wait till nov 13 then you can get the nexus 4 from the play store, thats why the gnex has been taken down cuz the n4 is about to be released for the same price and it has better specs

k786, thank you for the recommendation. I've been looking at the Nexus 4 but I thought its release might drive down the cost on the Gal Nexus (refurb'ed). I have a f*&^ing locked Photon and fortunately, my contract with Sprint just ended and I got out. I love my Photon but since I can't use it with prepaid I'm trying to find a good device on the cheap (like 100 bucks cheap). I realize that's a pipe dream at the moment but the way things move in the industry I bet I'll get my wish come Xmas.
So you live in Alabama and not Birmingham, UK? Might be worth putting your state to avoid confusion as I assumed you were in the UK...

We have the devices I just don't have a computer so I been using a file manager to build the rom. But that can only take me but so far. I can't decompive or edit certain files which is a hassle cause I gitta guide my partner in adding my load of the work. I can make kernels or even aosp roms with out it. Im building a rom on the phone but if u ran V3 of the upcoming update you couldn't tell cause its so fast. Imagine what I could do if I had what I need.

I had a computer a mac book pro. But it was stolen. Id be more then hapoy to use an old machine Im not high maintenance like that. Onky thing is compiling aosp roms would be next to impossible because 512mb ram and the cpu they have. Would have to sit and compile for more the 3days. I tested on my old dell. You guys aren't required to support. It would however help everyone here out. Unless no one wants miui or aosp roms and kernels.

I second that... this "virus" guy seems kinda strange.. went in ranting on jedi x yesterday and now hes asking for 500$ to buy a computer for himself...? If he says that he "changed" his name and all then why doesnt he tell us his old name. If this dudes legit ill contribute... until we figure this out id say this is a scam... oh and why is a laptop needed?

I was only trying to help that guy. A few of the features of his rom isn't working like he advertise and I was telling him what files he was missing. And if I disclose who I was myself and a few others would be out of a job. You don't have to donate its not that serious.
If anything the rant as u put it should telk u I know my stuff. Back on topic. .

I third it and feel this thread should be stricken immediately... it's a joke... I've recently donated to 2 developers to buy Galaxy Note II's and that's because their recognized developers that do amazing work... hell ptmr3 I donated to him and I can't even use his rom as I don't have the same version! But he's done such amazing work and supported all his roms without prejudiced... if you've been doing "this for a long time long b4 android" you should have gear... donating for a device is one thing... a laptop is ridiculous... ask Santa for a retirement gift... 8)

DO NOT FLASH this rom as I do not know if it will go perfectly or catch your phone on fire. I take no responsibility for your actions.
With that said, here it is 4.3 for the N7100 and I was hoping that a developer would be able to port it. Judging from the discussion I have been reading Knox is included and causes some problems with root but you can disable Knox from your app manager. Anyone with porting experience care to weigh in?

I tried flashing a couple ROMs with this base and all they did was get as far as the boot screen, and then the phone vibrated in a pattern similar to Morse code lol XD I went to recovery and restored my last ROM and all was well. I hope we see a port soon!

My wife's phone is downloading a114mb update right now. I was just messing around and was surprised to see something start downloading.
Edit - Looks like some new bloat called Lookout was installed. Unless that was always on here. It's a system app so all I can do is disable it.

Honestly I haven't read the changelog feature update list from Samsung or Sprint but I can say that it may bring some hidden suprises.... and not the good kind. I could be wrong but if you're like many people here at XDA, you might want to hold off until more information is available from somebody who can give more details on what this OTA contains and how it will effect our phones. These days carriers are getting more and more sneaky.
I have update ready also. So going to backup. I have fake system status enabled. Im on echo rom. When I get home this evening Im going to try to download and install on to0 of echo rom. Is this a good idea? Or should I flash stock firmware take update and hopefully reroot ect.

114mb its a small update. The connection issues this phone has im at the point of not caring if It breaks root permanently. Has anyone taken update and rerooted? Three blocks from a tower and struggles to hold lte.

Honestly I haven't read the changelog feature update list from Samsung or Sprint but I can say that it may bring some hidden suprises.... and not the good kind. I could be wrong but if you're like many people here at XDA, you might want to hold off until more information is available from somebody who can give more details on what this OTA contains and how it will effect our phones. These days carriers are getting more and more sneaky.

Hopefully this fixes the Wi-Fi issues, and adds more good stuff.

I installed the update and it did nothing in the way of fixing the slow LTE/SPARK speeds. So it was a useless update to me. I have anew N4 arriving tomorrow from Sprint, maybe Ill be one of the lucky ones and get one that does not have the slow issue. Seems a handful of models out there don't have the slow data speeds. I wish they would address this issue before other lower priority issues.
So far this isn't available through Kies. I'm new to using Kies, should I expect it to become available any time soon? (because my phone is rooted it won't even check for OTA updates.)
Seems to fix all the lag problems I was having. But I already ordered a replacement. ?
