I have a strange request, that may or may not be possible.
I use my bluetooth headset primarily for watching netflix movies, or listening to slacker radio at work.
I listen to slacker while I'm working, and I watch netflix on my lunch break.
I will use it for phone calls now and then but not very often.
What I would like is to have the button on my headset, the one that activates voicedial, actually pause slacker or netflix instead.
Is there any way to do that? With an app for example?

So I have been using and loving Google music and my 5,000 songs on cloud. I have found an irritating bug and am not sure if anyone has the same problem.
I have a head unit in my vehicle that is capable of streaming media via Bluetooth. Anytime I end a call Google music turns back on even after closing it. I have X it out in the notification slide down menu. I even went into running apps and force closed it. Keep in mind before I make the phone call Google music is not on, not in the notification bar and not in recently opened apps. And magically call ends on Bluetooth, and phone restarts Google music and starts playing in my car!
I don't think this happens if I I use google music with my headphones.

Well it really depends on the system in your car. Most systems I have dealt with (Ford sync, Toyota, Chrysler) automatically resume whatever song is playing if connected for Bluetooth audio. If you do not want audio playing through the phone you can just pause it using a command on the steering wheel or on the radio itself.

Yes it is supposed to resume whatever song is playing. i have ford sync for almost two years now and was using Pandora streaming plenty. If I exit Pandora or let me be even more specific, pause a song before I make a phone call, when I end the call the song stays paused or Pandora stays closed until I tell it otherwise. This is not the case for Google music. I press pause then song continues once call ends. I quit the program before call, song continues, force close before call song continues....Technically there should not be any song playing when I told it to stop in the first place.

I listen to music in my car over bluetooth. With the Galaxy Nexus, when I receive a call or turn off my radio, the music on the phone pauses, as it should. However, upon ending a call or turning the radio back on, the song that is paused then restarts from the beginning. I'm using the Google Music app. This worked fine in Gingerbread. Is anyone else experiencing this or know a solution?
Using PowerAMP and Media Button Router fixed the issue. It's very strange that the native Music app won't pause music from my car radio, but PowerAMP will.
I listen to ESPN radio a lot using either slacker radio or AOL radio app from the play store. Problem I'm having is it constantly stops streaming. I don't believe its a data issue because I disconnect from bluetooth and stream on my speaker phone and it works a lot better. Also... Streaming via Bluetooth I use poweramp or rocket player or whatever default music player and I don't really have issues. This happens on touchwiz and aosp. Any one else with problems like this with same apps or other apps? Thanks in advance.
I have similar issues with NFL GamePass app. On the GN2, I have to my bluetooth device off (but can have blue tooth radio on) when I start a video, otherwise the video plays like it's on fast-forward or only shows a black screen. On Android 4.1.2 the video would stop, and I would have go from full screen to non-full screen for the video to start playing again.
I have the same issue with NFL GP app on my tablet (ASUS Infinity Pad (TF700)) as well. So it's the app. I have no idea because it's only thing that does it; no issue on Netflix, Hulu, Crackle, MLBatBat, ESPN3, NHL CenterIce, BBC iPlayer, Google Music to name a few.
It just happens.
Does anyone know if there is a way (running Malaysk ROM) to make starting music programs (e.g. I use Spotify, MS Groove, podcast players) to switch the MCU mixer to music?
For example - Currently when I am listening to radio and I want to listen to Spotify, Groove or a podcast player next I click the corresponding icon in the launcher but the radio remains on so I have to open the launcher a second time and click Music to turn off the radio/switch android feed to stereo. I would like clicking the Spotify, Groove, etc. icons to do that automatically.
I'd be interested in this as well. I thought that I could do this with Tasker, basically kill the radio app when spotify starts but I don't know what app to kill to make the radio stop.
Killing apps won't help with anything. We need something to switch the MCU audio.
I was operating under the impression that the radio audio stream was coming from an app. However the radio being a hardwired audio input seperate from the Android audio stream would explain why when I reboot the HU the radio keeps playing while it reboots.
I found my solution. I upgraded to a Dasaita MDCD PX5 (OctaCore) with Android 6 and it switches automatically - i.e. Hitting the play button on Spotify turns off the radio, pressing the radio button while Spotify is playing pauses Spotify and so on
Whenever I get in my car and my bluetooth connects, google play music just starts playing whatever was last on on Google Music App. I'm a spotify user and would like to change the default from Google to Spotify. I can't seem to find a way to stop Google music from playing by default. It's very annoying. Works great if you use Google music, but otherwise, annoying.
Anyone having this issue? Anyone have a fix?
AFAIK there isn't a way to prevent media autoplay when connecting to (certain?) car stereos.
Interestingly enough, I don't think that the behavior is actually specific to GPM. I usually listen to podcasts in the car rather than music, and as long as the phone hasn't rebooted or GPM hasn't been used since Pocket Casts was playing, my podcast resumes when I get back in the car usually even if the notification has been closed. It may be the the Spotify app is missing some hook that allows it to take advantage of this feature, but I don't believe we have any way of affecting it directly.
BRO. This **** happened to me for like a week straight and I was getting pretty angry. I made the mistake of asking Google Assistant to play a song for me ONCE and every time I connected to a bluetooth device (usually my car) it started playing the song from where it left off. I don't know what I did to make it stop to be honest, so I'm not much of a help but I can confirm this is a very annoying issue.
I did NOT, however, uninstall Google Music, Disable it, or touch the app in any capacity. There's no option to prevent it from autoplaying, either. I might've let the song play out, but I'm afraid to open the app again to take a look.
