpaper will remain crisp.
Touchwiz doesnt support scrolling wallpapers anymore ( :crying: ) so that resolution would be 720x1280
If you use e.g. Apex Launcher, you can set a scrolling wallpaper. The resolution for that is 1440x1280.
To me it looks like the stock 'wallpaper setter' can do cropping just fine, but any form of resizing makes the imagequality worse.
I got some examples on my dropbox here
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/th4vko9w21sjhot/hQ1YAJNhsu
I was about to resize a few pictures I have and make them into scrolling wallpapers but can't find the correct resolution they need to be. Anyone know?
Thanks
I believe it's 1440x1280 somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
Ahh thank you!

Thanks for the suggestion but I didn't find an app with that name, the closest one was "Backgrounds HD Wallpapers" but that one does not let you load your own wallpapers, only the ones within the app. I want to be able to load my own wpp and that it scrolls. Thanks in advance!
This is the app i was referring to. Not sure if you can load your own, haven't tried that but the ones in the app let you choose scrollable like you said. Not sure why pic is so small.
