After a week, I'm still noticing new little things about my Note 2...
On the phone dialer keypad, why is there both a permanent speed dial "1" for voicemail and a dedicated voicemail button?
Seems redundant since neither one is customizable as far as I can tell.

I've been looking for a few weeks and am not finding what I want.
I'm using a WM6.1 ROM on my Apache and there is a noticeable and annoying delay between when the phone reacts and when I press one of the onscreen buttons. It also happens when I press the red/end hardware button, but I found a reg hack that mostly fixes this.
Just to be clear, I am NOT talking about a ringtone delay.
When I press the o/s button, I usually hear the tone quickly, but it is obvious that the tone is not being transmitted over the system for anywhere between 1-15 seconds! The kicker is that this also sometimes happens when I am dialing using speed-dial or dialing from contacts or PhoneWeaver.
This makes dialing using DTMF tones extremely problematic.
About two weeks ago, I stumbled upon a reg hack that described this exact scenario and had a few reg keys that were changed and/or inserted. It worked great, but for the life of me, I can't find the darn page that had it.
Any help would be appreciated.
On my T-Mobile Touch Pro 2, if I select the phone menu it starts the list of calls but then automatically starts the dialer and quits the phone menu when what I wanted to do was see a list of phone calls, and more importantly the time for the phone call and the dailer does now show this.
Nevermind... Figured out you have to hit the view softkey instead of just clicking the Phone/Missed Calls.
Ugh... this is why I hate WM6 sometimes because it has to be skinned so much that everything just behaves erratically and changes with each version of Sense.
With all its short comings, the one thing I will like about WP7 is preditability, like WM was at first...
I'm sorry if this was already asked and answered.
As the header says, I find no way to add an incoming call to the current call I'm in.
Scenario:
I'm talking to Caller1, Caller2 calls and I accept.
Issue:
1. All I can do is switch between the calls. There is no way to merge the calls. All I see four buttons [Dial pad, Speaker, Mic & Add call]. When I press 'Add call', it takes me to the initial dialpad/contacts screen.
2. There is no way for me to say which call I'm in. All it says is 'In call', the UI doesn't change when I press the swap button.
3. This is the biggest issue of all, you can not 'end' any one line with other line on hold. If you press the end button, both the lines get cut and a new call comes through from the on hold line.
Googled it and found nothing, either I'm missing something or no one seams to care.
Thanks in advance.
I've never been able to do this on Verizon. One thing I miss from my one year stint on T-Mobile.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
This was working great in Razr, I don't think its a Verizon miss but a ICS issue. Though I might be wrong.
Can someone with a GSM GN please try this and let us know?
thanks
Bump. Have never been able to make this work on VZW with any device. Curious if it's possible.
must be a verizon issue.
i have a GSM GN on t-mobile running 4.02 and when i have two calls on, the right most button changes from the add call to a merge symbol and when pressing it it merges the two calls. Just tested this right now since i wasn't sure if i had done a merge on the GN yet.
I just got my Mother in Law a Captivate Glide and it seems to be a great phone for her. She's coming from a basic phone so there is certainly a learning curve. I have a Motorola Atrix 2 and on my phone I can set the phone dialpad to to stay on for calls like voicemail & toll free calls. That way you don't have to to keep hitting the on-screen dialpad button everytime you call your voicemail. I cannot seem to find a way to do this on the Captivate Glide. Is there a way to keep the dialpad on the screen so it stays once the call starts? It doesn't really have to be for specific type calls, I think she would prefer it always be on during a call.
Hi! Since my Note 4's Lollipop update last week, I am very frustrated with what the dialer does during outgoing calls (not using HD calling right now). After I make the call, the call screen disappears into the notification bar and I have to swipe down (being careful not to touch the sensors that make the screen go black) to get the dialer back on the screen. This is really a pain when I need the keypad. I really just want the dial screen to stay on the screen full size. I can't seem to figure out how to do this after much Googling (maybe because people don't think it's a problem...but it's a very annoying problem for me!). Any ideas on how to fix this? Many thanks! Amanda PS...Incoming calls are fine...dial screen stays full size on the screen.
Welcome to the lollipop group! I am using sip accounts and when I dial, the dialer asks me whether I want to use my phone operator or one of the sip accounts. After I choose I have no dialer left.
If i swipe back to the dialer tab in the phone application, I can see 3 options:
x use touch tone keypad
< return to call screen
+ add call
and if i select "return to call screen" i can see again the dialog that asks me which phone to use for the outgoing call (while i'm still calling or even talking with the other side)
Google don't care about this, they're probably looking to phase out "internet calling" since they have their own competing product now (hangouts).

I'm having exactly the same issue on a Note 3 now with Lollipop.
