Anyone out there brave enough to share up their OEM ROM?
Or even the original WWE from HTC?
From what I understand, there's at least 3 carriers in NA w/ HTC Vogue: AFAIK, we've got Sprint, Bell and Telus.
People, share up your ROM!
Doesn't look like there are too many people who want to help you with this. I'm looking into swapping my Titan for a Vogue in the near future so once I have it I will find out how to dump the Rom and see whats even possible. I would say that the only real reason to build a custom ROM with this particular device would be to remove all of the bloatware from Sprint. It is the TOUCH, the epitome. It is what everyone else here is trying to replicate. Why change it except to maybe change the page pool or remove unwanted apps? It's already great as it is.
I hate the sprint bloatware - forced Sprint page start up on mobile IE, etc, I dislike what Sprint has done with the ROM. more then willing to be a test case.
actually....
actually it is possible and the oem roms are posted if you search.
I have a touch and i've had it since they day it came out. A couple weeks after it was released ImCokeMan released a patched SPL to allow you to flash with custom roms.
There are also OEM Roms for the Touch from Sprint readily available if you do a little searching. I'd suggest checking out ppcgeeks.com
btw... i've cooked several custom roms for the Sprint Touch (Vogue). The thing is that the Touch (Vogue) has a pretty solid, high performance rom to begin with. There are only a few modifications that anyone would even desire in a custom rom at this point...
again "search" is your friend.
Thx; however, there's only a couple out there from Sprint... I was hoping to try out some other OEMs....
Vogue is a pretty strong ROM... not much to add to it except GPS and WIFI... that's the "million dollars question...
I just want the strip down non-sprint OEM ROM.

This could also be problematic... Without the extras that Sprint adds onto the ROM(barring Pocket IE), it could affect the phone functions as well couldn't it? This is not a standard GSM phone we are talking about here that simply needs a Network Wizard to automatically configure for carrier. This is a little more advanced.
I believe removing all non-OEM settings/apps from the ROM might render it not usable on their network.
However, one way is to input some network settings manually afterwards....
##778# gives you some details to maybe copy manually....
For Bell, my touch has
the radio version of 1.59.1 and rom version 1.17
Well I think that someone needs to build some kind of custom ROM if anything. The Touch has a bad memory leak in the official ROM. If you leave the device on, plugged in and turned on, for more than 24 hours you will notice a considerable memory leak. The device has 128Mb of RAM and after soft-reset with nothing running on the device other than the OS, it has 77Mb free. After being turned on for more than 25 hours without soft-reset, it only has less than 45Mb free. That more than 30Mb leak is a big problem for anyone looking to max out their system and add all of the latest and greatest apps and games for their phones.

I thought this was a bug in WM6 in general. I have seen alot of Mogul users complain about this as well.
It is a common problem with most Windows Mobile 6 based devices but I have seen it fixed. It's a major leak I'm talking about though. Nothing small and annoying, but a BIG leak that is aggravating.
telus rom
I will give you a copy of my telus rom if you tell me how to dump it, I'm kind of a noob
From what's mentioned, it seems as though my Bell Touch is pretty much a bare ROM, not much bloatware installed by bell, and what's there is easily removed. It even comes preloaded with Esmertec Jbed.
Pretty cool, as canadian providers usually cripple the crap out of their phones. I hope this is a sign of change in our mobile industry.

My touch has Rom 1.16.666.1
Radio: 1.59.00
Would be nice if bell released updates regularly
I read a post on PPCGeeks that said you can by-pass the Sprint customizations. In the post it said the only thing you have to do is manually load the cabs for Sprint TC and Win Live. I have been thinking about doing a Hard Reset anyway to clean out some of the foot prints left by things I have installed and then removed.
I will give it a try and report back.

Yes, you can opt out of most of the Sprint stuff at the initial power on of the device. Immediately when the Vogue launches into windows and the theme is still at the teal WM6 default a popup appears with a 3 second timer set to press YES. If you press NO then it does not load up the black Sprint theme (your sign that it did not go through) and the expected stuff. I am not positive if a hard reset will take you back to that point.

After I loaded the ROM without the Sprint customizations I had problems with voicemail. I got a VM and I could not get the notification to go away no matter what I did. I have got back to the Sprint customizations and I have not had any problems
I realy like the Planner app on my A100, however, the city timezone/weather selector, does not list us cities. is there a resource file that could be hacked with other cities and weather codes?
I've noticed that, too. I thought I was just missing something.
Seems odd, Acer, that you would release a device with such a crippled app.
I can't figure out why no us cities either. It's the only thing holding me back from using the planner which actually seems pretty cool. I've pulled the .apk out of some of the recover.zip files in the dev forum, but didn't make a difference. Would love it if some one hacked the app for US citiies.
i would like to know this too.
May have to wait til custom Roms start being made so devs can get a closer look at what may be causing that to be that way, and that's not gonna happen til the hc source code is released, and hopefully that will be soon because I'm not really diggin honeycomb as it is and would like to downgrade to gb, if it will even be possible. I've noticed alot of incompadibility issues with alot of the apps I use regularly on my phone, and I mean the ones that have nothing to do with the fact that its a phone. Games included.
Btw, is it even possible, currently, to downgrade to gb without root?
ummmmm............ could you repeat that?
I have an old mediatek based redme note4, so very much due an upgrade. The cameras on this look pretty decent and good enough for my youtube vid work...
But I have one issue i want to address...
On my old Note4 using MiUi ive noticed that A LOT of system programs dial home to aliexpress servers... I assume to Xiaomi controlled servers... Ive noticed this quite regularly when doing certain tasks like using Chrome or email, or installing apps...
Now I want to get this phone, I kinda need to know that there will be some roms going around that will strip all this crap out. Annoyingly though I like MiUI as an interface. I just dont like this phone dialing home as much as it is.
So got the few questions.
As its snapdragon, i realise in all likely hood there will be custom roms. What will my likely options be? Lineage? Will there likely be a MiUi with the nastiness stripped?
And I also, when I root the phone to do all this is there anyway to mask the root? I use banking apps that wont run if the phones been rooted...
Anyway I realise its early day. Just thought I should ask. I might be getting the phone around december or january...
We can expect that there would be xiaomi eu rom support which is debloated miui with additional languages. (Also with their shi**y roboto font)
Custom roms may not be your favor cuz they usually give you same boring aosp experience whatever you install.
Magisk has a "hide" feature that allows to have root and still use Bank apps.

