Just Download the attachment and Move the apk to system/app folder in Root Explorer. Make sure the permissions are set to RW-R-R. Reboot.
Can use ES-File Explorer too.. Just make sure permissions are set correctly and reboot.
or push the apk via adb.
NOTE: Don't try to install it.
EDIT: Update:
Download the zip attachment and flash it via cwm or any other recovery(Sphere "viewer" works..)

For me it's a great ROM, it's fast and stable. THANK YOU marcin1147!!!
But it has one nasty bug that seems to have not been fixed in a long time: Captured pictures and videos are rotated.
What i did is take an older camera.apk (from phiexz's CM 7.2 20120421- Nightly; Thank you phiexz!!!) and replace the original one.
Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/p666az1ed9lpfo2/Camera.apk
Copy the downloaded camera.apk to your SDcard.
I used Link2sd to remove the original camera app.
Then with file manager navigate to SD card and install downloaded camera.apk
Use link2sd to make system app (so not to uninstall by mistake).
Reboot.
Enjoy!
You can also replace the camera.apk in the zip before installing the rom.
I posted here because i can't yet post in dev section. If someone wants they can move this to ROM thread...

Does this fix the rotate taken pictures bug ?
Yes it does, I've tested all day, seems to be ok, also tried several different camera settings (macro, night mode, color effects etc) and it works great.
Thank you!

This fix has only one downside... Has the bug of ignoring turning off shutter sound. Is there any chance there will be another release with none of the two bugs? I mean rotation and shutter sound bugs.

Probably yes, AFAIK marcin is preparing to make it official, offcourse it will bug free

Actually for me it's already bugfree .. i installed camera patch and that the FM radio is not working i don't care (never use it ) haha but it will be cool if we have official .. just that feeling xD
Sent from my Gio using xda premium
I agree that this build is pretty cool. For me FM radio is not a issue, I do not use it. After replacing launcher with stock one and some personal tweaks it is by far best rom I ever used on GIO. So if this little bug with camera is fixed, I will be fully satisfied.
Does anyone have the stock CM10 camera I can flash? I used itsmikeramsay's 4.2 camera for awhile and wanting to switch back to the stock camera, but the link he provided does not work.
I've searched for it but all I get are threads from people that are having trouble with the CM10 camera, and not a flashable .zip or .apk. itself. :banghead:

I don't know if my OP is confusing or what-not, but I'm needing the Camera. The .apk you provided me was for Gallery, which I already have. But to be safe, I tried what you said and I'm still without a camera.
Sorry if there was any confusion.

Jellybean uses gallery and camera combined in one... should have worked... you can always re-flash cm10 rom you are one. Did you delete the 4.2 gallery, copy & paste old gallery, reset permissions and reboot?
The link he provided is the 4.2 camera as stated jelly bean gallery is incorporated with the camera. Follow the post he posted to set permission you should have it working

This is the stock Gallery 4.1.1.
Always use on 4.1.2 Roms, and now no longer serves me. For me it is a gallery that worked quite faster than the default brings now.
Hopefully someone knows and can help me. I have rom Deodex
PD: Zip would put the link to the gallery but the forum will not let me

It is a flashable zip. What I always did was delete the file with his odex secgallery with rootexplorer, and then flasheaba for recovery. Now what have I done now in 4.2.2 and fails to open the application.
In theory the flash it already has the permissions so no dice?
I upgraded to Beanstalk 4.4 which has been my DD. However, when I switch between the front and back camera my phone reboots. I saw a similar issue on the forum about it and the person said change the camera from 4.4 to 4.3 but I have no idea how to do this.
Thanks,
Steve

This has been an issue on 4.4 roms, what you have to do is:
Go to your file explorer (make sure you set root privilage to see sub-system folders)
go to this folder (sys>app)
Delete the camera2apk and gallery2.apk
flash this camera apk from CM 10.2
Once you do this camera would work.
Look for the file in this thread Galley apk

Yep, its the old CM 10.2 camera apk. I'm currently on Quantum RC4 (the best 4.4 release right now) and used this apk on RC3 rom that used to have the issue with the camera and it work flawlessly for me.

Just push the new apk to the file sys>app, hit it and install it like a regular app downloaded from playstore. This is not a file to be flashed via recovery, thats why you can't see it.

Tried also like this, with ES Explorer but when I copy it into /system/app and restart the apps are not recognized.
Also if I try to install them, I get an error.
