[Q] ION Stuck at XPERIA Screen - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

I reset my phone and out of the blue it froze at the XPERIA screen, I have tried to do a hard reset but no response. Is there anything I can try? Right now I can only think of letting it sit, hoping it will drain of battery.

Is your phone bootloader unlocked?

No, its locked. I cant escape the XPERIA screen no matter what I do. I suppose I just have to sit and wait for its battery to die.

If it was unlocked, the fastboot from flashtool was an option. I had used it a few times.
The phone will go into fastboot. then from flashtool you can reboot, while keeping the vol down button pressed with the phone still connected. You will then get flashmode.
This has saved time for me a couple of times.
Try connecting it to flashtool, and see if there are any options to reboot.

It is just stuck at the XPERIA screen, I cannot enter flashmode when I hold down the volume button.

Check if you could detect the phone thru adb.
adb start-server
adb devices
if it finds a device
then
adb shell
reboot
but keep the vol down button pressed

Alright, ill try!
EDIT: Came home and the battery was dead, gonna charge it and access CWM and restore my backup

[ion] Brick

My ION got brick.
I had my bootloader unlocked. I was trying to update my phone via flashtool. But unfortunately that my computer unexpectedly shutdown when flashtool is on about 50%. Then my phone become bootloop (at the SONY logo).
I soon restarted my PC and hold Vol+ & power for 8 seconds to hard reset my phone. But when I tried to get into the Flashmode, I found it was not only unable to get into the Flashmode but also unable to boot. I even tried to hold Vol+ & Power for about 2 minutes but nothing happened.....
Idk what to do now... Now I have my ion charging with EP850 for about 50 minutes but nothing happened. (No LED, No Screen lighted, No button lighted) Anyone who can help me?

Use the recover from soft-brick thread sticky'd in the general section. Or click the link in my signature. Read the OP for help then post with info about phone. Like is it rooted, unlocked, current Rom, what happened, what you have tried. You will get help there.

I also had this problem. I disconnect the battery and reconnect while ready for connect in fastboot mode. Otherwise it can't be done. So try disconnecting and reconnecting.

[HELP]Xperia S absolutely blank[BRICK]

Hi guys,
I was working on a fix for my rom. I made it, went to CWM and flashed it. Then rebooted and evrything was absolutely fine. Then I rebooted into to wipe cache and dalvik cache and did both successfully. When I rebooted, my phone got stuck at SONY logo. I held the volume up and power button for around 5 sec but the phone did not vibrate once. It did not vibrate at all. Instead the SONY logo slowly disappeared and the phone went to a blank screen( NOT powered off ). Then it automatically powered off. Then I tried flashmode, no luck. Nothing for fastboot too. Trying to power on/soft-reset/hard-reset is of no use. The phone does nothing.
I checked the soft brick thread . It said that hard reset will lock up the phone until the battery dies. But I did not do a hard reset at all.
Any help will be appreciated.
EDIT:- Flashtool says that phone is connected with USB debugging off. Nothing happens when I connect my phone to a wall charger too.
Thanks,
abcdjdj

The guide says that after charging for some time, the red led should appear. But my phone had around 80% charge when this incident occured. Anyway, I have kept it for wall-charging now.[NO LED light appears - nothing just blank]
if charging does not help , letting the battery die out might bring the fone out of bootloop

I had a similar problem. I rebooted my phone after wiping system, and the phone just showed a black blank screen. I just held VolUP+VolDOWN and then held Power too. After, I felt a vibration and released the buttons and the phone rebooted so I could get back to recovery TWRP. There I used adb to solve the problem.
Maybe you should just wait to your phone completly discharge... And then charge again.

You must have actually pressed vol up+power only. One vibration means a soft-reset. Yes, I am waiting for the phone to get completely discharged. Following this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33032165&postcount=2
" You need to leave the phone on a charger to see when the battery dies. " That's what I am doing. Thanks for your help.
Has anyone tried this tool - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173363
Also, are there any other tools which can completely rebuild the bootloader and all other partitions?
There is a Qualcomm tool for your device, u tried that?

