[Q] Task Manager? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Isn't this app built into the Galaxy series? Seems to be missing in the Tmo GN2. Are we to rely on a 3rd party app?

If we are thinking about the same thing, it's there. Hold the home button down and then click the circle in the lower left corner.

You can install a simple shortcut app that can send you directly to the Note2 built in taskmanager. This app was originally created for the GS3, however it works great on our Note2.
You can find it on the Google Play store: HERE.
If there is any issues with it, it will be: it stays on the screen for about 10 secs as an active task in itself before it disappears.
I hope this works for you.

When you press the button nothing happens? Or what does happen? What if you double tap
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium ,

When I long press the home button I get this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then by pressing the circle on the bottom left it takes me to the task manager that looks like this
Hope that helps.
Note 2, yeah son!

Suggestion to devs on soft buttons

I was wondering if a tweak can be made by adding something like this to work anywhere on the phone since most devs haven't updated their apps to hide the soft buttons. Thoughts?

i tried looking for code how to show and hide the soft buttons but cant find it.
It wouldn't be particularly hard, but...wouldn't you have to press power to show them again? Seems counter-intuitive.

Yea exactly. This is needed for full screen video apps that haven't updated their apps yet like Slingplayer. Would be an awesome feature.
Can't imagine the wear and tear the power button would have to go through.. I think a toggle in the notification dropdown would be nice
What about putting three fingers on the screen and pulling down to hide them and three fingers going up to show them
Ability to use full 720p for anything with a soft key overlay toggle is all I want changed from how Nexus is currently

wear and tear? u already use that button to turn on/off the screen and its not like this is something that would be used in every app. a toggle in notification would not work because the status bar is not accessible while watching a video in certain apps.
still looking for this
why not install lmt i used that for a while http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1564253
lmt and the fullscreen mod for the galaxy nexus = fullscreen awesomeness lol

[Q] ICS Buttons For Note 2

The note 2 is awesome.. ok with that said, do you guys know of a program that will give me ics buttons? I could defintely use a back button thats right by my thumb. Those software buttons would be very handy. Im talkin gabout just the ics back home, multitask buttons Thanks
ps. also as a gs1 user, im used to softly pressing the home, which I tend to do on my note 2 thinking it's software lol. i actually prefer light touches but appreciate the hw button as well
I tried a popular button software from the app store but it was pixelated. (dont remembe rthe name but it was the most popular one with where you pull the ics menu from the left or right side of the screen.) id even pay for it if someone made one thats super clean just like the real thing.

Camera - enable touch to take picture?

It seems as though everyone else can open the camera....touch the screen anywhere....and snap a picture. I don't know if my settings are weird or what's going on, but when i open my camera...i need to touch the screen to focus...then i have to actually press the shutter button at the bottom. How can i turn on touch to take a picture?

oh wow, all i had to do was hide settings apparently. thx!
Yes hide the menu then you can.
I'm glad you ran into this. My settings were hidden from the start and I assumed you always had to tap to focus+fire. I might have wondered wtf happened if I'd accidentally made the settings visible!
I feel really dumb... I can't get mine to take a photo at all. Screen press or camera button icon. Can anyone tell me what setting to change specifically? I've totally hidden the settings, I've changed to 10M, 3M, 13M... tried changing storage from internal to sd and back... doesn't matter what I do, I get nothing.

Question on s20+

Hello, this is my first Samsung device. I have one question that I can’t seem to find an answer for. On all my past Android devices, when I was done using the phone I could just briefly push the Home button to lock the device, not having to use the side button. Is there w way to set this device up to do that? Right now I have to continually have to use the side button, which to me in annoying. Is there a way to enable the home button (or add a button) to lock the device. I’m also using nova launcher. Thank you.

To open or lock the device just double tick the screen.
You can double tap on screen to lock or unlock...or you can use this floating button to have the lock option...

Question Is there any way to change what the smart pen buttons do?

Hi. I've been using the tablet for about 9 months, and bought it with the smart pen when I bought it. I've found it quite useful for note taking. However, something that annoys me is that the buttons' function can't be changed in the settings, and only do soemthing different in the Xiaomi Notes app. Is there any third party app/rom/way to change the buttons function?
Key Mapper, you can find it on Google Play Store.

Hello, there are times when I am writing (with the xiaomi smart pen) and I go to the bottom line (on the left side of the screen - approximately in the space of about 3 to 4 cm on the left side), it does not work. It is expected to touch somewhere on the screen more in the middle of the screen, so that it recognizes the writing, and I can go back to writing at the beginning of the line. How can I solve?
