What's Up With These Gold 4200mAh Batteries - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I know the rule - you get what you pay for. So how good are these relativity low cost 4200mAh Gold batteries?
You can find them here:

From my experience they are not the best money can buy. They work for few months and get very bad afterwards.
I had 2 for my EVO 4G and 1 for PHOTON 4G. I was a good investment for the Evo and waist of $$ for the photon.

So this battery is made in Japan but ships from China...hmmm

These usually have less juice than the phones stock battery dispite what it says on it. I've had good luck with Anker batteries so hopefully they'll have some with higer mah that fit without an extended back.

Yes I would love to have some spare batteries with larger capacity.

I am tempted to get these too, anyone tried them before?

hi friends, I am chinese and I want to inform you that you don't want to get battery from china
It is mislabeled and don't be surprised if the true capacity is only 500 mAh.
You also don't want to buy storage drive, toner, jeweler from china.
Storage drive because Self looping 1gb but the system is fooled to think it is 32gb,
Toner because it may advertise as 7000 page but only 2000 pages of toner.
Jewelry because it contains lead.
In china, it's a long standing norm that people die annually from fake products, even food. People die from fake alcohol, fake baby formula, fake egg... how the heck do you fake an egg?!
Anyways, you are better off getting an OEM battery. Thanks

Hey thanks for the advice. There are also some batteries on Amazon:

Something about...this post is just... odd to me.

I guess fenvy is right, you never get the true battery mAH from china. I bought a 1300 lumens flashlight from china it's not as bright as the 300 lumens I bought locally

I wonder how good these "Hyperion" batteries? 2 for $19.99 that comes with a wall charger. It says they they are 3100mAh each. How are they compared to our Samsung stock batteries?

I did some more research into hyperion. They seem to lie about their ratings. I have had their batteries before and have noticed a marked decrease in battery life with theirs. I would get the Anker batteries instead. Those are reliable.

Anyone find a high capacity battery they could recommend? Did you need a new back cover? If so where did you get it or did you just go without a back cover?

I was hoping to get a recommendation on one of the 2000mah batteries, but if I could win it cheaply, it'd be worth checking out. Maybe I'll buy one of those wall chargers too. I could easily carry the extra battery in my wallet.
Thanks!
I never saw a 2000mah battery. I want to let you know, don't expect what you see in the picture. Those 1500mah ones are probably unbranded. It doesn't make a difference, as long as they work, I guess.

Just won the auction and got them for 9.50 plus 4.99 shipping. The ones pictured appear unbranded as well. They don't say HTC. And if they aren't actually yellow, it doesn't matter. Until someone makes a clear back plate, no one will see.
Thanks again!!
Jake
I'm a lil weary of those cheap non branded extended life batteries. If you go on amazon and read some of those reviews the users complain about this batteries not working after a certain amount of recharge cycles. The best off brand to trust has been seidio. Other than that just go oem. With a price that low it sounds like you could end up spending another $9.50 in a couple more months. Now, I love my ebay but that sounds too suspect.

This is the seller's exact response when I asked him about returns.
'you can return it anytime if you done think the battery is what you exoected
but you will need to pay to ship it back
thank you'
I'm weary of buying them too, but he did say I can return 'anytime' and I plan on holding him to that word. If I get them, I'll test them with a voltmeter each week and ship them right back. Even if it's 6 months later haha.
Well I got them already... They seem to last longer than the stock battery. Who knows if it will last, but they are good now.
Glad I made the purchase.
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
How much longer we talking about? Just a couple hours?
Yeah... Just a couple hours. I'm not saying it is significantly better than OEM. I'm just saying it will work great as a backup. I also got a wall charger so one battery will be kept in my wallet as a backup and I will charge them both each night.

The reviews I've seen on these cheap batteries always seem to indicate that they aren't actually what they say they are rated, and testing shows that they don't last as long as the OEM batteries.
After a few days of use, I do not see much difference between stock 1200 and this 1700. Only payed 9.99 with free shipping, so not bad for a spare battery.

Don't believe the hype. It's pretty hard to make a battery with a higher capacity that is cheaper and is the same physical size. These batteries are compressed into these small packages and to increase the capacity without using more cells or larger cells, would constitute using more exotic materials, which would cost more. At best, these batteries are equal to OEM, but most are lower grade knock offs. The best application for any of these batteries is backup use
I bought 2 1500's for $20 off of Ebay.and yes i do see about about 2-3 difference with them.. no its not much of a difference but they do actually work.. so the hype is real..
i've always been wary of buying batteries, particularly laptop batteries, online.
ie safety/actual capacity/quality

1700 mAh battery

Found these but im confused about the details listed on them. Here is the link:

Capacity: 1500 mAh; (Compatible model BD42100,PD42100,35H00142-07M)
Do NOT need to change back cover; Increase Cellphone Battery Life;
the part im confused about is where it says they are 1700 mAh but the the capacity is listed at 1500 mAh ....... any1 have any ideas?
These started out at $29 and now they have went up to $49. I would say they would perform below stock battery standards, less than 1300....
you definitely don't wanna cheap out on the battery on such a battery thirsty phone, go with OEM or a reputable 3rd party manufacturer (Seidio, etc)
The part you should be concerned about is how they are using the Japan tsunami for advertising. My advice? Don't buy it.

HTCexpress is selling the same battery. The capacity is listed as 1700mah, and they updated the description on amazon. It's probably still a little suspect, but people were all excited about the 2x1500mah batteries on ebay. Does anyone have any success getting batteries from HTCexpress?

