I have not tried this on my ET4G yet but it works on my SG2 running CM10! To get the sphere to work you must edit your build.prop. I also deleted my other gallery and rocking the new one so far without issue.. Enjoy

That's a little too much for me to do but I can't wait for devs to implement it into a ROM.

Yeah I used the one click method. I would assume that changing the build props would he a little harder than rooting and flashing custom ROMs.
hi
Video recording is not working and photo sphere is unusable --- the gyroscope is unstable.

Actually... editing the build.prop is very easy. You can use root explorer to edit the file then reboot.

Maybe you could point us in the right direction on how to do this? There are step by step instructions on how to flash roms everywhere, but things like this or add code, API, etc to these roms not so much

More info on how to do these things, please
Directions:
All you need to do is change these two fields in your build.prop:
ro.product.model=SPH-D710
To:
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.brand=samsung
To:
ro.product.brand=google
Reboot.
And presto! Working camera

So the easiest way I've found to do this is by using an app by Jrummy call ROM Toolbox. It has a tool in the app called build.prop editor. In there you can just scroll down until you find those entries, then edit and save them. It will ask you if you would like to reboot, just wait til you make the last edit you need, then reboot. Simple. Before, I used to use root explorer to make those kinds of changes, but it's much simpler with ROM Toolbox. Besides, you can change fonts, boot animations, and other things with RomToolbox as well.
Alternatively, you would have to use a root file explorer, such as Root Explorer, to navigate to your /system/ folder and find build.prop. Then open the file so that you can edit it and make the changes. Save the changes. I don't know about other apps, but Root Explorer by SpeedSoftware will automatically save a backup of your build.prop file.
Just be careful that you know what you're changing in that build.prop file or you can really jack **** up.
I hope that helps you, I think some that have been screwing with our phones forever take what we know for granted sometimes lol
edit: and changes won't take effect until a reboot

Couple things
1 - I have updated OP with new version that does not require any edits
2 - You have to remember that you are working with a phone and a community of people that have asked the same questions before you. A simple google search will more than likely give you the answer to anything android related. I have no problem helping you just I sometimes may not get back fast enough. I just feel you should never rely on anyone else with all the info at your fingertips.
Just my thoughts man... Enjoy update in OP and here http://db.tt/J2P1fepj

Just a simple widget that tells current download speeds and amount of data transferred. I can't find any thing like it on the market.

Making a widget could be cool, I like the idea. So basically 3g/4g down/up speeds and total WiFi sent back and forth from tethered devices? Wonder if I could just pull that apps resources.. But then it would be app specific vs just monitoring services. What are most people using? Treve mod tether or what?

That's what I was using till I got my GS3, then I couldn't get it to work so I use the built in hotspot on MOAR Rom. That's why I want a speed widget.... When I'm stressing video I can look at it and see the overall data speed in real time so I can tell if I've got adv good video server or of I need to switch.

Would it be possible to make an app, using xposed maybe, that would allow you to use tw widgets on a non tw launcher? Just an idea.
Edit: Or how about an app that let's a person update profile and prl on aosp like in tw?
Edit 2: Maybe an app that will allow you to multi-boot or dual-boot different ROMs on the fly...

I dunno. Maybe a framework app that can change the message bubbles in the stop text app? I don't know if that is possible but I know there is an xposed module that let's you change the toggles color so it may be possible. Or maybe an xposed module that let's you change the framework color (like in settings, text app, etc) from Samsung blue to another color? Like this is what I am talking about:

Lots of mentions about the xposed module. What if I could make a companion app that would toggle a whole bunch of options and customizations? It could be the holy grail of cross ROM modding for the gs3 if we do it right. I found some good info on adding modules. I'll have a better idea in a few days when I get to play with some code.

How about an app that tells google to stop with the silly updates already? I don't need an updated playstore every week.
Enough with the updates Google!
I got a great idea, what if you create an xposed module or an app that installs the hangouts emojis on the system framework so we can see them anywhere instead of the native black and white emojis.

Just wanted to give an update. I'm starting the alpha build for the gs3 specific xposed modules and will open a new thread for it when I get to a beta stage where I could use testers. Wish me luck!

HOME BUTTON MOD
Introduction
After many hours studying how overlay works on android, I came up with this zip that allows to change home button behaviour.
You decide: long press will open recent apps or google now. No more odd roms, mods, etc.
This mod is universal: WORKS FOR EVERY SINGLE FRAMEWORK
Downloads
Long press - Google Now
Long press - Recent Apps
Instructions
1. Download the file
2. Reboot to recovery
3. Wipe caché and flash it
4. Press the THANKS button
Previous and deprecated method.
Fist of all, I recommend doing a nandroid backup before installing anthing. This will avoid future problems.
1. Install Xposed Framework
We'll use Xposed Framework to change the behaviour of Home Button. Don't ask me anything about Xposed framework, here is the link to the official post if you want to know more. Read carefully before asking!
[FRAMEWORK ONLY!] Xposed - ROM modding without modifying APKs (2.1.4)(12.05.2013)
We're going to use these two files and add both to our SDCARD.
XposedInstaller_2.1.4.apk
Xposed-Disabler-CWM.zip
The first file is the apk installer and the second one is a CWM zip disabler which we'll store in case something goes wrong.
Open the apk and click on install Xposed Framework. When it finishes reboot.
Before

