I found a great cm10 but animation here http://techgeekal.wordpress.com/2012/08/04/cyanogenmod-10-official-boot-animation/ but it's a bit small for our screens. Is there anyway to convert it?

Unless I'm missing something, those programs are for video conversion, not for boot animations.
Extract the images from the boot animation and batch edit them in photoshop or something else.

Click here for custom mods for your E4GT
Ok So I downloaded and installed the Stock FH13 Rooted an Deoxed E4GT Rom w/Agat V.4.4. Now I've done this a million times on a custom ROM but I don't know how to do it on stock.. I have googled everywhere and found answers that didn't work for me.. What I'm trying to do is:
1. Use custom boot animations... I've tried manually putting the zips in the system/media folder.. Tried installing them through CWM. However I keep getting the ugly stock Sprint ones. (oh i've even tried Rom Tool Manager to install different battery icons, clocks and boot anims.. none worked.
2. Get a different device options menu when I long press the power button (would like to have reboot to recovery etc..)
I'm trying to do this on my gf's phone cause she likes the stock..
In agat recovery I set permissions as well.
Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah search my thread on boot anims in the q&a section. Venum posted the answer.

I've asked, no answer, I've got bootanimations saved in data/local and in system/media, also used ROM toolbox, and changed to rouge kernal and it just did the silver "Android" that shines..... So I was told to rename samsungani to bootanimation and vice versa..... Stock sprint animation came back. It pisses me off so bad that I can't have any if my custom bootanimations or my Mario one or gears one!

AWESOME!!! That did the trick, thanks to you and VEnum!!!!
Now, can you guide me to a way to put a custom shutdown menu screen? So I have reboot to recovery/download/etc when I hold the power button.?
For anyone else on a STOCK ROM with Custom Kernel, here's the fix for boot animations

I was reading this and was going to answer it again but you found my answer from an earlier thread. Well played sir...
You da man Mr. Venum... Perhaps you could guide me to where I can put on a custom shutdown menu (or device menu) on a stock ICS TW? I've searched and would think there could be a zip i could just CWM. Either I'm not searching for the right term or it's just something that you can only get in a custom rom?

But your "no fix" applies to GB, which you're running, correct?
Please dont give others the impression that an ICS fix won't work for all when you don't state in multiple threads what you're trying to accomplish.
Hint - Chef Central on XDA.
Did you reach out to recognized developers before? They are very receptive to questions, most of the time.

I put an R2D2 bootanimation and a bunch of R2D2 beep sounds on my GF's stock FH13 ICS by doing exactly what you said.. I took the mp3's .. merged and converted them to OGG using audicity.. Copied the file to the system/etc and it worked fine.....
Not sure why it wasn't working for you.. but try using audicity to make your ogg files.. You can't just take a wave and rename it ogg, at least that didn't work for me.
Hope you get it... She loves her boot sounds
**BTW I hope that someone can still tell me how to put custom shutdown options on her ICS rom...** anyone?
Yeah i used lame to convert to ogg .
My guess would be the kernel (kuban kernel) looks for the dfile somewhere else

I'm sorry if my reply wasn't up to your exemplary standards, but I fail to see how was this^ or "Got me there lol did you try Google?" are any better. What I posted was actually a viable option that the Op may not have been familiar with. It allows for an easy addition of the NavBar, customization of the icons, resizing of the bar, and it's based off of the AOSP just as CM is.
Not everybody that posts an alternative is screaming (if you want to do that, you're dumb of not using this). Some are really just informing.

Telling someone to run a completely different ROM is not a solution to "enable nav bar via build.prop" however making a suggestion in an alternative ROM is different then commanding someone to do something. My first post was very helpful thank you very much. As was my second. The op and I were throwing ideas back and forth, I asked if he tried Google because that's what my next option would have been. Not to mention Google is solving his issue, not commanding someone to change their ROM. At least my posts were on topic.
Now to remain on topic, I think the sizing is determined by framework files and values.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I believe size cannot be changed via build.prop. You have to change the dpi but that makes everything bigger or smaller.
Yes you have to decompile and recompile the framework-res.apk to resize the navigation bar or to add power button to it.
Thanks for the replies

Hello. This method works great and actually adds the Nav Bar menu to your phone settings, which lets you modify the position and functions of the Nav Bar (including adding a menu button). Just flash the appropriate zip in the below thread and you should be good to go. There is also a zip for removing the Nav Bar as well.

So, after a few searches, both on Google and on the forums, I cannot find this mod.
Does anyone know of a stock touchwiz launcher, modified to rotate?

Right, there's a bit of the top showing though, and I can still open the app.
Except for the one in the middle, because the page indicator is right there.
I would still prefer a modified launcher though.

Well, I'm a noob at decompiling.
So what I did was change the extension from framework-res.apk to .zip, and extract it.
In the /res/ folder there is no /values folder.
I've been searching for a bools.xml folder, but no luck.
Is this something that will only show by decompiling?
Or is the GN2 framework diferent from the GS3 one?
TIA
That would work to edit images. You need to use apktool (search it ) to decompile the file before you can edit those values. I will be home in about an hour if you can find somewhere to upload it i can take a look. However i believe if you look up apktool it will be pretty easy to do yourself. Just dont forgot to make a backup in case something goes off

Thanks for all your trouble.
However, I got the file on your first link, renamed it to framework-res.apk, and copied it to system/framework.
As I started to get a lot of force closes, I did a reboot.
This resulted in an endless boot loop, which forced me to pull my battery, get into recovery, and restore my system.
So back to the drawing board, I guess.
I still appreciate all your help. Thanks for using your time to help a stranger.

Funny I'm just headed out to work. The first post has a zip to install screen rotating. The second post is your unmodified original framework so when you try the modified again. if it does not work, you can replace with the original file from the second post instead of having to wait through a full reset
That does seem odd. Maybe it's the flashable file. It was for my gs3. I've replaced them with the update scripts from a Galaxy note 2 package. They are the same download links as before. I verified that it is the modified file there. Was there any error? Did you verify that it actually copied the file? Easiest to tell by looking at the date it was modified. Its really not that great of a mod anyway. The constant rotation gets annoying and this method doesn't give a toggle. Still try the new zips and see if that makes the difference

The purpose of this thread is to make your Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch (SPH-D710) look like the Galaxy S4. You will need to be on software version GB27 (deodexed), have root access, and have a custom recovery installed.
Note: Some of the zips & apks will work on other phones but are only tested on the E4GT

That's weird seeing as the only thing in the zip is the keyboard.... Do you have a symlink to the Samsung keyboard in preload/symlink/system/app? If so, delete it... if not check in the ROM zip and extract it and put it in the above mentioned spot and change permissions to 0644. I'm just shooting in the dark, just something you can try. Let us know if it works.

Ok, so take the apk from the zip and place it there and system/app, set permissions to 0644 for both. If that doesn't work idk. Oh and from your screenshot, it would be above those, SamsungIME comes before SecBrowser in alphabetical order

Ok so placed them and set permission and still get the Samsung keyboard has stopped. Then reflash ed the zip checked both places it's there permission set to 0644. Still get the error.

Sorry I thought that the keyboard would work guess not. I will remove the link thanks for testing it out.
I have a question, is there a way to get the page indicater to show one house instead of all the indicater showing as home screen?

It's not possible unless someone would theme it like that. I have tried to theme the launcher more accurately but I had no luck getting the different png files to show for the indicators.
