What format should I have it in? I am totally new to SD cards since the Epic 4g and I have no idea which format works best or which one is compatible with certain ROMs. I plan on using mostly Aosp ROMs, by sometimes Freegs3 Jellybean.
Thanks for your time
Also would you guys recommend this one?

Fat32.
Format it in the phone or use SDFormatter, or just use the format it arrived in. Don't format it using a PC format program, they aren't optimized for SD cards

If you're going to buy one, just go with 64gb. Won't have to worry about an upgrade in memory for a loooong time.

I cant figure out whats taking up a 4gb of my phones storage? There's 13.33gb total with 6.22gb available. I've tried resets in recovery, file browser apps, plugging it up to the computer, and no luck. 6gb of availible is plenty but don't want it to get to the point to where it slows the device down. I've deleted backups of old ROMs which helped a little. Help por favor!
You've told us nothing with which to give you a solution from. Take screenshots of your Storage screen so we can see what is using what.

Why didn't I do that.. Just flashed a new rom before posting this and didnt try it. All of my previous roms said "no information available"
After tapping that it turns out clockworkmod is using 3.46gbs. Not sure what could be using that much from there though.

CM11 and any AOSP-based ROMs cannot have move 2 SD feature because the Nexus devices which AOSP is based for do not have SD card slot. You can use Link2SD and GL2SD. Link2SD requires you to repartition your SD card.

yep try to format it to exfat or fat32..
And how to do that? Never had ext sd issue entire life, just this one only
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
take the SD card out and put it in an SD card reader that you can plug into your PC (usually via USB)... then right click it and format.
PS
good format allocation size for exfat is 128

That's great thanks
So does this mean we can run apps stored on the SD card? Will this affect performance?
I am living in a region which may not receive the 32GB model and so I am not sure whether the 16GB would be enough for games/apps.
Thanks!

So long as you use a class 10 ad card I see no reason why performance would be effected.

Awesome, so at least I won't be restricted to having 2 heavy memory games on my phone at one time. 128GB here I come! Thanks for your help.
Good morning.. maybe you can help me how to successfully back up my stock rom on TWRP 3.1.0HIMA, before I install custom rom. I keep on failing on 52% on backing up system image. I got a big space on my external more than 20gig.
Thank you in advance.

If this is the answer,so I need to use the first system image I backed up as read/write and RE-flash seperately to my data?
Is the SD card formatted to exfat? Fat32 doesn't support files that are bigger than 4gb and since some of the backup files are indeed bigger this will cause a failure of the backup process.

I could swear that when i did my backup my sdcard was fat32.. I know you're right but I don't remember reformatting or repartitioning..
Maybe I'm getting too old and losing my marbles.. Or a brain tumour..