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After. NOW REBOOT
2. Installing Tweakbox Module
Here is the link to the official post in case you have questions about it.
[MOD][ICS][XPOSED] Tweakbox: no-flashing tweaks collection (1.4.0)(23.01.2013)
Download this file: XposedTweakbox_1.4.0.apk and install like a normal app.
3. Activating Tweakbox Module
Go to Xposed installer and clic in Modules. We'll see this
Clic on Tweakbox and reboot again.
4. Changing Home Button behaviour
Open Tweakbox, go to Miscellaneous/ Long Home behaviour and tick this option (Show new recent app list)
Now you will not have Google Now in Long Press Home any more!!!
Many thanks to rovo89 for providing Xposed Framework and also Tweakbox. Please visit both post and thanks him!!!!
Thanks also to cocoto105 who showed me this method.
:angel::angel::angel:If you like my mods press thanks!!!!:angel::angel::angel:If you want to include this in your rom, let me know before

It would be great if you could add module for dual view in apps (settings, email, hangouts...)
Once again, tnx for this..
Now we can hold home or tap two times for smallapps

Sure mate - this is great.
I know there was thread with this but tjat was long time ago and it's hard to find.
And exposes now have new stuff and new features...
One more question, is it possible to enable CRT on/off screen on our devices?

With Xposed modules I don't think so. In the official post it says CRT may not work in all devices.
However, there's a mod in Galaxy (s3?) forum which activates CRT Off. Only Off animation, but it could be ported to our device. Nevertheless, it's a hard work and require expert's knowledge.

Yeah...stock/stock based ROM is a bit**
On custom (4.1/4.2/4.3) CRT off is working great
Never mind...that's not so important..
I remember, there is module for dpi and per app settings (for dual view) so that could be really interesting to write a tutorial...

If you wanna I can translate the HTCMania tutorial with the modules that we have been tested in Xposed. Thanks to its creators.

I hope dev would find a mod that would do this natively in framework
cause personally I don't like xposed framework
but this is a nice workaround for now
dammit sony for giving us gugel nao nonsense
I have been trying to find a way to do the no dpi tablet mod but I know not a thing about smali. I can find where the code is but not sure how to change it to allow tablet mode. Is there a way to make a module for this?? I know there is a tablet ui module that kinda works but you lose small apps.

There's a mod to change dpi of all apps you desire. Although you aren't referring to this, it'd have the same result, shouldn't it?
There was a mod in ICS to make what you're saying, but don't remember clearly the procedure.
If you show me smali code, I can take a look.

There's module for Xposed, if you check on their web page you'll see.
It change app individually and that's the best part.
We could change dpi to have tablet mod in build.prop but that will change dpi for a whole device and that's not good.
With this module you have settings per app and you can set many things.
It's really easy to use it.
And for that guy who said he doesn't like Xposed framework - you still have your framework, Xposed only make some changes to allow his modules to work.
I'm using modified framework wuth custom background and Xposed didn't change nothing in it.
@OP
This was a great solution for home button.
I kinda used to use double tap for small apps and this module is great 'couse I can still call my small apps with double tap or with "hold home"... (I need some time to forgive that Sony nonsense and get used to "hold" function)

Sony`s framework has an special method to compile. You can see the guide on Xperia Z forum. Besides, you'll need Rizal Lovins` apktool.

Okay here is a link to what I am talking about. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780970
I am aware of xposed and per app dpi as I have been playing with it for some time now. The big issue is combine status and nav bars is turned off so you cant get full tab mode on JB. I pulled the classes dex and started looking through the files and like I said before the code is there it seems but just not sure how to change it. I tried to convert it to java but wouldn't you know the file i needed to look at had errors. I will post the code when I get a chance.

multiwindow was fully unlocked working with all apps but jedi rom broke it so im still working on that......

i may be mistaken but technically this should work on any version firmware as long as its 4.1.2 touchwiz based but to answer your real question there are 2 ways to enable more apps...the easiest of which would be to download the free version of "samsung multiwindow manager" from the play store (do NOT apply the patch when asked to do so...it will still work fine) or for those of u familiar with xposed there is a module called "Xposed Multi Window Apps Manager" which works as well. If u guys encounter any force closes with stock samsung apps then they MAY need to be replaced with copies from other multiwindow compatible devices...files from the original device (the N7000 in the case) SHOULD work
Flashed this on a stock 4.1.2 touchwiz. Doesn't seem to work properly, Can't get the apps to split. They just overtake each other and show full screen.

first...u MUST reboot every time u add an app to the list. Second...there are 2 different versions of the app on the play store. This will sound backwards but u want the older "note 10.1" version NOT the newer "phone" version. Third...the apps will NOT automatically appear in the flashbar so u will need to press the edit button located at the bottom of the flashbar and drag the newly added apps over to the list with the rest. The only reason the module wouldnt work is if u forgot to activate it in xposed by putting a check next to it....the reboot and edit rules above apply to the module as well
