[Q] how to network unlock without swapping sim cards? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi. I have the unlock code for my note 2. However, in the instructions, it says to insert a non t-mobile simcard. Is it possible to unlock the note 2 without changing sim cards? LIke bringing up a menu to enter the unlock code or something?
Thanks

Don't think so.

Buy an unlock code from a website like he said above, also make sure you are on the stock ROM when you enter the unlock code using a foreign (different carrier) SIM otherwise it won't work..
no i havent recieved any unlock code from tmobiles
isnt there any other way to get it unlocked?

You can pay for it

Just call tmobile and tell them you would like to have the unlock code for your phone. As long as your bill is up to date they will email it to you in about 24 hours, then make sure when you go to unlock it that you have the STOCK ROM installed and a SIM from another carrier. Put the other carrier SIM in the phone after you get the code, turn phone on, enter code and bingo. You will be unlocked.

Yes, if you can find a unlocked Galaxy S3 and if you can cut your SIM to the right dimensions.

I can unlock mine, I need to know if anyone knows if the procedure online is safe enough that people have already done it.

You can unlock it and use.att sim. Get a micro sim.cutter.

if you bought it outright, call tmobile and they will send you the unlock instructions. no questions asked. done. then you will have to get a microsim cutter and you're golden.

Samsung GS3 Unlock

Good day, i have the unlock code for my Samsung but i need the instructions to apply the code. Anyone know where to fine instructions, th as nks.

I may be wrong but I believe the only way to get the screen to pop up where you enter the code you have to insert a T-Mobile Sim and boot the phone. I've got my code as well but I don't know anyone with T-Mobile so I haven't been able to enter it yet. If someone knows of another method, I'm all ears.

If thats the case,i think any sim card from a diffrent carrier will work.

You don't need an unlock code, all you need are the APN settings for T-Mobile and add the apn to your phone and select it
What are apn settings, how do you add them. Telus Canada.

Are you trying to put in the unlock code for your phone? No need to modify your APN settings. Your phone uses your provider's APN settings for data access, why modify them? You don't need T-Mobile SIM card. You just need a card from ANY different provider. You're in Canada and on Telus? Get a Rogers or FIDO sim card, put it in, reboot. The phone will promt you to enter the unlock code. Once it's accepted, reboot. Your phone is now unlocked.
Ok, thanks. Have a galaxy s 3, micro sim card, will have to try and find micro sim somewhere.

What can I do with my unlocked phone? If I put a second sim card in my phone could I use it on my phone without paying for use of it? Could he get free 4g from T-Mobile? What could I do?

No, unlocking just allows you to use your phone with any GSM phone company... you still have to pay that company for service.
For example, it allows you to use this T-Mobile phone on AT&T... but you still have to pay AT&T for service.

NET10 has to provide it.
Make sure you are clear in the fact that you are NOT asking for a SIM unlock code, its probably a PUK

The reason why it asked for the code was because the sim wasn't activated I had to call net10 3 times before it was activated and now its working fine

no. just no. net10 doesnt have the nexus as a locked device.
you need the sim unlock code from the carrier the phone is locked to.
OP, you need to find this out before you can get a sim unlock code. (BTW, you did not buy a carrier unlocked phone)
