[Q] epic 4g touch cm10 battery problem(PLEASE HELP) - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I noticed there was a major battery drain issue for my phone with cm10 ROM now. I looked at battery in settings and it said screen was taking over 60% of my battery!. I tried Battery calibration and still didn't do anything. Any help?

Hey do you know of some app or something that will help battery life?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app

There are several apps out there. Personally I don't use them. Some tips would be to turn off all location services in settings and raise or turn off auto refresh intervals of apps and/ or widgets

Probably. I haven't ran cm10 in awhile but if the updates re-write system files then most likely that mod will be erased each time.

Is this battery life normal?

Since my last post went completely off topic and hopefully will be deleted soon I am going to try again. I flashed CM7 last night and ran a battery calibration and I only had a 4hr 19min battery life with moderate use I updated my radios but my baseband still says 2.15.00.05.02 Instead of 2.15.00.08.02 did I do something wrong in the flash? I put it in the root of my SD card and flashed it just as I would with any zip. Here is the screenshots from my test.

If you want the current radios see this.
Has the recovery install as wall as hboot install.
Edit: did you have this with your previous rom?
Perhaps a new battery will help if yours is old?
Yea that is definitley not normal batt life. I'm not saying mine is great, but usually i can go a day on my batt with light to moderate usage. Usually just checking fb, xda, mikmik, and a few minutes of internet surfing
Yeah battery life was right about the same I never tested it. It was sprint lovers rom. I have a new battery coming in as soon as tomorrow so I'll test it again once I get it. Is there any suggestions for things I might try?

I just did before I let it drain but I'll try again. But I am having an issue updating my radios. I downloaded the newest one from the link above and I've tried installing zip from SD and apply update from SD and neither one of them worked it says installation complete but my base band doesn't change and the steps posted in the link don't show up when I'm doing the update what am I missing? AOKP Jelly Bean Build 5 - What does everyone think of it?

Just put build 5 on my S2, and I gotta say, its pretty amazing. Its a lot smoother, and has some more options. But mostly, there is a noticeable difference of smoothness and look. I was crashing once or twice a day with build 4 as well. So, I am happy. What are your thoughts? Any other Jelly Bean ROMs that are better?

Goomanager. I myself am in love with this release. Everything has been smooth as butter. Implemented the usual build.prop tweaks for graphical glitches. CPU settings are all stock ondemand/cfq, went for 20-21 hours yesterday with 3-3.5 hours screen on time and that was my first cycle!! Of course no RR or SoDs either. Can't wait to see what whitehawk has in store for this update!

I noticed it in Goo yesterday, haven't flashed it yet though I think I'm still going to wait for the updated SBean.
This is the first aokp rom that I have tried and I am very happy with it. Everything is very smooth and fast. The only problem that I have with it is the lock screen. When I hit the power button the screen comes on really bright for about a second then goes back to the normal brightness level that I have it at. I usually have have it on the lowest setting. It doesn't always happen but most of the time it does. Anyone know how to fix this?

What are you using for a radio? Sounds like something is sucking the life out of your battery or you're in an area with crap reception and your radio is draining your battery trying to get a good signal. I myself am using uvle1 for a radio. I've had nothing but bad experiences using uvlh1.

Set CPU governor to performance. Turn on all your radios and set brightness to 100%. Stream high def YouTube videos over 4g network. Use YouTube modded HD apk for faster battery rapeage.

High brightness, turn up min cpu clock, run apps that are hd and consume data (maybe a few at once)
Can I just ask why? Are you trying to benchmark ROMs or something (curious )

You are lucky to get those times with your signal as low as it is.
When you have a low signal like that, it is constantly searching for a better signal and using up battery life.
Yeah but there were a couple very rare occasions where it lasted way longer.

A couple? You need to have consistency. You can't say that you have a problem now when you really haven't had good battery life to begin with. I can bet that your signal is what is causing the drain in battery. Either get a better signal or get an extended battery.

Maybe the battery is a dud... Doesn't have to be bulging to be bad. Also look for stray apps. You can also upgrade your kernel and modem. FL 24 is the newest. Go look in the repository.

It'll be easiest if you just grab screens of each section but you'll need to let it run a day or so to get the best snapshot of the situation. Once you get em post em up and I'll look at em and see what's hanging causing that wakelock. Im fairly certain its gonna be radios searching but could always be that plus something else

Yea. Now let it run down to 15% or so then snag screens of the stats for me and ill check em. Full charge wipes battery stats so we get a fresh look at whats going on
I like to break stuff!

Is anyone else getting horrible battery life on jellybean?

Every ROM I try on jellybean has horrible battery life. Does anyone else have a better gingerbread or ics stock Rom?

I have now upgraded from 7. Seems a hell of a lot snappier. I'll give an update on the battery life..

192/1404000 is my current settings however it doesn't seem to stay that way in trickster mod. I am on Tiberius. Does the battery life seem decent?

It depends what you're doing. Some activites kills the battery twice as others. Screen brightness, radio signal, gps on or off.....a lot of things can make a huge difference one way or the other.

I don't think beanstalk has good battery life in general...JMT8 and Tiberius kernal 2.3 are good.

You can customize a lot with xposed on touchwiz. Just do a nandroid backup first....I find xposed can mess stuff up sometimes if you're unlucky with certain changes.

I don't even know how to do things on xposed. Doesn't even show up in app drawer.

Same here, I find it too confusing
Just Google it. You'll find tonnes of stuff and how to stuff on it. Can be a very powerful customization tool.
Again...nandroid before you use it a lot...just in case. Or a reflash works too. No big deal.

YouTube? Nooooo...Google for info to read. Or use xda search.
Just read VERY carefully. Some things are for certain roms and android versions.....etc.
Its not simple to use. It takes some studying for sure.
