I am running stock and that happens to me somtimes. It disconnects the same time that my internet disconnects so I assume its the router, but I really believe its my cable modem connection. Only lasts for a few seconds then goes back on.
I have a linksys, which I believe are the best routers
Use 5ghz

It is not your router, it's the 4.0.4 fault.
Try this tweak for a change:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1961353
And yes, it works good and it is compatible with TWRP (ver. 1.2).
Please follow the OP instructions exactly (as always).
It did fix it for me, so good luck!

My phone asks me for my wifi passwords when I go from one network to the next. If I'm on my home wireless then want to connect to my works hot spot it will want the password. Same for when I get home and want to connect to home wifi.

No question. More of a statement. My phone is not remembering my ssid's and passwords that are associated with them all the time. It forgets them in other words and I have to re type them in. Something I shouldn't have to do.

Sounds like a software issue with your specific device. Mine remembers and switches wifi networks without issues.

Idk why but WiFi tether for rooted users isn't working for me. Other devices can't pick up the signal. It doesn't even show up. I'm rooted and everything. I tried all the different settings.
Generic ICS/JB wlan0 is the one most of us are using.

Mine hasn't worked for a while either so I gave up. It used to work fine right when I unlocked and rooted, but then after a few weeks it stopped working as you described. I've uninstalled, installed, tried all the settings, wiped cache and dalvic, basically everything short of completely wiping the phone and starting over.

For unrooted phones I believe the clockworkmod tether works

Just bought LG OG, rooted it with v9. Can't get wifi tethering to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tried the Generic ICS/JB (wlan0) and it was a no go. Not unlocked though.

I can confirm that JMT JB4 tethering works solid. It even placed the Tmo hotspot app in the drawer and it is a quick toggle on the dropdown menu. I've used about 11GB of data on it so far in the last week and a half and Tmo has not throttled or cut me off.

So if I have 2GB of data a month I could use that ROM and use more than that?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I have an unlimited 4g plan. But you can use all the data you want. It just won't be 4g after the first 2GB.
Hey, so I just flashed the illusion ROM, and I wanted to change the DPI. So I followed the steps and right when I rebooted to click accept in the market, none of my networks turn blue to confirm connection. They're all gray and the market says no connection even on full bars of 4G. Any ideas hire to fix this?
I know it seems obvious but reboot the phone.
It could also be a tower having problems.

I've tried that, but to no avail, it stays gray. Maybe it's the towers.

Just did a clean flash of the ROM, and it went back to normal! Thanks though!
But data/ internet seems to work. Stays in data roaming most of the time. Was on swamp monster and stock. Sprint couldn't fix it either. All of a sudden it started doing this. I also have a second note2 with SwampMonster and that phone works great. Also have a s3 on wicked sensations that works great as well.
Any ideas?

Best advice would be to find one of the signal checker apps in the play store and see what signal strength you're getting. If it's weak you know the problem is with Sprint. If it's strong then you would need to look deeper into your phone/ROM/firmware etc.
