So I really want to install this skylanders game on my Nexus 7,
but the Amazon app store said it is not compatible.
I have other apps from amazon that I bought when I had some other tablets
and they run just fine on the nexus 7.
So I don't think its a hardware issue, just some bulid.prop mod that is needed.
Is there away to make the nexus 7 tell amazon app store its a kindle fire?
The games only .99 cents.
Would it be possable for me to buy it on a kindle fire and
then then copy the apk file to my nexus 7?
Skylanders Cloud Patrol (Kindle Tablet Edition)
Might be difficult to just copy over the. Apk, I believe all Amazon apps "phone home". Tricky question, anybody know a solution?
I imagine that the Amazon exclusivity period will end eventually, sucks right?
Titanium backup/restore?
Thanks I'm. Trying Bluestacks and a kindle emulator tonight. Let y'all know How that goes.

BlueStacks didn't work. It wouldn't let me install Amazon app store. So I guess I'll have to wait until the Google Play store has the app

installing the apk works
I was in the same predicament and found a workaround...
1. Install app on kindle fire. (Mine was on the OG fire)
2. I uploaded the apk to my dropbox. The apk is called pkg.apk and is in /mnt/asec/com.skylanders* (forgot actual path but it's common sense once you get there)
3. Export the apk to my N7.
4. Install. NOTE: the app will say you can't connect to Amazon's game circle, yadda yadda but you can still play just fine.
5. Profit
skylander cloud patrol on galaxy s 3
Has anyone figure how to get this on galaxy s 3. T999 I dont mind paying for it
I just did a Google search for android skylander and the first link was on Amazon that said it was compatible with both my N7 and Galaxy Nexus. I added to my cart for $1.99
I didn't buy it but I don't see the problem.

I have come across some apps that say they are not supported with our device. Its a feaking nexus device and it's advertised as supporting every app in the play store. Any way I found this solution and thought I'd share it with you all.
This person figured out a way to download the apk from the play store to your computer to side load if you cannot get the app on your device.
http://codekiem.com/2012/02/24/apk-downloader/
Yeah, I have a phone and player and just back up all apps with my file explorer. Then put all apk's in an "app folder" on Dropbox, then copy them to any new device. Most side load without issue. Unfortunately they aren't recognized at the Play store and won't update, but when they update on my phone, I just copy the new one. I have to do that on my player with GO Notifications, not sure why it's been "incompatible" for 6 months now...
Thanks a lot work fine

Despite adding to the target line, it still says I need to turn off SSL warnings
Which device ID do you use, for the Nexus 7, or a different device?
**EDIT** Put in my SGS3 details and it worked fine
Another way to do it is to go into astro viewer and go to backup apps. Go down the list to the app u want and click backup and then go look in the backup folder and u will have a apk that u can put on ur phone/ tablet etc...
I recommend the app Datasync. It's pretty easy to use and can even sync data (like game saves on Max Payne or whatever you want). It syncs data between your phone and nexus.

I have been following a thread in the Kindle Fire HD forum about getting this .apk to work on other tablets. A poster wrote that he denied it su permission and it worked on his tablet. I tried it on my GNex and it worked!
What I found interesting is that when I went to watch a movie from a channel it had the option to "watch on Phone". This is interesting because the .apk recognizes that it is not the kindle fire hd and is a PHONE.
I also looked in my play store and it shows that I have the Optimum DVR Manager installed (which I do not). So I went to open the DVR Manager from the play store and it opened the Optimum3.0.apk. This tells me that the Optimum3.0.apk might be close to launching publicly on the play store soon!
Big news for any Optimum/Cablevision subscribers!
Hey so you got a link for it?

As per the title. I was using the free lite version but at this price it's a no-brainer for me.

That's strange, both the lite version and the paid version work fine on my 3G Nexus. I've even removed the app then reinstalled it from Play store and it downloads fine.
Do u need something to else to make it display on TV? I'm lost....

