My Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH I747M is stuck at the boot screen after I had installed an app that required root (AwesomeBeats-Playstore) ( I already had root)
After I had installed it asked me to reboot my phone which I did and ended up getting stuck on the boot screen. I restarted again and again but it still wont change.
I haven't installed any Roms on my S3 and it is currently on the Samsung Nature Touchwiz 4.04.
I need help fast since I need my phone for school.

You needed root to install it and superuser granted it then it asked to reboot after i pressed okay at the boot screen where it just says samsung and flashes blue around the letters it just stays on that. I think it soft bricked it and I don't know what to do.
I also havent installed any roms on my s3 its right now on 4.04 samsung touchwiz

Restore from cwm or twrp backup if you have one. If not you'll have to find stock firmware for your carrier and flash it via Odin. Always make backups via recovery in case this ever happens again it will be an easy fix.

Same problem here, cannot enter download mod
I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 sgh i747m root with Bell carrier, i was running the official ice cream sandwich 4.04
I also have the same problem after installing awesomebeat.
Now my phone is stock on the boot screen
I can not enter the download mode. I press the 3 key and it still goes on the boot screen. But when I plug it to my pc, Odin recognize it. Beside this, i'm unable to install any proper stock roms. They all failed !!

UNinstall kies without uninstalling the drivers and do it again.
My phone restarted for no reason today and than it got stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S3 bootscreen.
It's been like this no matter what roms I boot. Cwm and download mode works but nothing i do can get it past the bootscreen. Does anyone have any idea what to do now ?

To get mine into download mode this is what I do:
1- pull battery and put back in
2 - hold volume down + home button + and power button all at the same time
3- when you feel your phone vibrate let go of the power button but continue holding onto volume down + home button until you see the Samsung galaxy sIII screen and then you can let go of the remaining two buttons - you should get into download mode
4 - replace them volume down key with the volume up key if you want to get into recovery
Ive been stuck at the boot screen before and I went into recovery and did a full wipe factory reset and then it worked

What toolkit are you using?
If you can get the phone into download mode (which you should be able to if you can get into recovery for a factory reset - press Vol Down + Home + Power), flash one of the stock rooted images from here.
latest toolkit, i even did an update today
i did not have this problem when i rooted it the first time

That doesn't tell me what toolkit you're using - there are several different "toolkits" one can use to root their device. Can you provide a link or something?
Did you see my suggestion about entering download mode to reflash the phone?

That would be this toolkit, I presume?
Did you start from Jelly Bean? The toolkit thread explicitly states that trying to use it with stock Jelly Bean will result in the soft-bricking you describe; you're better off trying another approach to rooting (such as the one I linked to).
So my phone was working perfectly fine until two days ago it rebooted itself with no apparent reason. After that the phone stayed stuck on boot screen (Where it says "samsung galaxy note II GT-N7100).
I can't get into recovery mode, but can get into download mode.
I tried about anything to fix this but nothing seemed to help and I'm starting to lose hope. I really wish you guys can help me fix this, because I'm having trouble facing the fact that my phone can just die on me and i have nothing to do about it (I have no insurance on the device).
Thanks in advance to anyone who wishes to help!

This just happened to my GT-N7105 too....
....for the second time! lol.
First time i solved it by using Odin, flashed CWM then checking to see if CWM could mount my SDcard, i loaded up a ROM in it and reboot into CWM and installed the rom from there. SIMPLE!
This time, my CWM works but it can't mount my SD-CARD... :crying:
So, i'm just gonna flash in another rom with Ordin and see what happens! lol.
If you need help using Odin, try this guide:
galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-tutorials/how-to-unrootunbrick-galaxy-note-2-with-stock-firmware/
Granted it's a bit old, but it might still work (im using this guide too!) Only difference is that you'll have to flash in CWM instead of a ROM and we should use latest ordin 3.7.
So good luck to you and me! :good::laugh:

have you check all the setting in your Odin is it correct?

