Hi,
Even before the storm I am unable to roam. Sprint towers are up, but just barely. I had to retry a phone call 23 times to get it to go through. Same thing for texts. Verizon's network is doing quite well, but when I roam I get a notification that data has been disabled due to roaming, and when I make a call, I get an automated message from Verizon saying I have to provide a credit card to make the call. Texts won't send on Verizon either. Wtf.
All roaming settings are on, why can't I get ANY roaming!?
Thanks.

I'm on 24006 with no difference.
And shouldn't genuine roaming work out of the box? At least for voice?
i posted this in another thread...im getting asked for a CC# by verizon(when roaming off the sprint network) as well...wth?
I'm using the same 00002 I used with my E4GT to force me on Verizon. No problems this far

ok I have a couple of questions. I am currently running Cyanogenmod 6.1 which is the best rom lol...sorry had to say it. I know I can force roam to Verizon using the built in tool. My first question, why is it when i roam on Verizon I will only receive phone calls when I have data disabled??? data on Verizon is 1x which is used for voice/text. When i have the data option enabled....it puts the caller right to voicemail. Questions number 2.....Is there anyway to use a toggle to switch between EV-DO and 1X... thanks in advance.
i thought if you force roaming it roams off Alltel? my PRL is 60672

I believe you are correct....it will roam on either verizon or alltell, but if i have data roaming on i will not receive phone calls. I am trying to get 1X only on sprint. If i turn off the data connection it still shows it as connected to EVDO if I look under status and network or connection
hey, my evo is rooted and am running sense 3.5. this is the new rom i got because i thought it might help the problem. however, it didnt work. i am trying to use 3g but a message saying error code 67 keeps popping up. how do i get my 3g to work? i thought i had to update my profile, bu the rom doesnt have that so i installed a new rom, which didnt make a difference. great rom thought!
also, i dont like sprints service, which i why i want to use verizons network. i can roam manually, but i want to make sure i am using verizon and not another carrier. how do i check which tower or carrier i am using.
You need a sense 1.0 rom or a stock rooted rom to update prl and profile, you have to change your prl manually to force vzw 3g use it too much and sprint WILL boot you if you force roam normally you will only get 1x on whoever has the stronger signal in your area could be vzw could be usacellular could be metropcs could be any of sprints subsidiaries like virgin or boost manually changing your prl to a vzw one will guarantee vzw coverage BUT use too much data and get the boot use too many voice minutes get the boot and while using vzw they will use your anytime minutes no free mobile to mobile or nights and weekends so be prepared
We are legion, for we are many
prl
so how can i change my prl so it only roams on verizon?
if it is always roaming on verizon, will there be an additional charge for the 1x signal i will be getting?
i dont use that much 3g nor do i talk a lot. however, i text a lot! will that affect any additional charges?
i want to use vzw without any additional charges or having to get into any problems with sprint nor verizon with our contract.
If you continue to roam on Verizon you will receive a letter from Sprint telling you you need to cancel your service.

I got a evo 4g flash with boost mobile ..this morning i woke up and i was trying making a call..... my call doesn't go through, instead i get this message: "Your account could not be validated, please contact customer service"
but last night was working perfect
does anybody know how to fix this?
If your running a Sprint prl it will try to use whatever tower affiliated with Sprint rather native or roaming. That error is what you get when your connected to a roaming tower such as Verizon.

so wat i suppose to do to fix that?
do i got to flash it again?
Flash a Boost prl.
Turn off roaming option
Flash a Boost PRL.
I was on a call and tried to access something in my browser, and was given a message saying data is unavailable during a call.
That's strange, because every phone I've had for the last 5 years hasn't had an issue with that. Is there any way to change this?
Carrier?
If this is Verizon, make sure you have advanced calling enabled on your phone and your account, which is free. If you are in a 3G area, it's not possible to do both, you need to be on LTE.
Sprint, does not have it but on certain phones

Worked like a charm! Thanks for the info.
I have a HTC One M8, AT&T, TWRP recovery, flashed and rooted with ICE 8.2.2; SuperSu.
When I am connected to 4G/LTE and someone calls me, it rings on their end but my phone does nothing. I checked my IMEI and see LTE is supported. When I switch my mobile network from 2G/3G/4G (auto) to 2G/3G (auto), it connects (H, H+ icon) and my phone receives incoming phone calls. My SIM card does not mention "4G" or "LTE". I have yet to try the SIM in another phone yet but plan to tonight.
Just to help me out with my thought process on figuring out the issue I'm going to think out loud for a second:
Put my SIM in another phone and make sure 4G/LTE is on, check if it receives calls. If it works, the issue is my phone or ROM. If it doesn't work, SIM card is the issue.
Also, from what I understand, phones on 4G switch to 3G when a call comes in and my phone may not be doing that. Is there a fix for this?
EDIT: As additional info, I am able to make outgoing calls without issue on 4G.
Are you actually using AT&T as your cell provider?
Yes, and I made sure my APN settings are correct.
It's a known issue. AT&T's implementation of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) which they call "HD Voice" for some reason interferes with voice calls on custom ROMs on this device.
No real fix, aside from calling AT&T and asking them to turn off the HD Voice feature of your account. May need to ask for a 2nd Tier tech support to do it. Others here have posted they had to do that (and 1st Tier either had not clue what they were talking about, or wrongly claimed it can't be turned off).

Awesome. Thank you!
EDIT: Just finished working through the issue with an AT&T rep through online chat. Had me turn off my phone, disabled it on their end, and turned it back on. Did a test call and sure enough 4g switches to 3g as the call comes in and switches back afterwards. Problem Solved!
