Is there any way to make reverse Wi-Fi tethering working?

Yes you can.. U have to create a wifi hotspot on laptop.. For procedures search in Google how to create wifi hotspot in laptop...

I know. It is very difficult to connect android thru infrastructure like wpa_supplicant/ad-hoc. I gave up on that before....

Software. .. it needs new kernel. ..Once that is available. . ..The developers can port the feature from note 3 rom

No hardware thing... Titoo 7..has solved major issues and reporting that it is running on his phone.. he is trying to get it out for us... check the themed and apps section