Press vol. up + menu key and then Power key if your phone is stuck on boot screen for 4~8sec, and don't leave the button until your phone get restarted and for ~3 secs after.

yeah, this just happened to my moms note 2,
we were outside and she was using her phone normally until it suddenly started to reboot repeatedly.
i knew it's not her firmware nor her kernel cause they're all the official ones,
luckily my father has a note 1 which uses a battery of the same size, so i tried it's battery and it worked, so i put back the original battery and wala,
worked like a charm
have you tried to install custom recovery? CWM or TWRP or Philz and then install a custom rom from the recovery?
If someone can't go to download mode there is a micro usb callesd usb jig(you find it on ebay) that helps you go into download mode.
Oh my God!!! I inserted the spare battery that i had into my "bricked" note 2... And it got a life.. I can't understand the logic behind this.. Its a topic worth research!!
BTW, thanks to rZZ87

I have searched these forums and everywhere else I can find mentioning this problem online, but nothing has worked yet. I'm hoping someone here may be able to point me in the right direction.
I rooted my AT&T Galaxy Note 2 SGH-I317 a couple weeks ago and was messing around and stupidly tried upgrading to 4.3, and now I can't boot and can't enter recovery mode. NOTE: Download mode works just fine, either by manually holding Volume Down/Home/Power or by using a USB Jig, I just can't enter recovery mode by holding Volume Up/Home/Power
I am able to flash just fine with Odin (I have tried version 3.07 and 3.09), it says Pass every time but the darn phone still won't boot and won't let me into recovery mode so that I may clear the cache and get it to boot.
I have tried flashing back to the factory firmware, to which Odin says Pass but still no go on the boot.
I have also tried setting up an ADB connection in Windows 7 (so that I may get the phone into recovery mode without hardware buttons), but since my computer will only recognize the phone when it's in download mode (since I can't boot the phone so Windows 7 will see it like it normally would) ADB won't work.
I'm at my wits end here, does anyone have any clue how I may fix this problem? What's really frustrating is I just bought a Galaxy Gear Watch and about a week later messed up my phone
Thanks, and I appreciate any help you can give me.
EDIT: Forgot to mention something. When I turn the power to the phone on and don't enter download mode, it stays on the Samsung Galaxy Note II screen, and that's all that happens.
Also, this is exactly what my Download screen info says:

Got the phone to finally boot up
I finally got my phone to at least boot up. Although, I still can't get into recovery mode.
I followed this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596256 and downloaded this file
It boots, and is currently 4.1.2, however when I try to get to recovery mode, the graphics flicker and the screen goes blank for a couple mins then reboots to the OS.

I had a similar issue moving from Jedi to Jedi Master X.
I had to use an older Odin 2.85 to install a CWM recovery(I prefer TWRP UI)
Once I had the CWM I could install Jedi Master X2 and I had to wait about 30 mins for it to get through boot.
I thought I had a good soft brick but eventually I found a combiination of Odin, recovery and Rom to get it to work.
Good Luck
Recovery screen is now up!
After I was able to boot, I tried flashing again to stock firmware, and this time the recovery menu works just fine! I'm almost back to where I need to be. After resetting to factory defaults, I'm hoping I can do an OTA update to 4.3 so my Galaxy Gear will work again.

Update to 4.3 official will fail if you have a custom recovery...
I suggest using the leaked 4.3 we have...
It will give you all of the gear functions....and allow you to keep root and dump the bloat that you don't want...
A best case situation ....IMHO....g

Glad you were able to figure it out... I just had a similar problem because TWRP froze up on me halfway through flashing a ROM. Had to ODIN CWMR back on and flash a ROM... lesson learned... always keep a ROM on your SD card in case your phone soft bricks - if you can get into download mode at least you will be able to work around it!!
I'll give that a try

Instead of the leaked you can use the official without locking yourself into the 4.3 bootloader

I am also a noob:/ I have been on this website for a while now and have found nothing for my problem with my SGH-I317 Galaxy Note 2...
My Problem- I installed CWM custom recovery it wokred fine I installed CM 10 (that was a week ago). yestarday I went to turn on my phone when i woke up. It showed the "Samsung Galaxy Note II" and then went CRAZY the logo spazzed and then just turned black. I immediatly went into odin and flashed my only stock rom the SGH-I317 android 4.1.1 because I could only access the download mode. I went to go and do an OTA update to 4.3 (I think I messed up right here). It went fine up until it restarted and and froze on the Galaxy Note 2 logo. I can still access Download mode but I cant get into either stock recovery or the custom recovery mode. I have tried flashing three different stock roms and Odin says it passed but it just reboots and stays on that logo. Please help I am not in the position to buy or replace a new phone (I'm only 14).

if I hold the volume up while booting I can get to Odin
if I hold the volume down I can get to ClockworkMod recovery v6.0.4.7
I have been looking for a rom that I can use to reset the phone, I found 1 that loaded with CWM, but the phone still had the same problem.
so I am thinking maybe resetting it back to factory would be best at this point?
or what ever I can do to get it working again?
Looking for a rom that will work, and if its for Oden, please also provide the correct version number for Odin for PC
Thanks so much
