Phone crashed while playing game and now is bricked.(CM10) - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I was playing a game and my phone crashed. On boot it flashed a samsung screen with a little blue word in top left. After that it just vibrates. I cannot get it to recovery mode and I tried to odin it and nothing happened.
Is my device permabricked?

Download mode says its samsung official now. But i can't bring in for warranty because it was flashed 4 times.

Have you tried downloading the stock ROM from stockroms.net? Go there & download the stock at&t galaxy s3 ROM & flash it in Odin. This will take you COMPLETELY back to stock. Give that a try. You will have to re-root and all that good stiff but maybe it will fix it.

Did you try holding power, home, and volume up during boot? I had the same problem before. I had TWRP and Rom Manager installed. It booted into Rom Manager and I was able to flash a previous custom rom.

If you get into download mode, reboot from there and try to get into recovery. That's what I did. You'll have to check 2 things in ODIN. Auto restart and something else. I'll edit this with better info after class.
There's another way of doing this through kies, but you will lose all data. That's your last resort.

Now you have to get the original unrooted factory rom .tar file and restore your phone back to factory. Your phone is just soft bricked so you are very lucky. Use google or the xda search feature and look up something along the lines of "SGH-T989 .tar file" or "T-Mobile Galaxy S II tar". The exact file you need is floating around here somewhere.

Honestly I haven't done this yet with the GS2, but I've done it a million times with a Vibrant I once owned. I'm gonna look it up right now and see what I find. This should be a pretty easy process. The best part is that at least your phone isn't completely bricked.

First do a battery pull, then put the battery back into the phone, hold both the up and down volume rocker and press the power button till the phone vibrates (letting you know its been turned on), soon as the phone vibrate then release the power button but do not let go of the volume rocker until you see the recovery image! Once you see the recovery image you are easily back in business. Let me know if you can at least get into recovery.

What ROM did you guys install? Few questions. Did you guys install Samsung drivers. If not install through kies or from the development section here and reboot computer. Then put in download mode and wait for comp. to recognize phone again. try entering recovery and flash a basic stock ROM from dev section. See if that works.

Would Rerooting help?

So somehow someway my phone is on the "Galaxy S 2 Yellow triangle with exclamation mark" screen and wont boot up.
I simply wiped factory reset, and dalvik ( coming from Caulks Rom ) and then flashed Blazer Rom 3.7 and it never went past that screen.
My question is can i simply re root on my mac and would my phone go back to stock rooted OS? Or do I have to restore it through Odin?
Note I did backup my previous rom!
Sorry forgot to mention I cant access recovery either! I hold down volume up and power and nothing just stays on the yellow triangle screen...

From the sounds of it id say you may need to flash more than the kernal I was in a similar situation where my recovery wouldnt work and I couldnt boot into the rom and I had to flash back to stock through Odin to get it working again. Then after that I re rooted and flashed a rom.

Im not sure, when it happened to me there wasnt a way. Its really simple though I mean when I did it I was back up and running, rerooted, and running a rom in about 10 minutes if that.
This is the file you would need to flash the stock tar file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409634 this is what I used then after I just re rooted.

Help Please: Phone not booting up

Strange thing happened to my phone yesterday night. I was watching netflix for a while and after some time the screen just went blank. I am not able to restart the phone. It got struck in the kernel bootup(Darkside kernel, TDJ's darkside rom) and it was restarting again and again till i remove the battery.
I am able to get into recovery mode but not able to restore any of my backup's. It just went blank during restoring system. I tried installing the same ROM(Darkside Digitsl warfare v2.5.1) from my internal SD card but it just went blank after some time. I tried the juggernaut-5 . It didnt throw up any error but when i restart it its again displaying the darkside kernel and boot looping.
Any one can you please help me to get out of this mess. I need to travel on Monday so desperately need my phone fixed before that. Please help. I have not installed anything new over the last 1 month and didnt have any problems till now. Thank you
System Details:
ROM: Darkside Digitsl warfare v2.5.1
ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.7

Try it again. The phone has to be in download mode before you plug it into the computer. And are you flashing it as PDA? People have reported it taking a couple tries.
Usually if you can get into download mode you can fix it. If you're stuck and your computer won't recognize your phone, try getting back into download mode. If you're sending it in for repair anyways, it's better to have a full brick so they can't see that you rooted.
Another option if you can't get into download mode, buy a USB Jig, they are usually less than $10 and they can sometimes get you back into download mode.

The strange thing is i didnt do anything on my phone for last 1 month. The only thing i could think off is, one of scheduled titanium backup ran at 3.00 AM when i was in netflix with the phone charging, and i got a msg that the backup failed. When i woke up it started boot looping. And during the ODIN i tried today, I was making sure i am doing right by following the guidelines(ODIN back to stock).
I have all my nandroid backups(different rom versions) & titanium backups, will i be able to use it in my new phone after rooting with the same recovery version?

