CM10 no wifi or 3G service - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I am running CM10-20121018 and can't get my wifi working. I have wiped and reflashed, but nothing. I also went back and flashed a back-up and the wifi and service is fine.
I can't seem to find an accurate thread on fixing this, any help would be appreciated.
Phone: HTC Droid Inc 2, Verizon
CM10
Network Mode: CDMA/EvDo
I also just realized that my GPS doesn't work.
Help, please!

Which cm10? Aeroevans? Or dkstunna's? Are you sure you flashed the one for our phone?

Did everything as stated but it gets stuck on the Cyanogen boot screen. Tried it a few times after restoring.
I'm giving up.... for now I think I may just do with crappy 3G and no wifi.

Just making sure you know what a full wipe is and allowing others to Search Full Wipe and know what it means. When I fist started flashing I wasn't quite sure what Full Wipe meant.
Here are the instructions:
In Clockwork Recover
scroll to mounts and storage
select format /system -> Yes - Format
---Done---
Select format /data -> Yes - Format
--Done--
Select format /cache-> Yes - Format
--Done--
Now you may flash a new rom
doing a restore doesn't wipe the /system which could be interfering with the CM10 rom depending on what you are coming from

Figured it all out... it works fine, I live in NYC and Verizon has lost a lot of its infrastructure due to the storm. 3G is back up today as normal, I simply reset my router.
Thanks for all the help thought.
Cheers

im having the same problem

Would make sense that a hurricane coming through may disrupt service for a bit....

There is a thread in the development section about setting up a2ext so there might be some info in there. I would think it would be a similar process but no idea. If however its done and you have to format your sd card, MAKE SURE TO BACK IT UP. Formatting will delete everything on your sd card

Back when I had a htc hero, I asked the same question and so did others.. If I recall a dev told me to pretend I'm setting my SD card for A2SD but to put 0 for swap size and 0 for the memory reserved as well try that, that's what I did and took it off, then reformat it in the PC as well to be in the safe side if you want.

Ok i set them both to 0 (zero)
Now i get continuous cyanogen loop. I deleted catche, and Dalvik cache.
Should I "Wipe data/factory reset" ?
then apply cyanogen 6.1.1 again
or does the "Wipe data/factory reset" root?

Yeah, I'd suggest you do a full wipe and flash a ROM of your choice, I'd recommend the latest CM7 nighty! It is by far flawless to me and fast! Btw always do a full wipe when flashing ROM's as it will delete any old files that can cause issues and nope it wont lose you root

I flashed the one thats on Rom Manager
whichever that is lol
It was pretty nice, had wifi connection issue, but now that I started my phone fresh, it should all work out nice!
Had wayy too much garbage.
Only thing im waiting for now is the market to stop saying "starting download" forever and actually restore some of my apps lol

[Q] Installing Google apps breaks hotspot.

Anyone else having a similar issue as mine?
I was trying to troubleshoot some unrelated issue with my phone, which eventually caused me to flash my ROM from CM9 back to stock and back to CM9 again.
After I flashed CM9, I forgot to install the Google apps package in clockwork mod and continued to boot my rom.
I had discovered that my wifi tether (built into CM9) worked, but then rebooted and installed the gapps package after realizing that I hadn't.
After I had reinstalled the gapps package, I proceeded to check if my wifi hotspot still worked, but it did not (immediately after I engage the hotspot, it automatically deactivates).
Maybe reflash the rom and gapps again?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Only suggestion I can offer would be to track down the hotspot process in your Apps Management. Go inside of the process and do a Force Stop and Clear Data to get it back as if you were starting it for your first time. I know it's the CM9 integrated WiFi tethering so you might want to check what the process is called. I've spoofed a lot of programs into re-working that way. I hope it works for you too - good luck!

I launched terminal emulator, ran the "top" command, and saw the two services which I believe represent the CM9 integrated wifi hotspot:

I tried this on EL30 modem, then upgraded to FC09. The hot spot still breaks every time after I install gapps (I just checked, and it's the latest version).
Try reflashing the ROM, but in CWM go to Mount and Storage and format System/Data/Cache. Not using the "wipe data/factory reset" in the main screen. And wipe Dalvik too.