This typically doesn't work anymore, or it works with very high efforts for a short period.
Mine is arriving today and I will be unlocking the bootloader ASAP.
Xiaomi usually let you unlock the bootloader although you have to wait and the custom ROM scene for past Xiaomi devices has been good (I've had both a Mi 5 and Mi 9 and can testify to this).
So long as someone builds for this device, you'll probably end up with a fair selection of ROMs to choose from including customised / debloated versions of MIUI which aren't too bad either
I want a private rom or custom rom
I have some function or features to add
google free rom , or no google app in it.
will pay 1k usd ,who can customize it contact me. skype:sudhir.jatrana
There's only 2 models of the zfold3 that can be rooted the rest are locked with no ability to root period because Samsung locked it down. There's a guide in this section of the forum for rooting that has both models listed and if yours isn't one of those you are **** out of luck
Also, Google makes the Android ROM base. So are you wanting to install a ROM that lacks the Google apps? There is a thread that shows how to remove system apps, but you might remove things that are required for Android to run.
I can understand the idea you have, but you may not be in luck for a working result.
it's definitely possible
I'm also looking for a way to get privacy on my Z Fold 3
Been pretty successfull so far with getting suckerberg out with modded insta and whatsapp, but Google is deep in the system and I desperetely need a rom without it
Well you can remove gapps with adb app control app on windows and using debugging settings. But you'd lose out on getting security updates from Google. And no telling how much it would break Samsung stuff. No clue how it would turn out. But it wouldn't be a custom ROM. It would be a severely stripped down Samsung stock ROM. If you try it and don't like it, just wipe it and start over. Keep us in the loop and let us know how it works.

Just use your 1000 dollars, and buy a pixel 6 pro and install graphene os, that's about as good as your going to get, unless you decide to build your own room based on lineage os, but with a phone this expensive, your not gonna find custom ROMs. Or look into gsi's and have a play with those, pretty much your only option or choice im afraid, unless you want a crippled stock Samsung ROM, which would be pointless
Honestly man, if you are wanting to De-Google your phone and be able to do a lot of things like this, the LAST thing you should have done is go with such a new phone. Especially if you know ANYTHING about Android and Rooting. You should know that rooting is not always a thing and in the case of new phones, it can take a while to get it to where you want/need. Like YEARS.
What you SHOULD have done is gone with an older, more customizable phone that has a TON of ROM's and support in this regard.
In short, RESEARCH. Buying a phone that you want and then going out to the modding community and making a request like this is going to get you... well... pretty much what you're getting...
Good luck, but I can promise you that you are not going to get what you want 100%, but, I hope that the suggestions offered here get you close to what you want, but you're not going to get what you want with a Z Fold 3.
I have an old tablet that's essentially unknown to the internet. The model number is AT-8077B(-USA), which apparently belongs to the manufacturer Asiatech 52, but I also found the manufacturer listed as "intel" somewhere during my rooting attempts. Either way, this device seems to be rather rare and obscure. It also seems to have an OEM that lacks the update functionality entirely. There's nothing regarding updates anywhere in the Settings app. The fccid.io website has a User Manual for it, but that doesn't have anything at all more advanced than turning it on, charging it and using the Browser app.
Since it's very old, it has Android 4.4.4 installed, which is essentially useless nowadays. As far as I could tell, anything remotely modern needs Android API 21+ because of TLSv1.2 support, so the tablet, while in good shape technologically, is essentially unusable.
I'm now trying to get anything with API 21 or higher onto this thing. I managed to root it with iRoot, but I'm completely lost regarding a modern Android. I thought if I can't find an actual Android build to put on it, I could use a custom ROM, but every guide I found has huge warning boxes telling me I need to follow the exact steps for my specific device at one point or another, and those simply don't exist.
I there some kind of generic guide (and ROM) I can use to get this tablet to operate with API 21+? I don't need a whole lot from it, but it's barely managing to load some websites while most apps either crash or fail to load anything, both of which I've deduced are caused by the outdated TLS/Android API. I really don't care what exactly ends up on the thing as long as I can install APKs and use them without getting error messages regarding API 21+.

Well.. if It's obscure, I don't think some developers made some roms for it yet.. However, you can use older versions of those apps or basically use alternate versions. If you're looking for Firefox, you can install the latest APK that supports Android 4.4.4. I use Android 4.4.4 still, and I understand the TLSv1.2 support is mere non-existant, and the best way to get app support is to use the latest version that supports API 21. Still though, I don't think there's any ROMS or custom recovery for your tablet (I don't know if CWM or TWRP is released for it), however you can still utilize the tablet even with its age.
Is there a chance I can just use something that's not tailor-made for it and still be fine or is it essentially guaranteed I'll brick it if I use anything that's designed for a different device?

Thing is using something designed for a different device... will always almost guarantee you will turn your tablet to a brick.
