Is there an alternative to the stock messaging app because It pulls each group message into individual messaging. Also when I send a group message it ends up sending each person an individual message. I am running Jellytime R26.2. Thanks in advance!
There are many other messaging apps on playstore. Handcent and go sms are popular. I've used both and they are good.

I'm using the standard SMS app and the main flaws with Android is group SMS! When I send a group SMS out and someone replies that persons SMS becomes its own thread. Its very annoying and being a current iPhone user I gotta say I'm really disappointed that Jelly Bean hasn't fixed this yet.
So do we have tweak for this? I'd rather stick with the default SMS instead of Handcent or any of the other alternative SMS apps.

Don't think there's any way to fix it with the stock Messaging app.
Apparently you can't send texts to groups in the messaging app of CM10? If it's there I can't find it. I mean I can find groups in the contacts app, but can't send any of them texts.
Edit...this started as a question but after no answers, I'm left to assume group texting is not possible with the stock CM10 SMS app. Anyone recommend Handcent or Go SMS on CM10?

Update...a great workaround from Elixis...a free app ChompSms. It's icon even looks almost like the stock. Love it so far. Be sure to also get the free emoji add on for Chomp. It has over 400 symbols.

Handcent allows you to send/receive group text messages. Works well with those using an Iphone. It now threads the conversation and keeps it in the same group.
You should check it out.
Or you could use what's app, it's a good temp option, has emoji and lots of options. It does require the receiving person to have though.

Can you send, reply and receive messages in one thread with this phone?

I'm not on the stock firmware anymore, but I don't believe so. I think threaded group messaging (as MMS) is a feature of 4.2(.2?).
Darn, thanks. I left Att a while ago to go to Verizon n thankfully I can do group messaging with the stock messaging app on the note II. I was very interested in the LG pro but want the group messaging without having to use a different app like Go SMS which would make my phone lag terribly.

Heads up, you can. While it's not going to be as fluid as iOS' s group messaging, if you hold on to the message that is an MMS you can reply to all. It'll create a new thread with all the recipients, even if you don't have them in your contacts. Sadly, just like the Samsung group messaging, the messages won't be in a single thread and all the texts you'll receive will be from each individual contact.

I am on 4.4 currently and am part of a group message, but would like to go to stock however when I did try before and set Hangouts to use mms for group message it didn't work and they still came through in individual threads.
