[Q] Trying to get Block Breaker 3 Unlimited HD working - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

So, I can install it just fine from the play store, however when it goes to download the extra data it tells me it's not supported. I've gotten the same message on my HP touchpad, Galaxy Tab, and HTC Sensation. The method I was using was to just drop my data file into the correct folder, and start the game. Unfortunately that did not work this time around. Maybe I've forgotten something critical to the process?
**EDIT** Crap Probably should have thrown this in Q&A with a [Q] in the title! If a kind mod sees this, a little push over to Q&A would be great

Android Wifi Tether? -internet -

So i've installed the said addon, including files and i can connect to "android tether" and phone vibrates etc... However it says local access only on the pc, i can't get internet. Does anyone have any tips on what i may be doing wrong? Should i not update to the newest files if i am going to run tether or is it all compatible now? I've tried both ways with no luck, i must be doing something wrong...
Touch pro 2, Sprint
I only now make a thread because i've asked a bunch and no answers in the mega thread
You might not be getting any answers because this is the TP1 sub-fora. There's a whole section for the TP2 dude.
Not sure what the status of tethering on the TP2 is, but I recommend you go over there!!!!
I actually got it working, with an aosp version. man seems faster than regular windows. now if only it didn't break all internet when i try to reset my data ;p

[Q] possible idiot noob question on root

Ok, I am sorry if this has been beaten to death but I could not find my answer in the search.
I was hoping to get back my 3rd party wifi tether by rooting my g-nex. I was good at doing that on my droid x, but there seem to be so many different ways and different opinions.
I thought using this link and root toolkit 1.1 would give me back my wifi:
http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57352473-285/how-to-easily-root-your-galaxy-nexus/
I figure c-net has never lead me astray before. So I download and unlock my bootloader, make a back-up of my apps, root, restore my apps and.......nothing.
I tried 1-click tether, and it shows that it is send signal...nothing
open garden say it opens, but with error's
Barnacle wifi tether- NAT: could not set MTU of rmnet1: Invalid
WIFI: Failed to connect to supplicant: no such file
or directory
Stopped unexpectedly!
Why all the detail? I am not sure that by restoring the apps I did something to the root.
Also, if this was not a good choice of root; is there one that is that easy and better?
I am not a big mod guy, I just think its BS that verizion wants to charge double and as long as I can I will not stand for it. I have no problem paying for apps, or donating to programers. So please no bashing me for something that should be free.

http://www.clockworkmod.com/ - $5

The top one is in a constant state of development and you are guaranteed no support.
The bottom two are USB tether options and don't require root.
There are more out there, but I know that these three work.
Note: I'm having speed issues with these, but I think it's something to do with my phone in particular...

Osmos HD

I purchased this game two days ago after trying the demo version because it was really captivating to me, however, when I attempt to download it, it simply says "starting download" and never actually downloads. I have tried deleting the cache and data from the market application and rebooted my phone after fixing permissions and still no progress. I also checked my Google wallet and edited the zip code, which was wrong at first and I still can't play. Does anybody know how I can fix the game to install. I know it works since the demo did just fine. I really would appreciate an answer. Thanks.
There is enough hate in the world. Why can't we all get along here ...?
Wow, no joke as soon as I posted this I checked the road warrior thread and it started downloading the game after I clicked the market link to that game...nobody cares so sorry for this thread...

Usually a system reboot will do the trick ( + that cache deletion). Sometimes for some odd reason the market lags.
If it's any consolation....you answered your own question in 3 minutes..... people don't wait hand and feet on xda to answer your questions lol
i ususally just open up task manager and force close the market it and then reopen it. usually does the trick and it downloads automatically

how to secure (render it useless) our phone if we lost it ?

hi all,
i have searched the topic i question, but can't find any satisfying answer. to anticipate situation if we lost our android phone, i.e SGN 2, what would you do to make the phone plainly useless for whoever find it ? i am comparing to iphone in this case (the other smart phone i ever own, sorry..). if i find your iphone, and you put simple 4 digit password, it would be very hard for me to bypass to get into the phone's system & data or to restore it. unless i would try 4^10 = 1,048,576 combination trial. no way i would go to the apple store to ask for help . on android, if it's rooted, i can go to recovery and restore to factory condition and i have a fresh device.
let's put aside the IMEI blocking feature imposed by carrier, as it's only effective for a specific region/country/carrier.
any feedback will be appreciated. thank you !
I use this.

Id recommend a program called androidlost. Much more functionality. I can snap pictures of a perpetrator using my phone, secretly record audio of them without their knowledge, enable gps ( even if they turned it off ) and track on a map, and is persistant even if they pop out the sim card and put in another. It notifies you of the new phone number too.
I use the gps all the time on my wifes phone (she gets lost easy ). Other features include remote file downloads, remote wipes, changing or setting a password on the phone, push the last 25 sms sent and received to your computer. Its an awesome program.
Even if they have factory reset your phone immediately and still had your sim inserted, you can push it remotely, and enable the software. Wicked awesome. Ive messaged the developer with a few ideas to make it system persistant..... hopefully he implements them as even a factory data reset would not remove the app

apologize mod. thank you for the action.
thanks for the replies guys. we hope future android OS will feature complete lock down from unauthorized user. from description, those kind of 3rd party apps will stop working if a perpetrator installs customROM although big chance legit owner can take action to protect their data.
You can also put in a pin, password, or even face recognition for the lock screen. That's the first line of defense, but on top of that, there are plenty of apps that can remote wipe, locate lost phones, take a picture after someone tries to open it and fails, etc. Cerberus & Lookout are really good. With Lookout, T-mobile customers have a little bit extra features, like the ability to make your phone scream remotely. I've tried it and I have to say it's pretty loud!

[Q] Issues with S3 Hotspot

Hi everyone,
First of all, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here for being such a great resource in the past. I have performed many roots via guides on here.
My real question, I was super excited to get KitKat and immediately accepted the AT&T Software Update...2 hours later I realized that my Portable WIFI Hotspot app was no longer functional due to the upgraded OS. I figured a factory reset would be fine since it wasnt KitKat when it first came to me, sadly it wasn't.
Does anyone have any advice for a work around? I have unlimited data with AT&T right now and do not wish to sacrafice that for hotspot services but it is a very convienent feature to have when I am on the go. I've thought of rooting, reverting (which didn't work), and search hours in the app store testing different ones.
Any and all advice/suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Thank you in advance guys and gals!:good:
There is no way around it without rooting, until they create another app, unless there is one that I don't know about. You need a modified framework file in the system directory, which cannot be accessed without root permissions. I'm guessing that you were using foxfi, like so many others around here. I might be wrong.
And next time, please do some research before accepting these toys, I mean OTAs. (I keep calling them toys, because the only reason I see why we so quickly rush to these OTAs is to play with them.) There is plenty of useful information here at XDA for you. Don't just look to fix your problem and then run. Some of the purposes of OTAs are to prevent rooting and block tethering (Foxfi has been broken a couple of times). When you do some more reading, you will see all of the problems that many are having around here after jumping to play with this new toy, I mean update, without waiting or doing enough research.
Personally, one of the best things I have done with my phone is not accepting this latest OTA.
ya, I completely regret not doing my usual research. I thought I read somewhere that you cant root this current version as well. If you can root, if someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it, if not I can take a look around after work
The app was Portable WIFI Hotspot
Here you go if you need to root. It's in the general section.
