Now at 11.95 Gigs for total internal storage. Is the OS really taking 4gigs of space? I also think RAM went down a little too.

I'm on LI3 and it's showing 12.05 GB for device storage. In Task Manager it shows my RAM as xx/1.59GB.
11.95 here too. I never looked at it before since I have never had an issue with internal storage. So not sure what it was.

I'm on the official OTA of JB (JI7) and RAMs 1.56. Touchwiz UX must take a Sh/t load of space too but i love all the features you get with it so I'll take the little less RAM and Memory

I've also been seeing my phone using a lot more RAM then before. Around 1.65 to 1.74 being my highest I've seen. With just my regular daily apps running. I'm a download some app and she what's eating it uo

Boot into clockwork, Then scroll to backup/restore and you see a delete option inside. So it has to be done through clockwork.

It's not occupying any ram. Especially since the Gnex only has 1GB.

That must be 2GB of space on the memory he is talking about!

download root explorer if you have not already and go to sd card/clockwork mod/backup and delete which ever one you wanted to
Dint help...I had to do it in recovery mode.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
The blob folder occupies the most space.
I believe, however, that erasing that folder will render all backups useless.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Deleting the backup in recovery mode would take care of the blob part, you don't ve to delete blobs separately .

Usually my ram is at 500-600mb at normal usage but now after I installed antutu benchmark test from play store it keeps increasing to .9gb to 1.12gb with no usuage at all I clear ram leave it then check it out after hour or so the ram fills up and draining the battery with 10% drained I restarted the phone same thing even with uninstalling the app it is really annoying draining the battery like that and having ram at this level what do u think I should do or what is causing it.
Thanks

It will remain always like that. you need not to do anything, android itself having LMK(low memory killing) and will make free whenever it needs.
So keep as it is, It's good for health.
PS : Though you want to keep free, use option limit background process in developer option in setting, don't know ultimately how much it will improve battery, but surely it will take time to open application.
Don't worry too much about RAM usage, and don't use task killers. Unlike with Windows or your usual linux distribution, android has control on which app stays in memory and which one is killed. And it is pretty good at managing this without user intervention.
As for battery life, I recommend BetterBatteryStats if you whant to know what is draining it. But by personal experience, I think you should look at apps that use background data connection, like Facebook.
Mine always sits around 1.55 - 1.65ghz lol
Edit: I just realised I wrote GHz instead of GB. *facepalm* fail on my behalf lol

Does anything not work as you think it should? Or is this just a matter of numbers? Any performance issues?
See what I'm getting at?
What's the problem?

The problem it wasn't like that and now the issue is the battery drainage with this high ram even after a factory reset.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
The battery drainage is much more likely from you constantly trying to kill all those apps, since they then have to restart again. If your phone is not slow, just don't worry about it.

I can get max 370mb of free memory
I installed pandora and used it for like 30 minutes, then havent used it for more than a week. However it has used 5 gb of data. This has never happened in galaxy s2 and nexus 7. So I uninsalled pandora from my s4 and installed iheartradio but didnt use it. Now it shows that it has already used 2 gb of data. Has this happened to any of you guys? Is it problem with apps or is it my phone?
P.s. the background data for pandora is about 4.5 gb and foreground is 500 mb. Iheartd radio foreground is 24 mb and background is 1.7gb

You can go to the data settings in the settings menu and disable background data for apps that are taking advantage of it like this.
If you are rooted you can also use an app called Greenify that allows you to automatically freeze any user app when you stop using it, and unfreeze it when you want to use it again. That will stop the app from being able to be active when you aren't using it. But you must be rooted. It is available on the play store.
Sent from your phone. You should be careful where you leave that thing.
Thanks. I disabled background data right after I installed them but I guess that didnt work.

My girlfriends galaxy S4 on AT&T is currently doing this with Pandora. Pandora is using a ton of data, mostly background data, even when she isn't using the app. I don't know how to fix it.

I don't think you understand how RAM and android work together. Having a big amount of ram used up is not a bad thing. it just means that there are plenty of things cached so apps start faster, web sites load up faster etc. If you have a big battery drain then you might reconsider your ram issues as probably something is active all the time and using your cpu involuntarily which shouldn't be the case.
Well i didnt use to have this problem and it gets to the stage where the phone starys to lag to much and when i check the ram it sometimes have 50 ram free only. I have to restart the phone and then after a few hours when i check the phone again its back to max ram without me starting anything.

You're troubleshooting a problem that doesn't exist. So good luck, you'll never be able to fix it because it's not a problem in the first place.
Hmm strange people around xda lately.
Of-course it's a problem you numbnut and its called "memory leaks" but you wouldn't know that while trolling around.
The perennial problem of having low free memory causing lagginess and slowness in launching apps. When you have free memory lingering around the number of 40MB or less, the Android OS just lags like hell.
