made it to work, i took only the apk without the lib file so that's why the keyboard was not working.

I got this to work but then ended up deleting this because it was a bit laggy-er than the stock AOKP keyboard (which i use now) the swipe function though is pretty nice. I find that the response typing on this keyboard for quick texters to be a little buggy but overall its a descent keyboard.

It was decent no lags for me...but I prefer third party keyboards..

[APP][MOD] AOSP Jelly Bean Keyboard for Users

Hi guys.
I had struggle using the stock keyboard and it was a bit of hell looking for an alternative.
So I came across one of my favorite keyboard ever since on my Nexus. The AOSP keyboard but of course, ported from CM10. So credits to the devs of CM10
If you will like to flash it as well. I have it on my drop box
AOSP JB Keyboard
http://db.tt/xbIrWe7h
Installation Steps:
1. Power off your S3 phone
2. Boot into recovery for CWM
3. Navigate to the download folder of your internal memory
4. Flash and reboot.
When you reboot. Don't forget to go into
Settings > Language and input. Click then second option to make AOSP your default keyboard.
Its fast and flawless. In my opinion, uses less RAM too.

Downloaded OK, flashed OK, rebooted OK.
However, there is still only the Samsung keyboard present in Settings > Language and input!
What am I doing wrong?

Plz add emoji add on too
Edit : I got addon dictionaries apk and when I install emoji and get out of kb settings and try to use but they never show up and I go back to kb settings then it shows emoji not installed
Get a solution
Few questions I have,
Dose this replace anything (setting/existing keyboard) or just adds the AOSP's keyboard?
Should it work on all roms? -odexed/deodexed/ICS/JB...
Dose it support all of the stock languages?
And can it be uninstalled?
Sorry if some of the questions are elementary but I'm having some backup issues so I'm double-checking everything I install... (better be noob then sorry)

It doesn't replace your keyboard. It just installs as an extra keyboard so it's up to you to choose which one you want as a default keyboard. Either Aosp key board or Samsung keyboard.
It works on odex and deodexed.
I'm not too sure if it works on ICS, although it should.
It works very well on Jelly bean.
If you want it uninstalled, simply flash you Rom again and it wipes it off.
On the other hand, you can use your file explorer to open the .zip and go to > System> apps>
Install LatinIME.apk just like a normal application.
That way it won't be a system app and you can easily uninstall from your applications manager without having to flash your Rom all over again.

Original Jellybean DeskClock, possible to install?

hello all
prior to my Note 2 from Tmobile, i had a Galaxy Nexus and miss having the original DeskClock app from Jellybean since you can't dim the Samsung Clock at all.
I extracted the apk from my gnex nand but can't get it to install. i've done the usual copied to /system/app and then tried to install from there and get an error.
also fixed permissions on the apk too. ideas? i'll include the .apk for others to try.
I know this is not what you were asking for but here's on that I use

Sammy keyboard is better
I miss the punctuation options like in original ICS and GB these new ones that don't correct spaces with a comma , (exhibit a) is annoying. But this keyboard is nice looking nonetheless and the Gesture is just like swype just looks like a stock keyboard now. I like it.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
this is actually very nice.
on my RAZR this would have been key
on my s3 i am not a fan of swype like keyboards at all. way to hard for me to reach the other side of the keyboard.
i like that google has worked on this keyboard. unfortunately i will wait till swiftkey flow.
Best all, themes that customize the keyboard still work on this one.

As the comments in the Android Police article say it seems to be an old version, the one in videos of the Nexus 4 show a different popup for the word it's thinking you're trying to swipe.
Also some words with double letters seem to not work, such as "Off" Even while circling F a few times.
Here is the matching camera and gallery to go along with it http://omgdroid.com/?p=26584
Push to system/app and set permissions reboot!

Android 4.2 keyboard - Youtube link
Download ZIP file, and flash it in recovery. That also means you're going to need root. as you'll be writing to /system/apps. Before you do, though, either back up the stock keyboard (if you don't know how, you probably shouldn't be doing this) or create a full image backup, just in case.
Here's that ZIP file:
Download
Enjoy
P.S.
Set a new keyboard as default.
On Android keyboard settings you have a text correction.... you must to download dictionary.
Without this swype function doesn't work.
Cool!

Just installed.. Doesn't look like the keyboard in the video. Is this a swype hack?
nicely done. would be better if there is arrows when you swipe the spacebar upwards like in gingerbread keyboard
This probably not working with Sense ROMs, anyone tried it?

[MOD] Sense 6 Extreme Power Saving Mode

hey guys,
after all the hype from the launch event and now the port of the early system dump from m8 we have already a great sense 6 experience.
However a few things are missing until the official base is ported to our device.
one of them is the ultra power saving mode.
luckily i got it working on our sense 6 ports.
steps to get it working:
1st method:
flashable zip (confirmed working): https://www.dropbox.com/s/wn3nxs6ytdn1nvb/extreme power saver flashable.zip
2nd method:
1. Back up your current Settings.apk found in system/app
2. Back up your current HtcPowerManager.apk in system/priv-app
3. download the attached zip file and extract it https://www.dropbox.com/s/3lu0uwjgj8ydh9a/enable extreme power saver.zip
4. Copy downloaded Settings.apk in system/app and set permissions to rw- r-- r--
5. Copy downloaded HtcPowerManager.apk and HtcExtremePowerSaverLauncher.apk in system/priv-app and set permission of both apks to rw- r-- r--
restart your phone and enjoy the little preview.
i took the apk´s from @mike1986.´s m8 rom so credits for that!!
if anyone would like to make a flashable zip, feel free to do i will include it with credits here. right now i do not have the time
do a nandroid backup in case you do not know how to push back the original apks via adb.

I did not have enough time to test.
but what i could see is that it restricts background data, so basically no auto sync or push notifications. and further i think it kind of greenifies all apps except the ones you see in the square tiles. so basically it should work on our device. but on s801 deep sleep is heavily improved so i think it will work but not as good as on m8.
nvm
Thx mate, could you share the source of the info about the s801's deep sleep improvements, please?
