[Q] Failed to connect via AllShare Cast - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I have the ATT GS3. I bought the AllShare Cast dongle on the samsung website.
However I'm not able to connect to it from my phone. It says "Failed to connect via AllShare Cast".
Did anyone managed to connect using ATT GS3?
I'm running stock 4.0.4 build number IMM76D.I747UCALH9
Thanks

[Q] Wireless tether version

Hi,
I rooted my EVO (temporary root using z4root 1.3). Installed wireless tether from market. Not sure of the version. Ran with defaults. Could not see the device from GTAB. Tried my notebook I am able to see and connect to my device but no internet. Network status says limited or no connectivity. Upgraded wireless tether to latest experimental version from google site.. still the same result. (wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre15.apk). I know my phone is rooted as I get messages saying I am super user.
1)Whats the wireless tether version that is working for others on EVO?
2)Is there any other setup needed on the EVO for this to work ?
thanks

No Screen Mirroring after Upgrade to 4.4.2

Hi!
After upgrading my Neo to 4.4.2 I cannot connect to my Allshare Cast Dongle.
The error message is:
"Screen mirroring can not be started because of a hardware problem"
Under 4.3 this was no problem.
I upgraded to 4.4.2 with the firmware Saudi Arabia, rooted with CF-Autoroot and installed SD-Fix for access to my SD-Card.
I installed the Allshare Cast SW Update from Google Play, but no effect.
Any idea?
Thanks

Been a while since I tried it so can't remember if it worked or not now but try Wanam Kit (Requires Xposed) & fool the system/ROM into thinking it's not rooted/modified.
I tried with root cloack and did not work
For the Galaxy S4 there is a solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2621550
The key is to disable the dhcp protection. I tried to add the line wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable to the bottom the build prop. That did not work but now, instead of a hardware issue i have a connection error, so something have changed. Since then the tab tries to connect real hard but the connection error finally appears.
I have a rooted Tab 3 (sm-t310) with TWRP recovery and stock 4.4.2 ROM. Neither screen mirroring, nor the SmartVIew app worked after upgrading from stock 4.2.2. I tried using the build.prop edit (adding "wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable"), and my Tab 3 would "connect" to my Samsung TV (F8500 series), but it never actually started mirroring to the TV. When I tried using the SmartView app, instead of mirroring the TV screen to my Tab 3, it gave the message "not available".
Fixing Screen Mirroring
I replaced the /system/lib/libWFD_ENGINE.so file with this version: Screen_Mirroring_UFND3_fix.zip and changed the permissions to "rw-r--r--". After rebooting, screen mirroring worked.
Fixing SmartView
I found that SmartView only works when I have stock recovery installed. I can use Odin to flash between stock recovery or TWRP, but that's a pain. Instead I'm using Flashify to switch between recovery images. The free version of Flashify allows 3 flashes per day, which is plenty for me.
Does this work on 4.2.2 ?????

[Q] Wifi Tether on Sprint Note 2 as of May 2015

I've been scouring forums trying to find an answer, hoping someone can help.
I've got a rooted Sprint Note II running Android 4.4.2 and I can't get any version of wifi tethering to work.
I tried the X Tether xposed module (with a bunch of different settings) and TrevE Mod of course doesn't work.
I tried to purchase Fabio Grasso's WiFi tether router (which I saw many times in my forum searches) but playstore on my phone says it's not supported for my device and won't let me download it.
I was able to purchase and install it on my Note Pro 12.2 tablet, but couldn't get an APK to transfer over to my Note 2. The apk downloader chrome extension only works on a computer, not on the android version of chrome (as far as I can tell) so I couldn't get it that way either.
I honestly forgot which ROM I flashed, but it was either Diamond Rom v6.0 or Alliance-NE2-Build_1 (pretty sure it was the latter)
I'm willing to flash another ROM to get this to work. Not sure what to do, but I really want tether working again, especially since my tablet is the wifi only version.
Any tips?
rwilco's rom's been working fine with tethering for me:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...rom-rwilco12s-stock-ne2-v1-0-8-24-14-t2857216
i'm only using 1.1 and using the native wifi hotspot
