Im looking for an app that I can use to take notes while i am in a call. I use my Voicmail a lot and need to write down a dozen or so calls throughout the day. Looking for something that can easily switch between the dialer and the note page as I need to write a note go back in to press delete then go to next message then write a note...on and on and on.Does anyone know of such an app?
Have you tried evernote? It's very handy and syncs with the cloud so the notes are accessible anywhere.

yeah those are good for notes and such but WAY more than need! Just want a simople little app that will switch easily between phone and note. Even a link in the dialer to notes. I think my old HTC Touch ?!? used to pop up a note app when i pulled out the stylus? Something similar to that?

Have a look at Quill on the market, it's a pen taking app, use a stylus or your finger, you can save as a pdf or pic, might be something you would like. If you don't want to type of course.

Hovernote might work for you. It's actually an overlay application that will just sit on top of the dialer, or anything else, and lets you type into it and save as a text file.
Personally I like Papyrus. Works great for taking notes. Not sure if that is what you are looking for though.

I use Papyrus Ex, it's sort of like Papyrus except it doesn't request permissions to take over your whole phone and sniff all your contacts, all it asks for is read and write to SD card. You can change where it stores too, good for when you flash roms or backup, that way you don't lose your notes.
Try Colornote
S note that comes with s3... you can use your finger or stylus to write on pages

Okay this isnt a complete solution for jb but if you use Facebook for alot of your numbers then this will work for you. Unfortunately for now haxsync doesn't sync numbers just pics, statuses, etc etc so what i did was use an app called super backup: sms and contacts and backup contacts in an ics rom that supports fb sync then flash the jb rom and restore contacts with the same app. You should have them all and it actually makes them into regular contacts so you dont have to use fb anymore for them. If you want hq pics then use haxsync or any of the other fb picture sync apps

Np and hey you can just backup your current setup and then flash an ics rom that has fb sync and go back to the backup. Itll take maybe 30mins max but its worth it if you need the contacts like i do

I might just use my old sgs2. Sync the contacts there and copy over to my nexus

Another workaround:
I was going to start a new thread on this, but since it's my first post I feared getting flamed..
So, here's the best workaround that I've come across for phone number syncing for Facebook on Jelly Bean..
1. Go ahead and sync your facebook contacts by clearing the Facebook app cache and adding your Facebook account to your phone. It will ask you to sign in, and then it will sync contacts without phone numbers.
2. As you try to dial someone's number and you realize that it's on Facebook instead of Google, open up the Facebook app and search for that contact by clicking the "three horizontal line" icon on the top left.
3. The contact will have a phone icon next to their name if they have their phone number stored on Facebook. Go ahead and click the phone and it will bring their number up in the dialer.
4. On the bottom right of your dialer, click the "three dot" icon and select "add to contacts". You know what to do from there.
It's not the best solution, but it's the best i've seen so far. You won't have all of your contacts at once, but you can search for the ones that you know right off the bat, and then search for them as needed later on.
Thats a really long process lol i have over 300 friends so that would take forever. My process saves you alot of time and has the added benefit of turning the fb contacts into regular Google contacts.
Also haxsunc doesn't sync numbers so alone it was useless to me lol

All of your facebook contacts can be dialed directly from Facebook. So just keep them on the facebook app until you need to dial a specific Facebook contact, and then take the extra 2 seconds and save it to Google contacts before you dial it.
Plus, I'm sure everyone doesn't need that weird kid from science class from the 7th grade's phone number. This way you can pick and choose who to add as you need it.
Even if there is eventually a way to sync every facebook contact, i much prefer this method.
Thank you for the tip
I think it would be extremely handy if you could put a widget the size of the whole screen and take your stylus out and then write a quick note right on the widget without opening an app is that possible? I haven't seen any apps in the market or figured out how I could do this with s note.
Settings -> s pen -> open pop up note ?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Pop up note isnt a widget though. Id like an app that allows you to write directly on a widget so that you can write a quick note on your home screen and you will see it as soon as you look at yout phone again. Basically like a simple reminder. Id be willing to pay for an app that allowed it but im just not sure if adroid will even allow a widget to basically be "updated" in such a way.
Ah. I read the intent as having something immediately when pulling the pen, not that it had to stay saved on screen in a widget.
As widgets can be interactive, it shouldn't be that hard for a edit toggle on a note widget. Maybe I'll play around with writing one.

I'll give it a try. Do you know if there is a way to make a space in between lines/paragraphs of text when making a note for a task? You know like you hit enter to skip to the next line and hit it twice to leave an empty line so you can write something with a new topic below it? For example:
Topic 1 (then hit enter)
Topic 2
It seems like a pretty basic feature but I can't figure out how to do it with Any.Do. Every time I try to hit the enter button, it just submits my note as if I am done typing when really I want to go to the next line. It's somewhat annoying now because as you are typing in the note box for a task, it only shows one long sentence/line of text. It would be much easier to read/input longer notes if you could add in blank lines and see the entire note at once instead of just 1 line.
Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to make a new line. Although I do see what you're saying, it would make it easier to write long reminders.

That's too bad but it is a great app otherwise. Hopefully they add it later. Someone had mentioned in the feedback requested feature setting that issue with chrome and Any.Do and they responded with they are working on it. Hopefully if they fix it in chrome, they will add the same feature to the app.
The best thing to do is to mail them. They are very responsive and they might add it. I've mailed them a few times and they have responded.

I use a combination of Evernote and GTasks. The latter is an app that integrates with Google Tasks and Google Calendar so that works really well. It lets me set priority an d due date/time, not sure about location. but it does pick up the location from Google Calendar pretty well.

Apparently it is possible to write directly on the S Planner month view with the S Pen while in landscape mode on the Note 10.1. But I can't find this function in the Note 8. Is there a way to enable this, or is this only possible on the Note 10.1? Is there another app that allows this? Preferable with a month view widget that shows the s pen marks?

I don't have a Note 10.1, but I'm guessing it doesn't. It seems they just changed the same option from landscape only to portrait only. It would have been a cool feature. But without that, I have no reason at all to not switch to Nova. The potential for using the S Planner was the only thing holding me back. I don't use any of the Samsung apps, and I like Nova way better than Touchwiz, Lecture Notes better than S notes, Google Now/search WAY better than S Voice, and I'm sure I will find a better calendar too. I'm trying two now that has a monthly calendar widget. One of them supports the S Pen hover too, so maybe in time they will add more features.

It may be good, but I'm always of the mind that if a native app does the trick without issues then why add apps that can misbehave or maybe cause battery drains. If I'm not happy with an app i look for a replacement but not if it works fine. That's just my preference.

Handcent for me. I have been using it for years. I like the customization by contact. You can have different notifications, fonts, backgrounds, sounds and vibrations for each individual. Very nice to know who texted you with customized notifications. I also like the Oops delay. You can set a lag from when you hit send until it sends.
All these features helps visually, physically and by sound who you are communicating with. Less likely to send the wrong text to the wrong person.

I won't use anything from CM these days. Not after what they did to some developers when they became Cyanogen Inc. They basically stole work of other people and left them out to dry. I used to use nothing but CM now, it's just not for me anymore.
Hangouts
I use hangouts, and love how they integrate SMS and Chats.
I had a question though, is there any way our SMSes can be integrated with Gmail Chats?
i.e. If you chat normally on Hangouts, it shows up in Chat history in my Gmail when I see in the browser.
It will be very convenient to have my SMS show up there as well, can search, copy, paste, archive and backup easily.
Anyone else with same thoughts?
