[Repository] JB - ICS - AOKP & Stock APK's - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I had a thread on the GSII Forums for an APK Repository and it was heavily used. Since I'm now on the GSIII and starting devlopment I figured I'd start the APK Repository for this forum as well. I will do my best to keep a complete list of all Stock and AOKP APK's. I WILL NOT add any paid apk's to this list so please don't ask. Also, if I include any modded apk's or customized items that other developers created I'll be sure and give credit to them.
Hope this thread helps.
** I am not responsible for your phone if anything happens. Please flash at your own risk and be sure to MAKE BACKUPS. **
The main purpose behind this thread is to have a central location for all the Stock Jelly Bean and ICS APK's. I will include Mods for APK's as well as I find them.
Instructions for Flashing APK's
**Most APK's are just like any other app. You download and install it like any other app.
Some APK's are system apps (Email, Exchange, Messages, any app that can't be deleted without using TiBu). For these APK's you will need to:
DO A NANDROID BACKUP or backup your phone however you see fit. If you fail to do this and something goes wrong, please don't start trolling this thread.
1. Download the APK
2. Use a Root Explorer and move the downloaded APK to your system/app folder
3. Reboot in to Recovery
4. Wipe Cache Partition and Dalvik Cache (Dalvik Cache is located under 'Advanced')
5. Reboot Phone and Enjoy
*NOTE: If you have any permission issues with system APK's or Moving them to the system/app folder you may need to change their permissions. To do this, open a root explorer and navigate to the system/app folder and find the APK you moved there. Check the permissions and make sure they are set to rw-r--r--. If you have any other issues try wiping dalvik cache again and rebooting your phone.
Here is a free root explorer that I use, there are several others in the market.

MODS & Custom APK's
Flashable .zip Files
GS3 Files
All GS3 Media Files (Alarms, Ringtones, UI, Notifications) - Thanks LilChris06 for putting these together.
Email Exchange Security Bypass - I have a thread for this HERE but will include the files in the post as well.
*After you flash the Email Security Mod make sure to WIPE CACHE and DALVIK CACHE BEFORE REBOOTING. Once rebooted, reset up your exchange email, grant exchange Admin privilages when prompted, and you are done. You shouldn't need to set a password or pin.
Stock TW Jelly Bean - Download This One
AOKP Jelly Bean - Download This One
Remove 'AccuWeather.com ' logo from LockScreen.
To do this you need to modify your framework-res.apk.Navigate to res\drawable-xhdpi and find the .png labled 'keyguard_lockscreen_ic_weather_logo.png'. I have attached the image you can download and move to this folder.
Instructions:
1. Download this .png
2. Use a root explorer (ES File Explorer or Root Browser Lite), Copy the .png you downloaded above and Navigate to your system folder
3. Once in system folder, navigate to system/framework/framework-res.apk
4. Open framework-res.apk and navigate to res/drawable-xhdpi
5. Paste the .png into this folder (overwite the image if prompted).
6. Restart your phone, and the accuweather logo should be gone. Enjoy
Extended Power Menu - I have tested on Stock JB.
If you try flashing this on something other than a stock JB rom please make a backup prior to flashing. I have not tested this on anything else. Also, most custom ROM's have an extended power menu by default.
Download Extended Power Menu Here * I pulled this power menu from GraffixNYC's ported JB Forum. Thank you.
more Mods to come....

Key Lime Pie (KLP) Updates? Regardless...this is my final reserve.

This will be a great thread,I can tell. I noticed however, you didn't mention anything about changing permissions on system apk's. Does the dakvik and cache wipe reset them?

I've never needed to set permissons for the service APKs when I add them directly to the system/app folder or if I'm replacing system apk's with something different. If I need to update the thread to include how to change permissions I'll be more than happt to do so. I assume the system/app folder has permissions assigned to it and any APK's that fall within that folder inherit the same permissions. If I'm wrong let me know.
Thanks for the heads up.

Can I flash the stock sounds zip over CM10? Or am I completely misunderstanding what it's meant for?

I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question but, do stock jelly bean apps work on stock ics ?
The reason I ask is because I tried the above steps for the stock messging app from jelly bean and it was a no go.

Some apps will work and some will not. If they are system apps that can't be deleted without using titanium backup or manually removing them from the system/app folder more than likely you'll have issues with them.
There are some very stable ported JB leaks and aokp roms available, why not just flash a JB rom

Is the S Planner widget APK in any of these (I see one named "Calendar" but I'm not sure if that's S Planner, or if it is if it's the widget). I have the app on my phone but not the widget (using KYAN rom) and would like to reinstall the widget somehow.
Thanks.

Ya I'm currently on a stock ported JB ROM that I've just tweaked to my liking. Best of both worlds.
I should have all the apks uploaded tomorrow so hopefully you can find the widget you want.

This is a great idea! Suggestion if its ok. Maybe indicate which are Touchwiz dependent or are safe to install regardless of Rom.. I can see a new person thinking they can download the original apk and install it on a non Touchwiz rom. We know how much everyone reads before flashing.

I have the APK's broken out in the OP based off ROM (TW and AOKP). If users decide they don't want to read the OP and flash something that isn't made for their rom....I can't be responsible for that. I'm also not certain what apps will work on different roms and which ones will not. I haven't tested all apk's on all ROM's. I'm just doing my best to provide a centralized location that members can come to and download apk's they have lost or need.

Any way to get the group MMS apk in here?

