So I finally rooted, for me the main reason was voodoo sound and apparently stock rom is currently not supported. I came across supercurio's twitter and it seems that us Gnote2 users have some hope our GN2 supported soon! here are some quotes from supercurio's twitter.
"Okay #GalaxyNoteII is now my favorite device of all times "
Gino Tizon @gtizon
@supercurio wow it must be great for you to say that. Just curious what's the diff between the Note2 and Galaxy S if they both have wolfson?
François Simond François Simond @supercurio
@gtizon in sound, not much. #GalaxyNoteII wins as music player (especially network audio) thanks to its stupid huge battery. "
Just a heads up to those that use/need this app.

This is great news for MIUI users. The developers of MIUI has started the 2.3 development and will soon see the new version.
From MIUI thread,
Between the edition is too much to ask when the oil has kept the equalizer like ah, here talk about a unified music player schedule below it:
1. Why has not the equalizer, when there will be the equalizer?
Development team will start from March to 2.3 migration models one by one, the equalizer will be developed on the basis of 2.3 (not the same as many underlying support, now in the 2.2 to do a lot of resources will be wasted), so it is estimated to be 3 commence until mid-next, I hope we can be patient about. We also want to let everyone hear the best sound level quickly, but because of limited manpower development team, a lot of strong demand for oil is full of 2.3, so we should look at the progress of coordination, so the EQ development team promised to plan than the beginning to be a bit late, I hope you a lot of understanding, a lot of support ah!
2. Music player will have any significant function of the back ah?
Follow-music side of the main functions are as follows:
- UI and interaction of small-scale adjustments, fit a new version of UI
- EQ (dependent on 2.3)
- More audio formats supported (dependent on 2.3)
- Desktop lyrics
If you have any other function of strong demand and problems of feedback in the bug open to discuss new features or paste, here you can Replies Oh, but the big fear of missing the water, said. . .

Hi guys,
I am running the AOKP (Build 27) and I can't seem to get Voodoo Sound Plus to work. I have been reading forums but I can't seem to find a proper fix without changing Roms. Has anyone found a fix? Or alternatively (although I am happy with AOKP) has anyone found a ROM that works with Voodoo but is as good as AOKP?
Thanks!

Afaik voodoo doesn't work with galaxy nexus.
OK i can confirm it definitely doesn't work with gnex.
Its not a wolfson amp.
Anyway the rom has nothing to do with voodoo, its the kernel.

You need to do some research man. There is no voodoo sound for the gnex on any kernel (it's kernel based btw, not ROM).

Okay thanks. Didn't know that the GNEX doesn't support it. Bummer. Looks like I'll still be using my Galaxy Tablet for music!
Give it a 2nd chance, I find my experience with any other Android phone horrible in terms of music saved for the Galaxy S and this one (S2 close but not as good). The included DAC of GNex is fairly good IMO, despite being not a Wolfson but TI.

You're right, it's not that bad at all. Even without Voodoo Sound I still get quite a good quality. Using Poweramp greatly increases the overall quality IMO (and I use TF10 and Westone 4R earphones with a Fiio E11 amp). I recently just installed the Franco Kernel (although I'm not sure if the Franco, Nightly or the Imoseyon is the best one out of the 3 available via the app). It has a "high performance sound" option but I haven't really tested it yet. Battery life is improved though!
VooDoo Louder paid* by Supercurio which boosts the volume on Samsung phones was updated recently on the market. a seriously goood update.
just thought i'd share. http://bit.ly/TuLbm3
I've found an interesting post on The Verge about some good chance we'll see BT 4.0 support in the upcoming release (credits: hecareth):
http://www.theverge.com/2013/3/20/4127594/bt-4-0-in-aosp-i-think-its-coming
What does this mean ?
- we will be able to use newer hardware with BT 4.0 BLE, which is alot more energy efficient
- having 4.0 support, we need a > 3.5 kernel, so we will get a new kernel
- next major release is coming to GN
*Of course those are speculations, so we can only wait and hope.
Fingers crossed

Sadly not alot of people even care about this issue. There have been no news articles on engadget, cnet, gizmodo...anywhere to call out google to make this more public. Even here on XDA most people dont care, they just want to flash a new rom everyday. I care and try to keep up on this issue as much as i can but its hard when nobody else does. Its a big issue that google has yet to address.
I think there's kinda a chicken and an egg issue. There are tons of accessories and 3rd party hardware for the iPhone exactly because things like this are supported. Not for Android. Google has quite some work to do in the future releases.

Finally we will get support for bluetooth 4.0, Will this possibly improve the quality of streaming audio when paired with a non bluetooth 4.0 device?

Well, in that response from the G engineer he said they implemented a simple codec right now, but might come with newer codecs and better codecs later :
"BLE will be the next major feature we are going to add. Other a2dp codec can be added. We only implemented SBC because it's mandatory."
There is something i really dont understand about the touchwiz roms compared to the jelly bean 4.2.2 roms in original development.. i listen to alot of music and i also play a few games here and there i have a deactivated device... but i love the overclocking and undervolting features from every rom that i can flash agat's recovery and kernel or blu kuban's kernel also (usually have it clocked to 50mhz-up to 1600mhz at the tops side because it runs like a dream) heres the problem yes i love having that feature but what kills it for me is i usually uninstall as much as i can from what i dont need in it because i am also on the uscc version of the e4gt (im on the SCH-R760) and then i proceed to install vepier4android also (link is down below for whoever needs to know what it is) i run both versions of it as well (fx and xhifi) along side the full version of poweramp off the market with dvc enabled and music fx checked in poweramp everything else off besides the limiter.. i cant get over the fact of how much better it sounds with every single 4.2.2 aosp/aokp/jelly bean rom out there in original development... but in android development touchwiz roms do not like this combination at all in any way.. i cant understand what it is.. the audio cuts out sometimes, treble and vocies cut down alot when bass hits (doesnt happen in 4.2.2 at all), just doesnt sit very well together.. also to add i unistall every other eq that i see with titanium backup and push both viper apps to system apps and still the same issue.. ive tried everything under the sun but cant come to a conclusion.. its killing me not having the extra cpu headroom from agat's and would seriously love some insight/explanation or possibly some ideas on how this could be fixed i will try anything to get this to go well together in touchwiz.. i can decompile and rezip roms and mess with settings before flash i can just about do anything just need to know what is wrong or what is conflicting with them or something... please anybody that has an idea let me know i would greatly appreciate it.. thanks in advance

Samsung adds in their own audio mods in TouchWiz, it really is just testing what works with what and finding what sounds best on YOUR device. All devices are different, that's why most include an app to tweak the sound. I love the Samsung Optimized AC!D Audio on my phone, it doesn't play well with my wife's E4GT, she uses Viper on TouchWiz. I haven't tried playing with AOSP Sound in awhile but if you try any of my ROMs they all have my combo audio mod on them. I've got a lot to say on this subject but I'll let you respond to see exactly where you are going with this.

hmm makes sense a bit now

that gives me alot more insight to the problem actually thank you lots bilg. but as to where im going with this mostly is i would love it so much to have touchwiz with alot of it taken out and zero audio mods so that the viper4android can be installed to where there is no issues like what i was receiving with me trying it or if there is a way to remove the tweaks from build.prop or elsewhere im sure i can do it myself i just dont know where everything that deals with audio mods (etc. acid audio) is located. and of course one of the overclocking kernels that reach 1600mhz or close (etc, agats and blu kuban kernel)
