-now the problem i cant connect my phone to the computer to transfer OS. just i can enter fastboot mode.
please help me ..thx
Do you have recovery installed? Like CWM? If you do then run it from the boot loader and it will allow USB mass storage mode.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
If you have CWM installed and you can't open it put your phone in fastboot and use the command fastboot erase cache
yes i have CWM v 5.8.3.1 & i clicked on mount SD card but its same i cant connect my ONE X to the computer also there is one message it shows (failed to open USB master mode) when open the bootloader.
appreciate for helping.

Will this work with my obscure software version. I have 2.18.751? There is no recovery image for this.

You won't be able to get any ota with it but you will be able to mount it via usb cable in recovery

you can grab 2.17 OTA's recovery image. Its was the same, 2.18 was minor fixes that does not involved recovery.

Another thread like this... I know. Sorry.
In an attempt to load the modified battery management file, I've managed to brick my One X. It just sits at the 'HTC quietly brilliant' screen and that's as far as it gets.
I can boot into bootloader and then use fastboot, which in turn has allowed me to load the Clockwork Touch Recovery. I can reboot and load this recovery fine. But whatever I try, I cannot get it to boot back into the normal OS.
I cannot mount the phone on my laptop as that's not an option (that I'm aware of) in the One X recovery mode. Therefore I cannot copy across a new ROM to the SDCard and reload via 'Update.zip'.
Battery is healthy, everything was working prior to this failed attempt at being clever.
What other options are there to re-load a ROM and get the device working again?
Thanks in advance for your help
Rob

Thank you, very much. A question, where it says:
'After that download RUU specific to your handset and run. This should install fine and return you to stock.'
I've downloaded what I think is right and I have a .zip file, how can I get this onto the device to install it?
It is mentioned in the instructions. You will need to use adb.
Edit: I presume that you have fast boot and adb installed on your PC. If not you will need to do that for your device to be recognized

That's the trouble, I can't. Because there is no USB access in recovery, ADB doesn't work.
Unless I'm missing something obvious?

I just edited my reply. Do you have all the drivers installed on your PC?

No adb.
Boot into fastboot on mobile and run the RUU from pc.
You need to have your bootloader locked before the RUU can run.
fastboot oem lock
Also did you try a factory reset in recovery and then tried to reboot into system

Thanks guys, sorry for the slow reply...
I do indeed have ADP/Fastboot on my computer still.
Where can I download the stock RUU? I can find a .zip version from this very forum, but how do I install that if I can't transfer it? I had assumed there would be a .exe version to run from my computer. Is there?
skywalker1970 - I did indeed try that, thanks.
Thanks again

So yeah ... Hi
Yesterday evening I decided that I was sick of HTC Sense and wanted to unlock my bootloader, root my HTC One X and install cyanogenmod.
When I got, what appeared to be a bootloop, I panicked and did something really stupid. I kinda decided that it was a good idea to go into my ClockworkMod Recovery and formatted everything, including data and system.
Now I can't do anything with my phone of course. Also there appears to be no way to access the SD card inside and I can't take it out.
I have no recoveries or backup's and my laptop does not detect my phone at all.
Please help me, I would like to get my phone fixed as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance
If you have the latest version of Clockworkmod just go to 'mounts and storage' and mount usb storage. Afterwards, copy your ROM zip onto the sdcard

You need to look in the search for one x one click tool (there are others) and use that. There will be instructions on the thread though it's pretty self explanatory. Don't panic your phone will be fine but I'd turn it off as you read or you will cause yourself more hassle. Im typing this as I walk so can't be more helpful.

Download this recovery
http://db.tt/Krlm4dPs
Rename it to recovery.img and copy it to the fastboot folder on the pc, now put the phone in fastboot usb mode (hold power and volume down button until it restarts into the bootloader)
Flash it with fastboot
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot erase cache
Then enter recovery and mount the sdcard as usb drive and copy the Rom.zip over. Boot back into bootloader with this command
Adb reboot bootloader
Flash the boot.img from the rom.zip from fastboot (copy it from the rom.zip to the fastboot folder on pc, just like the recovery)
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
Enter recovery and do a full wipe and install the rom.zip from the menu "install zip from sdcard"
Should do it !
Ok, thanks for all the great info guys. Because of you I am now able to connect my phone to my pc however I installed cyanogenmod 10 and somehow it flashed the boot.img and it still does not boot. The only thing I get to see is the HTC screen and that is what it stays on. Does anyone have any more tips to solve this and let me boot into my cyanogenmod?

hmmm.... no... i mean if he had like an 1.12 version he can't install JB roms untill he updates to 1.3x HBOOT or will happen what happen to him - he will stuck on the boot... am i wrong?
That only applies to Sense ROMs.
On CM10 and some other AOSP roms it's the other way around: they only run on older hboots and updating hboot results in bootloop.
It can be fixed though, but we need his hboot version.