It's the same seller as the one posted in the link above. I've bought from them before when I had my G2. I bought two 1800ma batteries. I had no way to really test if the battery were really 1800, but I did see a significant increase in battery life. Many G2 owners bought batteries from this seller. There should be several battery threads still floating around in the G2 forums where these red batteries are mentioned. If the seller didn't hike up the price is would have already bought them.

Cool, look forward to seeing your review. if its a real 1700 with a good % of actual power it would add quite a bit of time to our battery life.
I bought a package, but went through the eBay store instead. I chose their Buy It Now or Best Offer, and pitched $40 out, it was automatically rejected. Then I got an email about 2-3 minutes later with a second chance offer accepting my $40 so I took it.
Still a decent value.

Just ordered one, hopefully it really is 2200ah because definitely need it to last just as long as the oem. Great Price if it is. I don't think I really need nfc that much so I'm good.

I have had the Anker for almost 2 weeks now and it seems like it last a little longer than OEM battery and it doesn't get warm at all no matter how heavy you use your phone.
I'm able to get 15+ hrs easily with 2-3 1/2 hrs screen on time at least 30 mins talk time etc etc. For $8.99 not bad at all and yea in the states NFC isn't that important yet.

Android Beam and S Beam use NFC.
It's short distance (< 1 inch) always-on communication.
With these batteries you cannot tap 2 android phones to share website links and information, or tap 2 samsung phones together to share files/pictures.
And you can't use Google Wallet, which you get free $10 if you sign up for (free). Wallet works anywhere that has those MasterCard PayPass readers.

It's mAh (milliamps) not "ah." At 2200Ah, you're talking automobile batteries.
Tell you what, instead of of butt-meter claims such as " it seems like it last a little longer than OEM battery" or "They are pretty good. And when they say 2200ah, its no bs! This brand is trusted!", why don't you do a true capacity discharge test and let us know the rating.

are you serious? thats what i meant to say! good thing you didnt correct the OP title too! Do you read reviews when you buy products or ask someone who had used the product before? Because If you dont then I would understand you not trusting them
to give you a heads up http://www.amazon.com/Anker®1900mAh...dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1
Anker batteries performed better than my Vibrant OEM battery, my MT4G OEM battery, my Sensation OEM battery & my GS2 OEM battery. All results based on the "butt-meter" method. The batteries may not live up to the marketing hype but were always better than what came in the original box. I have 2 GS3s in the house so I need/want NFC but will order anyway.
I have Anker for the S2. Pretty good. I should be getting my 2 pack shortly. Too bad they don't include the universal charger like they did with the S2 double pack.
Hahaha...saw the review on Amazon..."The nfc is working half the time." Hahaha... It's funny how people buy things online without reading anything.
With spare batteries...you should worry less about how you manage the battery life now...if it dies...just swap! :good:
People that haven't bought these Anker batteries and talk crap don't really know what they are talking about. I had these before for 3 of my other phones and they perform just as well as the OEM minus the NFC. Thanks for the heads up civic! You can't beat $16 for two shipped to your door

I've tried aftermarket batteries of that small of difference, I personally believe samsung makes their stock batteries of higher quality than the 10$ dollar ankers or the likes therof. Therefore, I think its a wash as far as daily phone hours of usage. But I'm pretty confident the cheap aftermarkets won't last as long in the long run. I think the best option is just get a replacement battery, have it charging all day, use your phone to your hearts content, no extra bulk. Then at around 7 or 8 when its getting low if you had a big usage day, pop out the battery, put in the new one. We should be grateful as g3 users that we have this option eh.

Sounds kinda fishy, especially from eBay. Might want to keep a fire extinguisher handy lol.
Probably a scam, since the battery would have to be bigger than the factory battery in order to fit more capacity.
The back casing is generally snug so the battery doesn't get knocked loose leaving no room to fit a larger battery in.
Though it doesn't make since to sell a fake battery with that little of a difference.
Still i wouldn't be surprised if its a relabeled 3200 battery and you'll probably have a hard time telling if it is fake on the fact the capacity difference isn't big enough to tell a difference.
Still I am curious as I don't see any batteries on Amazon with that capacity.

A quick search on google shows the BL-44E1F is a Hyperion battery with 3200mah. And it's only $15 on Amazon.

Actually more searching shows BL-44E1F is used by some other brands I've never heard of. Usually 3200-3300mah.
As evo stated, they are probably just relabeling since you won't be able to tell when the capacity difference isn't much.

i'll check out when it arrives and will post on this thread to let everyone know, if it's a fake 3500 mAh then i got a secondary battery for 25$ with free shipping to europe which is a pretty sweet deal. However if it's really a 3500 mAh it will be my primary battery and i'll keep the original one as spare part.
I know you could use a HTC rezound battery which was 1620 mAh in a HTC thunderbolt phone that was 1400 mAh. The back case fit just fine. So there might be batteries from other phones slightly bigger that could fit.

I am not sure how much space there is between the casing and the battery I would agree that 300 mah larger battery would probably be barely larger and could theoretically fit, my concern is that the battery isn't available outside of eBay and ebay does have some real shaddy sellers.
Would still like to hear from the OP on what he ends up getting in terms of battery life and size.

guys sorry but the battery was expected to be arriving by april 10th, did not arrive and i got my order refunded by ebay vendor. Sorry i can't provide any feedback on a higher battery capacity... I won't be ordering any other spare parts as the phone is already 6 months old...
Dude, I've found a 5600mah battery.
Here's the link

But anyway it is expansive €38.90 = $46 + shipping around $2 = $48, I can say it's expansive for me
