DIY audio to IR - General Accessories

Did anyone tried this?
http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Infrared-transmitter-for-iPhone-iPod/
Its mentioned for the iPhone, but should work with any device that has 3.5 audio jack.
I tried to build one, the LED basicly working (checked with AA batteries ), but wont work with my Galaxy Nexus or my Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Anyone manage to get it to work with his android device?

[Q] ARM040 compatible with Galaxy SII ?

Can someone help me?
I have both a Galaxy SII and an ARM040 microphone/adapter that should allow me to use other phones or connect to the AUX-in of my Car.
Connections fit, but the quality is lousy.
Someone on a german forum suggested that the ARM040 may not be compatible with the Galaxy SII.
Can someone confirm / deny ?
I wentback to the store Today and tested the Galaxy SII with several headphones and adapters.
Conclusions:
1) The ARM040 is not compatibel with Galaxy SII
2) Apparently Samsung has changed the headphone interface from S to SII
I now am using an HS U350 (HTC) that works. Only drawback: no volume control on the adapter, but Sound quality is good and the button does work.

[Q] Which CM base ROM has this working!!

I am looking for a CM or AOKP (AOSP) rom with the Dock Audio working through the USB port thingy (I know, best technical word ever). I am getting tired of all the bloatware and the look of TouchWiz on my Galaxy Note II. I have the iBolt car dock with the 9' cable which acts like a dock with the audio and charge. Which on of the roms out there are working or do I need to buy a different car dock to get it working. I really don't want to have to connect 2 cables to my phone to listen to my music.
thanks in advance,

Beats tour and s3, please help.

Hello everybody, having serious issues with my beats tour earphones and my s3, I searched before in the fourms and couldnt quite get around it. my problem is with the microphone, it doesnt work on the cross control, and if my earphones are already connected to the device and I try to make a phone call the sound is not even transmitted to the earphones but rather stay in the device it self, same thing when someone calls me...did someone found a solution.? I thought about installing awesome beats but I dont think it has anything to do with this issue, please help...I got these expensive earphones as a gift and i cant return them...it says specifically on the box that everything except the volume control is compatible with android!

I had urbeats and the microphone didn't work on those either. Unfortunately they may not be compatible with the s3.

The beats cable was specifically made for the iphone, thats why the mic and volume buttons don't work on android. However, The V-Moda 1-button cable does work with android. You can buy the cable and hook it ip with your beats. I actually had beats and switched over to the V-Moda crossfade LP. In my opinion, they are better looking headphones, and sound much better. Go check them out. But yea, if you really need a cable with a working mic, I highly recommend the V-moda 1 button mic

Thanks for the help, the beats that I have do work with my android tablet galaxy note 8 fully, except the volume buttons, its the problem with galaxy s3 that I dont understand, how come they work on some android devices fully while on others not? It says specifically on the box that its compatible with android devices aswell, can it be a software problem with the s3?

No its not a software problem, its a hardware problem with the headphones and android phones. Look at your jack for the beats (the part that plugs into the phone) notice that it has 3 black rings around it right? Now look for another pair of headphones with a working mic (except the stock S3 headphones) and notice that they only have 2 rings. That there is the problem. The 3 button mic cables were specifically made to work with iphones. If you want a cable with a mic that works with android, then you need a 1-button cable. The ones without the volume controls. So i recommend the V-moda 1-button speak easy cable. Pretty cheap too.
I understand the connector is different, what I don't understand why the beats tour mic that I have works with my galaxy note, nexus 4 and other phones that use android but not on my s3! Whats different about the s3?

Note 10.1 2014 headphone jack problem

Hello
I bought the Note 10.1 2014 upon release in Canada and it has worked fine until recently. The tablet does not properly recognize my earphones, when I insert the earphones it will tell me "headphones connected" and the symbol would appear top left and than quickly disappear. I either have to fiddle with the earphone by turning it or push it right in for it to work but it will stop working there after.
I have reset the tablet and I have tried 4 perfectly good headphones and the result is the same. I called Samsung and they told me to get Samsung earphones.
Anyone else experiencing this? Would Samsung earphones fix this or is the headphone jack broken?
Thank you
Why would samsung earphones make a difference?? Seems like a fault has occured witht the headset jack.

Hello, bring this thread back from the dead
I didnt indicate this in my original post but I got the headphone jack problem a couple of days after I updated firmware via odin, got it fixed by sending to samsung.
I updated to kitkat via Odin a couple of days ago and now my headphone jack messed up again, keeps on reconnecting upon slightly moving the headphones.
Is this a coincidence?
Are you sure it's not the headphones? Have you tried a different brand?

Look in the headphone jack for lint or other debris.
Thx for the suggestions, tried different headphones and same thing, I will clean it with an air duster when I get a chance to buy it.
Thx
Nothing wokred
2nd time in three months this has happened, getting really annoying.
On a side note, anyone know if I can revert the firmware back to the Canadian version 4.3 (currently have kitkat 4.4)? If so, where can I find the firmware.
thx

Hi I've been experiencing the same issue, just wondering if you've found a way to fix this?
Apparently there is an issue with the samsung earphone jack but have not heard of a response from Samsung on this. My jack does not accept any devices, so it is all FG^&^ed up too. What to do about this?

[USB Headphone] Audio pans mostly to a single side on Samsung Galaxy A7.

Headphone Model: Sennheiser PC 8 Over-Ear USB VOIP Headphone with Mic
I am trying to use the USB headphone with Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018). The problem is the audio come out from mostly the right channel. Like 90% from right and 10% from left.
To ascertain in which device, the usb headphone or the phone, the problem is I tried it on another device, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014). On the Galaxy Note there is no problem. The audio works as it should on the USB headphone. I am surprised USB audio works without any problem on a much older device especially given both the devices are from the same company.
So what seems to be the problem with Sennheiser USB headphones + Samsung Galaxy A7?
Please help me solve this issue.