This phone doesnt have any Volume +/- power button trick. It ONLY has the yellow reset button. Its a pain in the A*S!
Try a few things first.
1) When you hold down the yellow reset button, are you ONLY holding it down for a few seconds, and it vibrates ONCE?
Have you tried holding it down for 10 seconds, until it vibrates TWICE, indicating it has powered off completely, and THEN try connecting it?
2) If step 1 got your phone to power off completely try:
-Connecting your phone to your PC via USB with the volume DOWN button held and see if you get a GREEN L.E.D. If you do you have
successfully entered flash mode, in which case you can simply flash an FTF file with flashtool.
-Connecting your phone to your PC via USB with the volume UP button held and see if you get a BLUE L.E.D. If you do you have
successfully entered fastboot. From here, as long as you have ADB and your devices drivers installed on your computer, you can flash
a boot.img or "Kernel" with a fastboot command in a command window (fastboot flash boot boot.img). The easiest way to get a kernel or
boot.img with a baked in recovery is to download the latest Cyanogenmod, unzip and extract the boot.img, and flash it via fastboot.
Since you have an unlocked bootloader already, your device should be able to use an AOSP kernel.
From there you should be able to at least boot into recovery, and flash something from your SD card.
Id recommend just flashing the latest Cyanogenmod just to get your device up and running. From there you should be able to follow steps
get back to stock if thats what your looking for.
I hope at least one of these options work.
If not, like that last guy said, take it to a service center and get it checked out.

All ZL's are like that. Hold down till 1 vibration for reboot. Hold down till 3 vibrations for power off. The yellow reset button will not power on the device however. I figured I'd check just incase my power button decided to go for a sh*t.

[Q] Am I bricked? Need Help

So continuing from here...
I don't know what is wrong with my phone. I had cm-11-20140113-primoc-sk installed and tried installing cm-11-20131126-UNOFFICIAL-primoc back after Wiping Data, Cache, and system. I got through all the steps until reboot to flash boot.img. I rebooted and it just turned black. Nothing functioned afterward. I'm not even sure it is off because I can still see a faint backlight on. There are no lights, computer doesn't recognize it, power and volume buttons don't do anything, and I can't access HBoot or recovery. Am I bricked?
I've flashed several ROMs with this phone and this is the first time this has happened. I had more than 50% of battery when doing this.
P.S. the faint backlight is still on.

That is odd, prehaps your power button is a bit more mashed than mine. I'm guessing the battery has probably run out by now, but could you try adb or fastboot to see if the device is still recognised? From there we might be able to send it reboot commands etc

I don't think the power button is mashed up. I know the OneV tends to have a mushy power button but mine is still functioning well. Today when I pressed the power, the red led flashed several times. That means it has low battery right? I'm guessing it is off now? I'm not sure.

[SOLVED] I think I bricked my brand new pixel xl 2. Will appreciate any advice.

Hello friends.
I got my Pixel XL 2 yesterday and today I'm in trouble already.
I unocked the bootloader, installer twrp and rooted with magik succesfully, but I had trouble installing my apps (titanium backup gave me a parcing error and the googgle play store wanted me to pay again for my purchases for some reason), so I figured I do a factory reset so I get prompted to restore from my old phone via cable. So I went to settings -> factory reset.
The problem is that when android rebooted to erase the data, I instead got dumped into twrp on a screen that says Mount Decrypt Data and is asking me for a lock pattern. But the screen doesn't responds, so I can't proceed. The power hard button just toggles the screen on and off but it does not reboot or turns the phone off when I hold it, so I don't know how to get to my bootloaded to maybe reinstall a factory image or what else to do.
I'm just stuck on that screen without options.
I would very much appreciate any advice.
Hold power, vol up and down buttons until your device turns off.. then go into bootloader by holdind vol down and power
I thank you very much for your reply.
I did booted succesfully into bootloader, but now I'm affraid I jumped from the frying pan into the flame because now my phone doesn't power up at all. If I connect it to the charger I don't get the battery with a lighting bolt that I'm supposed to get. The only life sign I get is if I plug it via USB to my computer, I do get the sound that windows plays when yoy connect something, but other than that, the phone seems to be dead.
I'm guessing it's something with the hardware?

Was the battery low when you started this?
Are you familiar with ADB? When plugged into the computer type adb devices or fastboot devices does it return your device serial number? If so type adb reboot bootoader.
If not I would hold the power button for a good 20-30 second and see if you can force it to turn on or reboot and immediately hold volume down to get back to bootloader.

Did you get anywhere with this? Just curious. I know you're probably upset, we're here to help if we can. :good:
Thank you very much to everyone for your time and help.
Thanks to your advices I was able to solve it. In case anyone ever finds himself or herself out in a similar situation, here's what ended up happening:
After holding the power button for about 30 secs as Namolas sugested the phone did reboot itself and brought me back to that twrp mount decrypt data screen asking me for a lock pattern. It was then just a matter of adb booting to the bootloader and install a factory image as usual.
Thanks again. I appreciate it guys.
