[Q] Recommened Radio/spl

So I'm reviewing the different radios for the g2 and want to know what would be the best radio for me. Im in the midwest and plan on using pyromod. I am currently using cyranogen mod 7.0.3 and I'm looking to switch it up.
26.04.02.17 is my personal favorite though I notice I have to wipe dalvik and batt stats(advanced in cwm rec) once a week and reload pc10img.zip.

Questions about unofficial GB update

First, has anyone had success loading this on w/o root? Does the update delete everything on my phone? How smooth does it run?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
of your talking about the PCIMG.zip that was leaked , there is no reason for root its a signed image by HTC so you flash it to your phone officialy, now if you are looking into the other custom Gingerbread, those have root and you will need a custom revovery
and yes i flashed it on my softbrick g2 and it runs smooths really smooth have seen any real issue with it
Yes I'm talking of the official signed one. Not looking to root yet. Will it delete my data?

to be honest i dont really know... my g2 was softbricked so couldnt say, i dont think it would also be warn there is no downgrade method or a root method when you do this flash
If its smooth and useable that's not a problem.

Yes, the PC10IMG.zip will delete all data on the phone. I used it on my girls unrooted phone. Which doesn't make sense, since it will be OTA update someday.. and looks like it'll be deleting peoples data..but doesn't bother her or me really.. atleast the update will be running on a wiped clean system..

Thanks for the answer.

I'm new so not sure if there was something I could have done differently, but my update wiped it clean. I'm actually happy with the clean wipe because it gave me the chance and the reason to rebuild my homescreens and only install the apps I actually used, my phone had gotten a little bloated with some unused apps. I know the OTA will be out soon but I'm impatient and wanted it NOW.
Anyone else have an experience with the update.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
yea since its a PCIMG it will do that cause your flashing a whole new system into it and its gonna wipe it, its not a incremantal update, where it would back up your data then flash new rom and pout your data back,

So the ota will be an incremental update?

The ota update won't wipe your data.

Question to the people who have flashed the leaked gingerbread rom, what color is the notification bar? And what colors are the wifi/signal and battery icons?

[Q] I've tried flashing many ROMS none of them install correctly!!

I've tried Starburst ROM, Criskelo and Lite'ning. They all flash perfectly fine but when my phone boots up I have no service. Any advice? Please help. I'm a noob. By the way I have an SPH-D710 if that helps any.
Try staying on stock and then root with stock kernel
If that works its all good just flash a custom rom on top of that and reflash the rooted stock kernel
If thats a no ho try lost kernel
Also viper rom i think has lost kernel built in
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Right now I flashed my phone back to the stock kernel are you saying I should use a different one? Sorry I'm just new to this android game.
Maybe you're doing the same thing I was doing. The Galaxy S2 and Epic 4G Touch are two different phones. The GS2 uses a SIM card, so if you have a GS2 ROM, then you won't have service since it's looking for a SIM card. Check to make sure you're downloading a Epic 4G Touch ROM so that you don't get bricked like I did. -_-
What ROMS can I use for an Epic 4G?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
First you need to make sure you're getting the right Roms for your phone...are you confusing epic 4g with epic 4g touch? Two different phones...

New Note 2 user and one pending question

Good evening ladies and gents! Not new to the flashing game. I've owned quite a few Android phones including the Note 1.
My question is this. When I owned the International Note 1, there was a emmc brick bug. It appeared whenever someone wipe erase / factory reset using cwm. It also happened at random. What would happen is there was a bug when that process was executed and it would ruin the partitions on the phone.
Currently, I've owned the Note 2 for one hour. I already have it rooted, and cwm. Nandroid already completed. CleanRom is downloaded and ready to go.
Is there the same bug here? Or am I safe to wipe/factory reset?
Thanks everyone!!

Ya I read up on it and it looks like it only affects the S2 and Note 1. Running CleanRom now!

(HUMOR) (S3 Edition) You know Your Rooted When......

I saw this thread in the Epic and Rezound forums and related to most of them so I thought I would bring the fun over here... so just post and complete this sentence "You know you're rooted when.."
Examples:
masaidjet: You know you're rooted when you tell a neighborhood hoe to " wipe her cache "
wscott9903: You know you're rooted when 1/2 of your apps require superuser permission.
feralicious: You know you're rooted when your spouse tells you they're leaving you and taking the kids and you think "perfect timing, (insert dev name here) just released a new ICS ROM".
jayochs: you know you're rooted when your phones buggy as hell lol
putney1477: You know you're rooted when, you husband, wife, significant other gets a new phone and says, don't you dare come near this phone, it works fine!
jackpot08: You know your rooted when when spend more time flashing roms than using your phone"
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
You know your rooted when....you flash so many ROM's you can't even remember what options or apps the phone actually came with.

Au Contraire, You likely only have 4.2 if you're rooted. If you're rooted and don't have 4.2 you are a noob.