There is an FC09 but wtogami did not make a seperate thread for it. Here is one of the posts:

You are right, this might not fix my issue. Does anyone know why installing gapps on my phone breaks the integrated (and third-party) wireless hotspot?

If coming from a different rom then yes. If you are coming from an RC candidate you may be able to get away with a cache wipe. I am going to try that later myself. Of course have a nandroid just in case... yada yada...

Thanks! I know if you are on any different rom you must always do a full wipe. But on nightly I figured maybe both cache will be enough? And if it is a major change I am not sure if they tell you to wipe. I also noticed on the CM website I do not see the gaps. I can always grab them from CM7 on xda but thought it was weird. I was always a big CM but I have actually tried the Mod 5.01 sense rom and I have not went back since. Everything runs great on this rom. But I would like to go back to CM7 here soon at some point and would like to try the nightlies.

Yes, rom manager allows you to add in the GAPPS... Easy as pie. When everything works. I tried both ways and kept getting failures.
I was wondering if gapps were included since I did not see them seperate.
weird, my incoming mms pics are all black and white. Anybody have that prob?
I keep trying to download the latest nightly and it downloads a 0KB file. Anyone else getting this? I am also getting the same thing when trying RC3.

I have Flashed three roms on it with the latest being the Liquid beta Jellybean Rom.
Each time, bootloop. I leave it for like... Ten minutes, still bootloop.... I evetually have to pull battery, and restore from recovery. Why can i not put any custom roms on?

Well, you should be wiping data.
Check out Post 2 of the guide in my sig.
And also (potentially) download another kernel and flash it after the rom if it still refuses to boot.

[Q] bad cell reception with CM10.2

Hello,
I am ready to pull my hair out! I installed the Cyanogenmod yesterday and my cell reception is terrible. I usually get full bars of 4g coverage in my driveway but nothing since install. I have an AirRave signal booster in the house and I get no data connectivity without wifi and 2 bars when I am standing right next to the signal booster. Different areas of town where I used to be able to count on full 3g coverage - 2 bars and no data. I don't know what to do. I am about to wipe and start over again. Any one, please help...
I have a Sprint GS3 SPH-L710
Did you dirty flash? I never had any problems with CM10.2 connectivity. You might have a bad download or something didn't get flashed correctly. I would do a clean install, ( wipe dalvik, cache, data) and re-download, flash the ROM and gapps .

Sound like an APN issue If your only having problems with your data. I've heard of ppl having to go and flash a TW ROM to update their APNs and get it working correctly again.

The above link is from the Note 2 forum (my phone). I was doing some scouting on the S3 (wife's phone) and saw this thread and thought of the one I linked.
I was having major data problems on cm10.2 even after I would go back to a touchwiz rom, update profile prl then do a "clean flash" of cm.
Problem is the way that touchwiz and cm handle the file system.
If you have a data problem in cm, flash a touchwiz ROM, update profile and prl, then go to your file explorer and delete the folder "sdcard/0/android/data/" (the only folder you need to delete is data - since I have everything on my external sdcard, I deleted the whole 0 folder.) Then do a real clean flash of cm and you should be just fine.
Obviously, if you're concerned about losing any data, back it all up before you do anything.

Thank you for the link. I am a little confused, being the newb that I am, do I have to flash a touch wiz rom to grab the APN? and then go back to CM? It seems like a lot of work...I know, nothing good comes easy...although I was hoping for a fix within CM.
Just another question, what's the harm in staying in CM and 3g only besides not being able to access LTE for the moment?
One thing I do know is any aosp ROM will have this problem. Something to do with ril or to that nature. I hunted a lot of threads on various sprint phones having the same problem.
I just stuck with tw cause the data speeds are so much better, in the same spot on aosp I get about 1.3mbs and tw about 5.5mbs. I hate tw to, can't stand it but it works
