Im sorry if this is already posted.
So im trying to flash the Rom Frosty JB 4.1.1-v7 i looked at the guides and steps that the developer gave.
After i follow the steps and reboot, it gets stuck at Samsung Galaxy S3 boot. I waited for 3 mins and then i rebooted again but it gets stuck at the same place.
Im using the T-mobile t999.
And again Im Sorry if this is already posted somewhere.
First boot always takes a long time, I dont think 3 minutes is giving it enough time. Try rebooting but if it goes more like 20 minutes then id say restore backup and redownload rom.

I know it takes along time but when i look at other videos they go pass the [Samsung Galaxy S3] Boot, mine gets stuck. i also tried what you said i rebooted after 20 minutes and re-downloaded the rom but it still gets stuck.
Try to reboot into recovery and factory reset, wipe dalvik/cache.

Are you just flashing the frosty zip? I ask because i had problems because i was having a similar issue caused by flashing ktoons newest kernel which is incompatible with frosty
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Yup could be a kernel issue you might need to flash another before install or full wipe.

Hey guys nothing major here it's just that every time I reboot to recovery, in the middle, twrp just restarts and goes back to the splash screen. Then it does the transistion and everything is good. But it gets pretty annoying and scary. When I was wiping system to test my rom, the recovery just restarted and I was freaked out. But it reloaded again.
Any ideas. If not, I'll just deal with it. But I will never, I repeat, never go to CWM.
Have you tried to reflash twrp again? Did the problem persist?

I can't seem to find the information for my situation, so I'm asking for help.
I flashed CM10 onto my phone about a month ago. I wanted to try it out, and I liked it, but not quite as much as stock. Today, I tried to flash the stock ATT rom onto the phone. Went through all of the correct steps, factory data reset, cache wipe, went through odin with everything the same as when I flashed CM10. Waited about 10 mins, odin says pass, my phone reboots, goes through the galaxy s3 logo, att logo, then gets stuck at the next samsung logo. I can load it into recovery, and download, so I know this can be fixed, but without a backup, how might I do this?
Recovery > factory reset.
Its a common problem for I think the newer s3s.

Its all of them. Not just newer.
Ok, i'm not a noob (at least i don't think so),
I've flashed every which rom before to play with, no problems ever.
Currently i'm on CM10 Nightly, with stock CM10 kernel and last ATT Modem (JB)
Wanted to go and try out the TW official release but need to stay rooted for TB.
I got CWM - cleared cache, cleared data, cleared davlik, formated /system /data /cache /sdcard
Went to download mode, kicked off ODIN
phone reboots and gets stuck at Samsung glowing loader
Tried above with TeamWin recovery - same thing
Tried to dirty flash over CM10 - same thing.
Tried to flash cache/davlik/ etcc with CM10 installed and flash with Odin, same thing.
Tried even all above steps with stock / unrooted JB rom, same thing.
Re-downloaded both stock and rooted roms and tried all of the above steps, same thing.
I can Nandroid back to CM10 no problem and it loads with no issues....
I'm about to give up on TW but just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas what am i missing?
Try reinstalling the samsung usb drivers. Seems like something went wrong while flashing from ODIN...

Could also be an issue with the ROM file itself...where did you download it?

After flashing the rom you need to do a factory reset in recovery
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Whenever it gets stuck, hold down the power button, up volume, and home key... Once shut off let go do the same, when you feel it vibrate, let off the power button and hold up and home key. It should reboot into recovery and you can do a factory reset to wipe your data. wipe Data/factory rest and wipe cache, then reboot. Mine booted right up. :good:
Someone else's post that I saved for myself on note pad for when it happens to me so I don't forget

Not working for me.
I'm stuck at Samsung Logo.
Tried to do the factory reset in stock recovery that's loaded after ROM install with Odin, no go.
Installed CWM recovery and tried to do reset / wipe cache/ wiped davlik/ no go
Tried to re-download ROM and tried again, no go.
Tried to load TeamWin recovery and do the same thing no go.
Still stuck at Samsung logo -
Waited good 15 20 min and still stuck
sorry i am at a loss
Try downloading a different version of tw stock rom.
It could most likely be because the original one you downloaded in corrupted or a incomplete file.

It could take 5 or more minutes to fully boot up the first time. Always let it do its thing. It's easy to get anxious.

exactly what steps are you taking in recovery to do this? are you coming from stock? i would odin back to stock firmware and have a go at synergy again. there are rooted stock firmware downloads in android development section. after installation/root/custom recovery:
Boot into custom recovery
Select Wipe data/factory reset
Select Wipe Cache
Select Advanced and Wipe Dalvik Cache
Select Mounts and Storage and format /system
Go back out to the main recovery screen and choose the "install .zip from SD Card"
Once the phone is booted, let it sit for 10 minutes, reboot again
I wasn't doing the mount/format step and will it giveme the last option to reboot or will I need to remove the battery?

Also something I was unsure of, after the the rom install when it takes you to the disable recovery on start up??
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Here were my exact steps,
1) wipe data factory reset
2) wipe cache
3) wipe dalvick
4) install rom with clockwork and reboot.
I was running Cyanogen 10 ROM before attempting to flash.
Can someone help?

What state is your phone in right now ?
I assume you can get into recovery mode ? Have you trie dto flahs any other ROM's ?
I just waited 50 mins with the black screen, then I pull the battery turn it on and still the black screen. Then I pull the battery restart into recovery and put cyanogen10 back on. I don't understand why this ROM is different than any other one I have flashed

Going from custom ROM custom to a stock type ROM (Synergy) can create issues. Synergy while a good ROM is a bit buggy at times. Honestly if you want to flash it again I would flash a rooted stoc 4.1.1 ROM and then flash synergy.
It's just a well known issue with going from different type ROM's. Also I prefer to do a full/super wipe if I decide to go to a ported ROM or back from AOKP or something like that

as hednik and i have both stated now, you need to revert to stock before flashing a touchwiz-based rom. the direction you want to go with your device (touchwiz) is a little more complicated than going the aosp-based/source route. be patient, start over from stock, and you'll get there. i would also have a seperate touchwiz custom rom downloaded that you're interested in. in the event your device has nothing but problems with synergy, you could wipe data and flash the different rom to see if it would take instead.
Thanks for the help