[MOD] Enable Spell Checker on Stock ROM XXBLG9

Hi people, this is my very first contribution to this forum. Basically, after switching to CM9 then back to stock, I felt that I was really missing out the ICS spell checking feature (which I don't know why Samsung disabled it).
While searching this forum, I stumbled upon this thread here, which enables the spell checking feature on S2 ICS. The guy posted the changes he made to the files, and I simply applied the same changes to the S3 files (with some improvisation, as they are a bit different).
I tested the mod with a deodexed XXBLG9 ROM here. However, theoretically, it should work on other deodexed stock-based ROMs.
-----------------------
Instruction:
1. Install AOSP Jelly Bean Keyboard from Play Store (link)
2. Reboot to recovery and create NANDroid backup (IMPORTANT!)
3. Use any root explorer to replace \system\app\SecSettings.apk and \system\framework\framework.jar with the files provided below.
4. Make sure that the permission and owner of the files are the same as original (0644)
5. Reboot
Voila!
I was thinking to create a CWM-flashable zip file, but since I am still n00b here, I couldn't. Can somebody teach me how? Better yet, just post a reply here, and I will add it to this post.
EDIT: Taught myself how to create the zip (I was doing it wrong the first time round). The CWM-compatible zip is now added, including uninstaller.
EDIT2: Uploaded the wrong zip files. Please redownload if you downloaded before.

Can anyone help me implement this on the stock Galaxy ROM?
Starting from the jelly bean update, the language files are completely removed from the system's apk and jar files. It would probably require more than just a simple mod to enable it. I will try when i have time.

[MOD] & [HOWTO] CM9 / ICS Pattern Lockscreen w/o emergency call button

As the title says this MOD will remove your emergency call button in the pattern lockscreen.
I´ve modified the Pattern Lockscreen this way the button diasppears. So no more unwanted emergency calls while you have your phone in your pocket.
Just remember. Noone else will be able to call with your phone in case of emergency unless he/she knows how to unlock your phone.
Since there are various custom ROMs with a modified framework and since the framework in Arcos CM9 may differ in each release, I decided to write a little HOWTO.
First you need is my modified pattern lockscreen xml file you can download here:
Rapidshare or Dropbox
Extract it and copy the framework-res.apk from your phone or your flashable ROM to your PC.
Open the framework-res.apk with 7zip and navigate to the res\layout folder there.
Copy and paste my keyguard_screen_unlock_portrait.xml into this folder to replace the current xml file there.
Close 7zip and move the modified framework-res.apk to your sdcard.
Move it to the system folder in your phone and set the permissions to rw-r-r.
Use Root Explorer for the following step!
After the permissions were set correctly, move it to the framework folder and reboot your phone.
That´s all.
Below is a flashable Zip for Arcos beta3.
Rapidshare
Dropbox Mirror
yow honey!
you rock!
-salute!

Well. The modification is inside the vanilla framework and this mod is flashing the modified vanilla framework, so can´t tell. But as long as the framework isn´t modified there, it will. Unfortunally a lot of custom ROMs are using modified frameworks. These would need to be modified as well.

[REQUEST] Inverted Dialer & Contacts

I'm using aura style 3 status bar(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334926) and holo launcher hd right now.
I guess enox 4.0 wont be needed if you can provide the inverted dialer and contacts.
BTW i'm using odexed stock rom, just rooted. I liked dmod but it seems to have a bug on wifi hotspot function so i'm waiting for a new fixed version to change my rom.
I'm on a deodexed ROM so i can only upload deodexed apps. I think you can convert these to odex or if not, you can still use this deodexed apps, just delete or move matching .odex files somewhere safe.
Anyway here are some screenshots of my inverted contacts. apk (modded enox) and also my AOSP themed systemui.apk (modded somin.n)
These are the files: (just push to system/apps... set permissions. If on odex rom, just delete matching .odex files and if needed clear data, wipe cache and dalvik)
http://d-h.st/wrN (seccontacts.apk)
http://d-h.st/VXW (systemui.apk)
Hit thanks if I helped you. :good:

Here is the link to the required apk files from .96- http://db.tt/6BiUQl9O
After pushing the apks to /system/app, you also need to set permissions like this -
XX-

As Ben has said it above, simply pushing the apk may not work. If you are on a stock/stock based rom then the apks will work but if you are on a AOSP rom then there are very slim chances if the apks working.

[Q] [i8160][JB]Use stock ROM apps on custom ROM?

Hi,
is it possible, to use apps from the stock ROM (telephone app, Samsung e-mail etc.) with a custom ROM like CM10.1?
I started with a deodexed stock ROM and and took some of the Samsung apps and tried to install them in CM10.1. Installation failed.
It also did not work when I copied the apk files into the system app folder.
I thought, a deodexed apk file is again complete without requirering the correct framework etc., but obviously, something is still missing/wrong.
Does anyone have an idea, why using Samsung stock ROM apps on CM10.1 fails? Can this be fixed?
I would really like to use the telephone app from Samsung instead of CM10.1 phone app. Or the FM radio app.
Is there a chance?
Thanks!
Regards
Klaerchen

Some of them will work if you deodex them first, but you can't install them as a "normal" app.
You have to copy the apk to /system/app then set the correct permissions and reboot.
If not working then it's possibly depends from the touchwiz framework and launcher.

You have to copy the apk to /system/app then set the correct permissions then reboot.
If not working that it's possibly depends from the touchwiz framework and launcher.
