[Q] Default Bluetooth action - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I just got a motorola mx550 headset and the problem I have is twofold. One is that no matter matter what I do the volume in s voice is always set high. So I wanted to use a different app, downloaded my motospeak only to find out that I cant change the Bluetooth button on my headset to open it, no matter what I do it opens s voice!
And after playing with google voice search i would much rather use that as the default action. Ive scoured all the settings and cant find a way to change the default away from s voice. I went into applications and reset all app actions to default, I even installed Bluetooth launch app with no success. Anyone have any suggestions? I may root my phone if that what it takes.

its not too bad to set up. Go to settings, manage apps, and find s-voice. Then from there disable it. (note this means you cannot use SVoice anymore while its disabled.) From there, when you hit the headphones button, it will ask you to pick a new default app which you can save to always use. To undo the action, simply reenable s-voice, and it will take over the default action again. If you want to change from the new app you selected and still not use s-voice, just find the app in manage programs and clear defaults. I have not found a way to keep s-voice on double home, and use something else for bluetooth. In all honesty, google now voice calling sucks hard. It only allows you to call, not use any other now features. If you force set the activity to use the google now search activity, it wont use the headset for voice input, only the built in mic. The solution I posted should get you exactly what you want to use that 3rd party moto app though.

Thank for you this information. I've looked all over and finally found your reply and it worked perfect.

[Q] AVRCP priority

Not sure the best place to ask this...when you've got your epic connected to a AVRCP-capable device (like a bluetooth headset with a play/pause button), the play button is capable of having the epic launch an app in order to play something is nothing is open.
My question is, what, in the Epic's software, determines the priority of which app gets launched, out of all the various playback apps you might have?
Some background: I mostly use my BT headphones for podcast listening on the go. I set up Tasker to launch Google Listen on phone startup (and then immediately go back to desktop) so that the app is in recent apps list. Then, if I put the play button on my headphones, Listen will launch and my podcast will start playing. If I want to switch over to pandora, I manually close Listen (using the back button) and launch pandora. Now my headphones control the play/pause on Pandora without trying to launch listen instead, which is what they might do if I had both apps open.
The problem comes in that I installed the Google Music beta app (this is different from the Music app that comes with the Epic, for clarity) so that I could access my music from the cloud. This app seems to take priority over all others. If I launch it, even once, it will always bypass Listen from then on, even if I manually close, it, kill the service, and dump the phone's ram. The only way I can switch the phone back to Listen app mode is to manually freeze Music with Titanium backup.
This is really annoying.
So, yeah, my question is, what on the phone makes it determine that launching the Music app is preferable to resuming the Listen app?
I find this extremely annoying too (because I have to pull over to fix it) so I only have miui player installed, not quite the answer but this sounds interesting would like t know as well

Getting S-Voice/Google Now to open via headset button?

Anyone know exactly what I can use to get S-Voice or Google Now to open upon a long click of the headset/headphone button?
I am a recent Android user and came over from iPhone, one simple feature I loved about my iPhone 4 (with had basic voice controls but not Siri) was the ability to hold the headset button while biking and just say "play Nirvana" or "play album Nevermind" and it would go into the music player and play what I requested.
For some reason I haven't been able to replicate the same function with my S3. It works find if I am looking at the phone and press S-Voice or Google Now, but not when I have no access to the screen/screen lock.
Any ideas?
anyone?

My remaining miscellaneous questions

Ok, I've had the F400S for about a week now, and it's rooted and pimped up a bit with XPosed and GravotyBox.
I'm wondering:
1) Is there any way to change the [Settings > Shortcut key] settings? I would like to set holding volume up to open something else.
2) I listen to podcasts (through headphones) more than anything else on the phone. Right now, pressing play on the headphones with no audio app loaded will load Music app. I would instead like to default to my podcast app (Pocket Casts). It seems this default setting can't be done openly/officially, so I'm wondering if there's a nerdier way to do it.
3) Is anyone else having issue with the built in quite hours function? [Settings > Sound > Quiet Mode] For me, it starts ok, switches to silent and no led, but it doesn't return to normal after the time range ends.
4) I would like to disable or freeze most the LG and korean apps. Are there any that I shouldn't because it is known to cause problems? Normally I would experiment through trial and error, but because there's no ClockworkMod Recovery yet (or is there?) I cant make the backups I'm used to doing before experimenting.
1. I believe there is an xposed module for that. At least there was a while ago that I used on my note 3.
2. I think tasker could work

Samsung Note 3
Nexus 7 (2013)

I tried getting Tasker to run Pocket Casts when headphones are plugged in, which works, but pressing the headphone button still starts music from the Music app.
4) I freeze all of the Korean carrier app on my S, the phone seems to be working fine.
The only problem I have is some app has built-in Korean (e.g. Dialer, Ringtone selector...etc) which I am waiting to replace.

I solved this using Tasker and Send Intent.
In Tasker I created a "Headset Plugged Any" event with the task Send Intent of Action "au.com.shiftyjelly.pocketcasts.action.PAUSE" (this intent is for Pocket Casts)

Disable Nuance Voice Control?

Hi all,
I bought my dad a pair of the Yurbuds Inspire Talk headphones for Father's Day and apparently every time he uses them, the microphone picks up ambient noise and thinks that it is giving a command. So, this Nuance Voice Control app pops up and stops his music whenever the wind whooshes through the microphone etc, rendering them pretty much useless.
I've tried to find the app to disable/uninstall it by going through Google app search, the application manager, and the Play Store search, but nothing comes up. I know that the obvious choice would be to root it and try to disable it through Titanium Backup or something, but the problem is that my dad isn't very tech-savvy in the first place and is not at all partial to the idea of me rooting his phone.
So, is there any way to disable or uninstall the app without rooting it or does he just need a new and different pair of headphones?
Thanks

Ok Google with S9 not working

I've never used the voice activation stuff on a phone before, but I'm getting more interested in using it for navigation, playing songs, podcasts etc. when I'm driving. Works fine if I hold the home button and speak but I want more...
So I've been trying to set up voice match. In the Google app I toggle the switch to switch voice match on and follow the screens until I get to the point when it tells me to Say... 'Ok Google', where it doesn't seem to listen and just sits on that screen. It hasn't crashed; I can back out of it etc.
Am I doing something wrong, or is something wrong somewhere?
