Hey all.
I'm looking for an app to record music, but I can't find anything that fits.
What I want is something that will allow me to record 5 minutes of audio through the device's mic, and store it as a file on the device.
That way I can just hit record, play my guitar and sing, and get a demo/reference recording without any fuss.
If it could record extra tracks, that would be awesome, and perhaps apply reverb, even better... but basically I just want a passable quality audio recorder through the devices mic.
I've looked at pocketband, but it seems to be loop focussed, I don't like the cloud storage thing, and it seems a little complex for my needs.
So... any alternative thoughts?
Thanks.

see if audio evolution meets your needs
Check out Easy Voice Recorded on Google play
Thanks guys.
Both solve the problem I have to say, but Audio Evolution is a fantastic piece of software for a mobile device... I think I might have to cough up the cash for that.
Thanks again.

I have the first Mortal Kombat movie and I have no idea how to make it louder so I can heart it on my evo, any tips?

I've had the same problem and honestly, the best solution I've found is to either use headphones or a set of powered computer speakers. There is software available (like Film Redux/Visual Hub for the Mac) that will let you reencode a movie with the audio gain increased. This helps some but it can only do so much before the sound becomes distorted.
Using headphones helps but still sounds like whispers, guess I will have to go back to searching for a way to increase it..

If it's that bad, maybe it's the movie. Whoever ripped the movie originally might not have had the audio settings right. If that's the case, you might have better luck trying to find a different copy.
Well I would appreciate if someone had a good copy of mortal kombat..anyone?

There is an app for rooted users called Louder Sound Hack or something along those lines. Might wanna check it out.
Thanks, haven't tried the app yet but I found a better solution. If mp4 don't work well, use avi, it had better sound quality. Got MK with 2.5x audio, at the price of 300 extra MBs...gahhh damn lol

theres also DSP manager. no root necessary i believe. works extra bluetooth settings, headset and phones speaker. and very good equalizer
When I use PowerAMP it does not stop playing music when I get a call. How can I fix that?

Turn it off

Best advice of the day award goes to............
Lol but there's a setting where it will stop durring calls not sure where exactly but you should find it quick

I can see how that would be annoying. Looks like a flaw the developer should have put in by default. That would piss me off

For me that would be a fatal flaw for a music player app. All of the ones that I have tried (stock sense music app, MIUI Music and Audio Galaxy) stop and then restart when a when a call comes in.
Go into the settings for PowerAmp and select menu-->more-->settings-->audio engine--->audio focus change then check Resume After Call
Also go into advanced tweaks under the audio engine settings and uncheck Keep Service..
I use PowerAmp all day everyday and in my opinion, it is the best Audio player available for Android and worth the money to get the full version...
I hope I helped!
Ok, turned on short audio focus and that seemed to have done it. In the previous PowerAMP version I didn't have to do this. Either way, well worth my money. Had it almost a year. It now beats the MIUI player by a pinch in UI but a mile in sound.

Glad I could help! PowerAmp in combination with the Equalizer app (with reverb and virtualizer enabled) by smartandroidapps beats any player hands down!
Sounds pretty awesome. Listening to them from my surround sound. Gonna try em on my beats later. I'm eternally grateful

Like many of you, I am a avid iPhone hater. The iOS software does have one cool feature that would be cool if the devs......thank you for all your hard work btw..... Could bake something into a rom. It is on all apple devices, say you are rocking out to your music with friends and you want to here something on YouTube. Apple software it automatically mutes what you were listening to and starts play the the new audio app you have selected. Just a suggestion, I have very basic programming knowledge so i am not much help, but I think everyone would appreciate this mod.
Thanks,
Well I just played something in double twist, then went to YouTube, and when the video started playing it paused my music, closed YouTube, went back to DT, and hit play. It picked up where I left off.

Plus 10 it gives you the option to enable/disable
Unfortunately the music apps i use include YouTube, I heart radio, tune in radio, stock music player, and subsonic and that feature does not work with any of those apps. So I guess it's just not a widely popular idea so far.
I know Pandora does this too. It's all about the apps used, not the ROM.
Even youtube leaves off where u where when u switch to another app or press home and return to youtube
Anyone know of any roms that are good for listening to music? I don't mind if its gb or ics... just need a good listening experience as I will be on a long journey tomorrow! Thanks

Any if them. Power amp is a great app for music, I like it a lot.

It's not the rom that made sound quality, but the phone and the headset. What do you use as earphone ?
Get any sense 3.5 rom, make sure it has beats plugin in the stock music player. Choose srs enhancement and play the song...nothing can beat that quality.

So true. Rom or music player won't do anything much, except for some which have dspmod in it. The point is a good headset is the key for a good music. Plus an amp if you could afford one. :hehe:
if you have a long journey than sure you need better battery life install cm7 and with power amo or player pro or winamp or even the stock one with dsp manager should work fine
Thanks for all the posts guys! Know beats aren't loved here but I've got a pair of studios (I got them cheap off a friend not stupid enough to pay more than they are worth). I went with a sense 3.5 rom in the end with power amp and it was great! The only thing is...on quite a few roms, I experience this annoying thing!! Sometimes while listening to music...I'll unlock the screen and this weird noise interrupts the song...sometimes it happens when I lock the phone aswell. Its not the headphones coz it happens with all my headphones :/ I thought it may be rom related but its not

dig into the advance audio engine settings of poweramp. increase the buffer size to 750ms. should make that go away.

Trying that now...will report back although I've switched to primo s sense 4.0 Rom and the problem seems to be gone :/

Try different Sense 3.5 Rom if you are enabling beats audio. I've noticed that each some Roms don't give the fill Beats experience. It also could just be me. Also flash the xperia xLoud engine found on the Rom that combines rc mix and virtuous. I can't post links cause I'm considered a new member. I find that funny since I have been using this site for 1.5 years yet never signed up till now.
I'm on a sense 4.0 Rom and the problem seems to be gone been on this Rom for 2 days now and haven't experienced the problem! I know what Rom ur talking about....from xxxpachaxxx. That's the Rom I just switched from because of the problem

Finally on the 3.5 Rom you were talking about I didn't have any fuzziness but I did experience increased battery drainage while listening to music compared to other Roms.

power amp
i have tested a lot of music apps on a few phones and need to say that first of all the phone is responsible for the sound quality. Off course the headset is important parallelly ( i use denons plugs which i think are good enough). There is no doubt though that players quality differs. In my opinion power amp is the best ever app to play music on the android phone. You can adjust the sound as much as possible. PLayer pro seems to be good too but there is a kind of whisle noise in the background playing continously and it's disqualifying the app completelly. Other apps are not worth even trying
Amazon MP3?
I know some groan at the thought, but Amazon MP3 is also pretty decent. It's got a built-in EQ with some preset settings, and if you buy music from them at all, it's nice because it will interface directly with your Cloud account. You could d/l a bunch of stuff from your Cloud to your phone (if you have the room) before you go on your journey.
It's not the only music app I use, but it's not bad.
I know this might be asking for too much from a tablet device but here it goes.... I would like use my table to plug my guitar into it either through midi or direct o that I can record the sound of it. I can use an external pre-amp to basically get the sound and effects all I want is the ability to have the tablet record the output so I can store ideas on it when I can't be near my PC. I know I can just use the camera or sound recorder but that's really cheap. Any musicians on here have anything they can help me out with?
Thanks guys!!