You need a smart TV that is online. It doesn't even work with a Roku. All the channels looks like duplicate content anyway except you have saved on your phone.
Would be cool if it would work with more stuff.

Maybe you changed your DPI? try switching it back to the original DPI if you did.
As an Apple TV owner, this sale is(was?) a no brainer. It works perfectly despite the disclaimer that its "beta." Photos, music and videos streamed and, moreover, they seemed to load up faster than when I air share with my iPhone. Maybe it's psychosomatic, but I really find this app invaluable.
I was under the impression that apps that run on android are APK files - typically found in the data/apps directory of rooted Kindle Fire. I bought a bunch of Dr. Seuss book/apps I wanted to transfer to my granddaughter's Nexus 7 from my Kindle Fire. They're all installed on the Fire but I can't find the APK files. What am I missing?

Are you serious? Your granddaughter? I was under the impression that there are hardly anyone here over 35 years old, and here we have an awesome granny?
** (No offence. I was seriously surprised)
Most books aren't .apk. If they are amazon books they will be some weird file type in sdcard/Books/ you could then get the kindle app on the nexus 7 and just transfer the files from /Books to the /Books on the nexus 7

I think they're talking about those books you buy as apps and they may read the story to you and have animations. Plus, there's a sale on Dr. Suess book apps for his birthday anniversary, so it's likely they're talking about those.

Yup mnt/asec - not so simple as a single apk I can send. Oh well. To make matters worse, her dad already bought most of the same ones on the sale. I'm going to let him log on to my account and download them for her. Hopefully they will work. I've been disgusted to discover that Calengoo doesn't work unless I'm logged on to Amazon. I've gotten rid of most of the kindle fire version of apps and often forget that's what my tablet is. Good thing I'm an old lady or I'd be madly in love with twa-priv!

I have tested kindle fire-specific apps on TWA's ROM, and as long as you are logged into the Amazon appstore, they should mostly work. As far as Calengoo, i there's a Google Play version, right? If you download that, you don't have to have the Amazon appstore

Not sure why but I have to be logged on to Amazon. Google Play lists Calengoo as installed but there is still a link to Amazon somewhere. I get occasional error messages and am required to log in to my Amazon account. Irritating.
Presumably it is because it is a paid app thru Amazon. I've not purchased it separately from Google. But why does an app that is specifically designed for syncing with my Google calendar need me to be logged on to Amazon??!! Geez!!

I have an account for that site, and use it all the time. All you should need to do is put in a 4 letter code to download. Are you sure you didn't follow an ad? I did not mean to lead you to a false lead. Sorry if it doesn't work out for you.

Same here. Need to login. Does bugmenot.com work here?

In reference to the original question, an app that can make back-up apks will usually display every application installed on the device and allow you to make back-ups of those apks. I use "File Expert" but many more are available. That eliminates the need to manually search for the files It's easy to send the back-ups to any folder of your choosing.
How can I copy a kindle fire apk to another android tablet? I am planning on getting my son a Nexus 7, his favorite app is watch disney xd, that he watches on an ipad. There is no app for android proper, but the app exists in the kindle app store. I would get him a Kindle fire hdx, but there is no rear facing camera.
Thanks for the help...pw
Find out if it is 1 or 2 gen. If it is one gen, Ok. First root (find the KFU in the android dev foum.) Now install es file explorer from google play (install that from KFU). Now install the disney app, and open es file explorer, turn on root, give it root permissions, and navigate to data/app and find the disney xd apk. Copy it to the sdcard partition. Now connect kindle to computer. Then find the apk, and place it on your desktop. Copy it to your nexus 7 and use es file explorer to install. If it is 2 gen, root using a different method and then do steps 3 onward.

What's the deal with the Market Helper app? Why won't it help? I know what Market Helper is used for, but have the big name app stores caught onto this sneaky little app and found a work-around to STILL block specific devices from dl'ing device specific apps? Reason being, I've got a Galaxy Note 3 and I'm trying to get the Watch Disney Jr. app on my phone for my son, but I'm havin a heck of a time figuring this out! lol
