So I just rooted my Kindle Fire and installed CM10 and I LOVE it! But the only thing I need is a volume control of some sort. Anyone got something like that sorted out? I did search but couldn't find anything specific. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Volume Control by RUBBERBIGPEPPER works great. I use the free version and it's awesome.

This is the best volume management. Absolutely wonderful!
I even used it on my Galaxy Nexus for a few days, but made no sense since it has a volume rocker.
You won't be disappointed! (Hopefully..)

You can also try VOLUME IN NOTIFICATION app.
I have been using volume in notification for quite a while now until I just found this thread and discovered rubberbigpepper... Think I might be using this for now on... Very nice!

You Have to use status bar volume plus

I've been using "Notification Toggle". Works great. Tons of options. Using it on my S3 as well for brightness adjustment and EZ flashlight

This one works fine for me.
To the OP, I take it you're doing this for a tablet in the car? You doing an indash mount? What kind of car? I've got a kindle fire running cm10 in my powerstroke diesel right now. Not perm mounted, probably going to build a docking station setup in the drivers sun visor though.
If you have twa_ piv cm10, you can get the volume slider on the notification screen.

+1, I used "Volume in Notification" before switching to this rom. I like the slider much better.

One more here for 'volume in notification'
A kindle running CM really needs this IMO. For my kids it is a real lifesaver combined with tabletUI
Volume In Notification is my favorite of all of these. The sliders in the first one can get in the way occasionally but this is always out of the way unless needed.

I haven't tried this app on a Kindle Fire (I wish I had a Kindle Fire), but I think SVC+ will work with it. I use it on my Galaxy and I love it. It only takes seconds to change volume using this app. I've used other sound control apps and this one is by far the easiest to use.
You guys should be careful with any sound app the speakers on the 1st gen fire I heard they are really weak and they can blow out very easy just a heads up

Leave it alone, please.

I would advice not to play with the volume because my speakers on my kindle fire 1st generation blew while trying out different volume apps. Playing around the volume is something you don't wanna mess around with.

I am using it. Works great and looks good as always. Neon theme baby!
I had a weird problem with it. After playing music (via 3.5mm) for a while it would beep four times then the music would stop.
Is this happening to anyone else.

i just tried ubermusic because i read this post.. Im sorry but it doesnt even compare to poweramp.. but i guess to each his own.. its not nearly as feature packed as poweramp. I was actually kind of dissappointed in it.

You're right about the feature packed part, but Uber's interface is pretty slick.

Stock is annoying because if you use the lock pattern, it covers the lock screen controls.

Personally haven't changed locks, but this is something to keep in mind. I usually use Pandora as my go to music app, but for SD card music, I stick with stock and use the galaxy S music widget from market.
Is there any way for this to be done? I know how to turn on the two individual colors, I just don't know how to make notifications light it up.

maybe look at pokey9ks source and see how he calls upon the led? than try to incorporate it within the os
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
Yea this would be really really good. The led is strong. So it would make up for not having a vibration. Obviously possible to control since it can be done in the boot loader.
Following this with much interest.
With rootdimmer you can switch the leds on and off. So maybe some sort of changed bln app should do the trick.

Maybe we could use TrackBall Alert as a base, or help the dev to support KF?

Im stumped..... Any developers that know of a way to do this shoot me a PM.
Hey guys, came across an app called tablet remote in the app store. Uses WiFi/Bluetooth to connect to your android device which it turns into a game controller. Works well over WiFi, haven't tried Bluetooth yet. Oh, and its free!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Usually people wanna use a controller because touch screen games are usually annoying and inaccurate. So I cant see playing a touch screen game with another touch screen. How u gonna know what buttons your pressing?

I usually would agree, but the app worked flawlessly. It would be awesome to have like some 3D piece to lay over the screen so you could actually "feel" the buttons

Is there a simple way to get the tube tv effect when I put my screen to sleep? I don't really want an entire custom rom. Thanks!

Yes, Root, Install CM10 or AOKP. I don't know about stock custom roms as I don't run them, but I'm pretty sure some of them do carry the CRT animation.
If you don't want to do that, No.
Ok I installed Cm10 and I'm never going back. I love the tv effect. Is it possible to have the sound effect that the tube tvs made when you power them off? I had that effect on my iphone

Probably... at least for CM10 there is a screen lock sound.... if you replaced that with the tube tv sound it would work.
Edit: Something like this app should work.. you could look for a free version of it.
Anyone know of a good dock/alarm clock that works with our phone? I need something with a very large display since I'm basically blind in the middle of the night.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Philips makes a couple different android dock alarm/speaker system. I had one myself and it worked fairly well with any android phone.

Have seen them, wasn't sure if they were worth it.

It worked well when I had it. They say you have to use the Songbird app, but you don't.
I returned mine because I needed a speaker that was portable and rechargeable, these are not. That being said, they are still fine docks and the speakers are food and loud.
