Hi Team!
Loving Note 2!
I'm currently on: GT-N7100_WanamLite.Deodexed.ZSALJ7.NO-WIPE.zip
(stock rom).
The problem now is, my sms contacts show up as numbers. I'm not sure how to correct this. Originally I was on XXALJ3.
Really appreciate some help to link the contact names to the numbers on my SMS and Caller ID.
I wouldn't want to lose my sms messages or whatsapp messages.
Thank you!

Hi guys,
I have a GSM Galaxy Nexus running stock 4.0.4
Recently my Nexus has failed to send any texts. Everytime I try, it just says "Message not sent." I can receive texts, just not send them. Everything else mobile network related is fine, including data, phone calls, and the like. I was just wondering whether you guys would know anything I could do.
Thanks a lot,
Zengster6474

Thanks! Same thing as I did but it was a little trickier with Telstra.
Hi guys!
Today i've tried to send a sms to my friend, but the stock mms.apk keeps saying the message it's "Sending" but the other person never receives the message.
I've tried to replace stock mms.apk with another mms.apk but that isn;t working too...tried with handcent sms and works.
Any ideas?I would like to send messages with the stock app cuz looks cleaner Thanks.
wich rom are you on?
device? M V L model?
Stock bug-free 2.3.6
About the model i'm not sure:-?
Hmm it should work....
Dont know why..you are sure your data works? Maybe its a provider problem

Yeah it works I can make calls...
I've also tried to restore but the issue persists..
Solved it by reinstalling the whole ROM
stock 2.3.6 isn't very good.

I have a Rogers Galaxy Note 2 and ever since flashing CleanROM (ever since it came out) my timestamps for my texts are off by 5 hours exactly and my caller ID no longer works. Numbers show up only unless I save the number into my phone. Is this due to me flashing an ATT ROM? I don't really understand how those can be "broken" by a ROM, aren't they provided from your carrier? Any how, I'm fixing the SMS problem through a Market app called SMS Time Fix but as for the caller ID I have nada =/ If anyone can help that would be great!

Not that I have any clue about that ROM but it sounds to me like it's using a wrong location for the time stamp. Is there any way to set your time zone in the ROM?

Haha if you read my OP I'm already using that app to fix my SMSes
Sorree,
I thought you said how to use that app.
Okay re-reading
This Sms time stamp error and caller id issue I had couple times while flashing Roms on my Galaxy S2 (gt-i9100) and Note LTE (i717).
Its bcoz csc file changes and default settings of our Sim card conflicts with system files.

I don't think that this is accepted by my carrier and there must be an option to do so without using any external apps.
Thanks for your help and waiting for others to share

So what is your carrier? Vodafone or Etisalat or Mobinil ?? All support it

Just by pressing once space. Is the only way I found

Guess I've never been able to send an empty SMS with any phone. Other then a space with no letters.
Your ONLY option is to use a third party app like Handcent or GOSMS. No way to do it on the stock messaging app
Use emoji keyboard. . The emoticons don't get sent. ..only empty messages get sent. ..lol
I am on omega v9 rom. ..emoji keyboard is inbuilt
scribbled from my note 2 (N7100)

But you do have to input an emoticon first, right? Whether it gets sent or not, is not the issue. The OP needs a Null message to use his service provider's features like checking balance etc. A space, an unsent emoticon is not a Null message.
Thanks everyone for your replies and I tried the suggestion of sending a message that contains only a space and managed to participate in the offers successfully
Thanks for your help and please all accept my sincere regards. You truly helped me
