Defy Camera autofocus doesnt work and pictures are mirrored

Hey guys,
Here is my problem:
I own my defy since May and i was pretty happy with it. Then I updated it to the official 2.2.2 Firmware....but it sucked so I rooted it with gingerbreak and installed 2ndinit from Android Market. And flashed CM7. (sorry I'm not an expert with this )
It worked fine for me everything WAS perfect since the camera stoped working right. the pictures have no focus and they're mirrored.
But sometimes it works fine...
I tried everything but the problem was still there. a week ago I send it to motorola (unrooted etc.) and they changed the camera. But the problem is still there.
Does someone here has a solution for this?
I'm now running official 2.2.2 without root and oc.
The pics i take look like this:

Did you clear data of camera?. Focusing is a problem in defy. Focus seldom works in low light condition s.

Got a Headache? It's all in your Head.
Yes I cleared the camera data. nothing happend.
I dont promise a solution or have a clue bout your particular problem but I have a suggestion. If yer interested , please post your lense module whether its soc or bayer.

Red lense =bayer
So i've got a bayer module.
My suggestion was rather for the SOC module, yet I can still suggest you update to any Gingerbread rom available should solve it if its a software issue.

[Q] Camera not working. Please help

So I bought a used Gio, everything was fine, until I decodeed it, because it only worked with a Vodafone card and now the camera application won't work. It starts fine, but then it's all black. You can still see the options on the side of the screen and everything. It's like if I would've put my finger in front of the camera. I wen't to a phone service, they sad that it's because of the Cyanogenmod, but then I put back the stock rom, and still, nothing's changed. Please help
i think the problem it is in hardware.

Rear facing camera focusing

Recently I have noticed the rear facing camera doesn't focus. I am not sure if it is hardware or software related. I have had the phone for a while and the camera has always been great. Not sure what happened to the rear facing camera though. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a similar issue, mine focuses, but the flash sometimes doesn't go off. When auto focusing the flash will light up the scene then when I release the soft button to take the pic, the flash doesn't fire. I'm on CM10.1 (latest nightly), but issue has been evident for a few months I'd say.

You try enabling HDR in the camera options?
How do I enable HDR? I am currently on the stock ROM.

I think its a 4.2.2 only feature and your ROM must have it built in and your gapps must not overwrite it with its own camera app.
I think

Problem with camera

Hello guys!
I noticed that in all the photos I take with my phone, a small black "interference" appears. I thought it should be a problem with the rom, so I reinstalled the ROM (CM10.1 Alpha 4) by the pristine way and the problem was still there. I then installed a 2.3.6 ROM and the problem was still there. Then, I've dissasembled the phone and cleaned the camera with a microfiber tissue and reassembled again. And the problem was still there. I have no ideas what might be causing this interferance.
In all CM10.1 Alpha versions, CM10 and 2.3.6, the problem exists. I took a photo of a white paper where you can clearly see the interference (Click HERE)
Does anybody have an idea of what might be the problem?
Thanks to all in advance
I have this problem too and the black dot expand in all screen .... So
I asked samsung service center they told me u must change the camera
Maybe flashing roms tweaks and mods alot make this problem??

Try this 3rd party camera app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsInBvd2VyY2FtLmFjdGl2aXR5Il0.
I've always thought it was better than the stock camera.
Maybe you'll get better results and the black dots are just a problem with the stock app.

The problem still persists with that app :\
Maybe I will have to deliver the phone to Samsung's repair center in order to replace the camera..
It's a hardware problem, you must change the camera.

agree.. :good:
Oh sorry, well it was worth a try.
But woldn't it be better to get a new phone instead of having the camera replaced? I man I imagen it will cost about as much.
It shouldn't be that much try contacting Samsung first before you commit to buying a new phone

Today I went to my service provider assistence shop and they send it to Samsung in order to repair it. I flashed stock recovery and unrooted the device. It is still in the warranty period, so it shouldn't be a problem
Good to hear that you found a solution..