Like I said, it can be fixed. You only have to flash a kernel which is modified to work with newer hboots. It is is post 9308 in CM10 thread. And fyi: GPS is not functional on this kernel.

Ok guys, thanks for all the awesome advice.
At the moment I am able to connect to my pc and able so that issieu has already been fixed
But yeah I'm stuck at the HTC boot up screen and I used to be stuck at a bootloop of CM10 before I flashed boot.img
I hope you guys know a solution for this. Thanks in advance.
I'll prequel all of this by stating that I am a complete noob to the Android. After reading the stickies to this forum (correct me if I'm wrong), flashing the device sounds promising, but I don't know if that solution is even applicable to my problem. I'm worried I've completely bricked my HTC One X. Any help would be greatly appreciated and here's everything I can tell you about the situation.
The phone is an HTC One X Endeavor. When turned on, it shows the boot screen (HTC-quietly brilliant). Holding the power and the down volume buttons reveals the bootloader menu. The phone is unlocked and the problem occurred after an attempt to root the device. When I plug it into my computer I hear the sound that signals I've connected a new device, but under My Computer it brings up a CD drive, which can't be browsed.
If I pull up the bootloader menu while it is plugged into my laptop, this text comes up on the screen briefly:
checking sd card update
sd checking
failed to open usb master mode
loading pj46img.zip
failed to open usb master mode
please plug off usb
After running through that it just goes to HBOOT. I can still access FASTBOOT and all that, but nothing seems to work. Is there any way to revive my HTC?
Sorry for the noobishness, I've been on an iPhone for the last few years and have only had my HTC for a couple of weeks (love, love Android and never looking back). So I'm really hoping there's a way to recovery my beloved HTC.

Always the case, eh? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I'll give this a try and come back with the (hopefully successful) results.
When I try to install the HTCDriver.exe nothing happens when I click on the .exe and I have tried this on two separate laptops, one on Windows XP and the other running Windows 7. I also sought out and tried installing HTCDriver_4.2.0.001.exe to the same results. When I click on it, the hourglass appears for a moment then disappears. I've tried running both as Administrator and still nothing. Any suggestions?

Thanks! I've done this. HTC Sync Manager was already installed so I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. This solved the problem. I was able to flash over TWRP and now I am on the screen that lists Install, Backup, Wipe, Restore, etc. BUT my touch screen isn't working and I can't select any of the options. Also tried the volume buttons on the off chance, but that doesn't work either. Grr! Seems to be one problem after another.
~edit~ I tried flashing clockwork over and it says that it can't load /Recoveries/CWM.img and I also should have mentioned sooner that the three buttons at the bottom of my screen do not work. Hoping this doesn't effect the process.

I've flashed Philz Touch Recovery using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1634786
Now when I boot my phone it goes to Philz Touch Recovery. I made a back up just in case. I tried recovering and it just boots back to Philz after turning it off and back on so I'm assuming I'm missing a step here. Using Automated Fastboot I selected "install boot.img" to flash over Philz and then I installed CWM also using the same program. I can access CWM by launching RECOVERY in HBOOT, but uh I am kind of at a loss for what to do next. I think the next step would be to get a stock rom and flash that over, but before I do that I would like to be certain it isn't going to fudge up the phone even more.
Also, thank you all for your assistance and patience! :victory:
~edit~ I was able to install SuperSU.zip if that makes any difference, but again when I turn on the phone it goes straight to Philz and I can access CWM in recovery.

You only have one recovery, when you flash a recovery it replaces the old one automatically. Follow the link and download the latest Odexed stock Rom and boot.img>>>>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1546970
reflash philz recovery then mount usb storage from recovery and copy over the stock Rom you downloaded from the link above.

There is an MTP function in TWRP which should enable your pc to pick up the internal storage as a removable drive. I think it's accessed through the mount button somewhere in TWRP. You can then copy the Rom.zip to the internal storage & flash it. It does need drivers but for me on win 7 they installed as soon as it picked up the drive. Not sure if they are part of standard HTC drivers.

thanks for the reply that was my first thought mounting the internal sd as removable storage with TWRP , but i didnt work tried many TWRP and CWM and nothing works , i tried OTG too and nothing works so my only option is to ADB the rom which bring us to the drivers problems
Just a thought, maybe try flashing TWRP BIGG which is used to configure ROMs to the new storage layout. There's a thread in the Original development section called New Layout with instructions and a link. Say this cos to set up the new Layout you need to completely wipe everything, same as where you're at. Worth a try & it worked for me. Gives you a 2gb drive you can copy to as well as main internal storage.
