Is there a way to make a T-mobile data SIM work in the Note II? Would I need to get an unlocked phone, possibly Canadian AWS version, to make this work? I would like to know if this is possible before I actually buy the phone so I don't waste my money.

I'm with t-mobile unlimited everything with their new truly unlimited data. I like their service and been with them for along time.
I am ready for a new phone and been doing research on the Galaxy Note 2 and would like to purchase it. I do not want to get the t-mobile branded version and would like an unlocked/international/bloatware free device NIB.
My main concern is getting the correct 'version' (N7100, N7105, etc...) I want to be able to use the HSPA+ t-mobile calls their 4g. And I also want to use their LTE band(1700) when it comes available next year. I don't really want to purchase two different Galaxy note 2 versions. Can someone point me in the right direction on which one to purchase? I just want to make sure I purchase the right model thank you!

As that is the specific t-mobile model... correct?
I would like to purchase the unbranded and unlocked model with the same bands. I just want to avoid buying an international note 2 and receiving to only have 2g forever. Just as long as it have t-mobile lte band to use in 2013. that's all i want from the my note 2.
ok my question is this,
I am trading up an old iPhone 4s for a T-Mobile Galaxy Note II, is it possable to debrand or install AT&T rom on this phone to make it an AT&T phone?
or any kind of work around to get it running on AT&T LTE network
let me know
Thanks
P.S. i do not have the phone in hand yet so i am asking if it is worth the trade

I know the tmobile note 2 is capable of lte but.it's not enabled in the default firmware, and I'm not sure if the frequencies will be the same as tmo hasn't even started rolling out their lte. My guess is it's the same hardware, but I would do as much searching as possible before doing the trade. If it's possible, I'm sure someone here at xda will get it working if it's possible, but it hasn't been out long enough for any definitive info. (At least nothing I've seen)

It should run on the AT&T HSPA+ (3.5G) network with no problems (as long as it's carrier/SIM unlocked) as the phone should have the 850/1900 GSM bands that AT&T uses. I'm not sure about LTE...but I don't think it will work.

I want to get this phone but might want to switch carriers soon. I was planning on doing the Sprint EasyPay for it and paying off the rest of the phone if or when I decide to switch carriers. After I pay it off in full and unlock it, would I be able to use it on T-mobile, AT&T, Verizon, or any of their MVNO's? Basically what I am asking is does the Sprint S6 support the necessary bands that the other networks operate on, and if so, would calling or texting still work? I have heard of some phones that have a SIM card slot for the LTE SIM on Sprint, but voice and text don't work once unlocked and used on another carrier.
Thanks,
Kyle
I would really like to know the answer to this as well. I have been searching without a definitive result.
Specifically, can unlocked Sprint phone be used on Verizon?
I know they are two diffrent networks with CDMA & GSM. Some phones now cover both. I've read the note 4 was working like this. I'm curious of a couple things.
1. Is it really possible? To go from at&t to verizon with a note wdge.
2. If so, could you flash a verizon rom onto the at&t note edge to have all the verizon stuff?
Well I haven't been looking into this
But from first-hand experience, if you do
Only talk and text messages will work
Anything data-based will not work as the AT&T Note Edge does not have the correct radios to actually get data
You need the CDMA radios to actually use data
and secondly, the AT&T Note Edge (Same with the Note 4) has been bootloader locked since the release of the phone
Meaning the AT&T Note Edge cannot be modified system-wise
We are still trying to get stable temp-root
Not a good sight
And the Verizon Note 4 (Edge as well) have been bootloader unlocked since April of last year
Meaning customization level is higher than the AT&T variant
Now thing is, the Verizon variant is bootloader locked by default
and you need to have a good amount of knowledge of ADB to actually unlock it
and a lot of patience
but the community is there to help you out with any of your questions
As long as the phone has the Samsung eMMC
So why bother with the AT&T variant and just go get the Verizon variant
Bootloader unlocked, and correct radios
Seems like a plus to me
and the Verizon variant has GSM radios so it can work with AT&T and T-Mobile, and yes
It is unlocked by default so you don't need to contact Verizon to unlock the phone

What will I need to do in order for my Samsung Verizon Note Edge to receive Data LTE and MMS fully on the Tmobile Network......?

All you need is to first of all
Find the APN settings for your specific carrier
After you do, place the SIM card in and then go to the settings, Mobile Networks, APN settings, and then set it up how it is intended to be
I have a pretty good deal on an AT&T Galaxy Tab S4 T837, and I was wondering I if get it unlocked, would it work with a T-Mobile smartphone sim? I know it doesn't have a dialer or native texting like the international model, and I know it wouldn't work with an AT&T smartphone sim, but since it would be a different carrier maybe it wouldn't know the difference? I happen to have a smartphone line that I'm not using on T-Mobile, and I don't want to buy a separate tablet plan.
