Root ??

Hi i have a htc desire on orange. i want to root to unbranded version because i can also get updates faster. can you privide me with links for the unbraded rom and also if theres is a video or a step by step guide for rooting and installing roms.
Will this get me 2.2 quiker and also a link on how to app 2 sd and if i have a root desire with unbranded rom can i get update still ? and update 2 froyo ?

look for all Roms etc in the Dev section in future. otherwise alot of people will scream at you. I followed the guides in this thread and I managed it in 15 mins.

Not going to provide you with links, because that would encourage laziness
I will however point you to the development forum here, and advise that you checkout the sticky about useful links. it will provide you wit tutorials and all you need to root.

there are many 2.2 roms in the rom development section, htc is yet to release the official froyo update, if you decided to go for a custom rom after rooting, most custom roms come with apps2sd ready to go, out of the box

can i still get official hhtc updates if i root with a unbranded rom ? with apps2sd on it ?

is it possible not to root but unbrand the deisre ? and still get offical updates ?

i feel my HTC desire HD not will and i install many applications and do alot of work with it
IS there any Way To Reinstall Original Rom(SW) as it is from Factory ? and How?

[Q] Where can I find official gingerbread 2.3 download?

First of, sorry if there is already an answer somewhere but I just couldnt find it.
All the guides I find online about instaling the official 2.3 give me the same download link (I cant post it, forum doesn't let new users do that). It's a link to htc developer site, it redirects me to htc developer site with a slightly different adress. For the life of me I cant find the download on that page. I tried htc.com, nothing there too. Tried googling, tried searching this forum, tried searching other forum

[Q] Official Gingerbread RUU - download link?

I've just bought a second hand HTC Desire for my daughter and would like to upgrade it from Froyo to the official stock Gingerbread, but I can't find an active link to the RUU anywhere, and it's no longer available on the HTCDev site. I used to have a copy but seem to have deleted it!
Does anyone have a link to a download mirror?