Are you running Odin as administrator?
Manually download the device drivers from the how to root thread and install them on your computer. right click on Odin and run as administrator. Open the stock rom file in the PDA field and run it.. There is no reason it shouldn't work if you can get into download mode.
Try downloading the stock rom again, maybe it's a bad download.

[Q] Unable to boot to recovery, crashes [SOLVED]

I've bought global Galaxy Note 2 N7100 from Hong Kong with Kogan (online store)
Unlocked the device by using this method "How-to-root-galaxy-note-2-easiest-method" on google
[Odin v1.85 unknown CWM6 version]
After that, turning off the phone and holding down the Vol Up + Home Key + Power brings up the Galaxy Note N7100 screen, buzzes out and turns itself off.
I rewrote a new CWM recovery mode onto the device and tried it again, same problem.
[Odin v3.04 / ODIN-KashaMalagaTOUCHCWMRecovery-V6.0.2.7]
The next step I was going to take was to wipe the phone and install the stock Kernal, then using ODIN to unlock it again and trying to enter recovery mode again.
If this is the right step, I will do so.
If you could help me, it will be appreciated.
Android version : 4.1.1
Kernal version :

Try TWRP instead of CWM. You can find it here:

After installing the app Goo.im I installed the TWRP recovery with it and rebooted the device into recovery.
It showed the same buzzing screen and turned itself off.
There is no noticeable file courruption within the phone and everything is just as same when I start the phone normally again.
Could this be a faulty device? If so, can I actually get a refund / return for it?
I also cannot receive my 3G data from my sim when my Galaxy S2 was able to recieve it.
Does unlocking and changing roms affect the availablility of 3G data?

Can you share more? What did you do before it started?
Have you tried reflashing stock? Then rooting with cf-root and then flashing twrp with odin?

The 1st thing that I do is root with the "how to Root Note 2 [EASIEST METHOD]"at Youtube. like the topic and than after when the rooting process it will restart into recovery mode part at that part when I saw the note 2 word when restart the word were distorted and the note 2 word run everywhere and than become black screen for about 2-3 minit and than the phone restart on back like normal and my phone were rooted and got super user on it and I tested with titanium backup and can be used. After that I try to install cwm recovery and flash the CWM recovery like the app told me to, after that i try to backup my stock rom and than after restart to recovery mode the note 2 word show like when the rooting process the word distorted. After that i try goo manager to flash twrp and try go recovery mode and still same. I did not try to flash back the stock rom. can you guide me what should I do next about the cf root and flash twrp with Odin, i dint try it because Im noob at rooting note 2.

You can go to twrp site and download twrp for note 2 in tar format so you can flash it with odin just the same way as you flashed cf-root.
Do not use goo manager. For some reason it says that it flashed twrp but it does not flash it.
So in a few words.
DL twrp 2.3.3.2 in tar format.
Open odin and select pda and then select twrp.
Switch off your phone and boot in download mode by pressing volume down+home button+ power botton. When you see samsung logo realease power button. Keep the other two.
Press vol up to confirm
Connect your phone to pc and wait till it recognizes it.
Press start. Wait till finish.
It should be working after this.

Does CM flash a recovery of it's own maybe? Check their thread if it indeed does.

I don't know understand what you just said but my phone wouldn't boot properly into cyanogenmod, the screen would flicker around and go all weird then go blank. I then restored to me backup and later made a new backup and tried flashing Cyanogenmod again but the same thing happened. So again I restored to my back up but this time my backup didn't work and is doing the same thing as it did with cyanogen mod - screen flickers and flashes and goes all weird then goes blank

Galaxy S II won't get past Samsung logo

Hi,
I was trying to switch from AOKP to CM 10 on my Galaxy SII (SGH-T-989), so I booted into CWM recovery, did a factory reset and wiped the cache and dalvik cache. When I tried to flash Cyanogenmod, it gave me an error (the .zip was not valid or something to that effect), so I tried to restart into recovery again, but it wouldn't get past the Samsung logo. The same thing happens when I try to get into download mode. Odin somehow recognizes it anyway when I try to turn it on, but won't do anything.
tl; dr: Phone won't boot into regular, recovery, or download, but is somehow recognized by Odin.
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you can't get into recovery mode? Maybe you might have that sticky power button issue. When you try to boot normally, does the phone continuously vibrate?

Never mind, that didn't fix it.
Turns out you have to hold Volume Up and Volume Down at the same time for it to get into recovery, unlike other versions of the S II.
Please update op to say solved
