Hi all. Got a problem with my One X where it seems something is using all my storage space.
Has anyone seen this before? Easy fix? Going to move to a different Rom soon but this is crippling my phone until I move. Will post my current Rom in a follow up.
Villan Rom 1.1.1 is what I'm running.

Known problem prior to 1.29.401.11 (or equivalent). If your base is same or newer, just copy the data off the phone, format SD Card and copy it back on.
Ok thanks BenPope. Will give that a try.

Yup. It's a known issue that HTC has fixed in their updates Just copy everything from your SD, format it through the phone options, then copy everything back. It's an issue where files aren;t "really" deleted, hence still taking the space that should have been freed.
Sorry for the late reply to this. Where can I get the base files from?
You can use MIUI rom,but it's not android 4.1
Hello I am new here on the forum.
I replaced the internal memory by external put games on memory card and it worked just fine. But I decided to buy a 32gb card to be able to put more games, pictures, videos etc, I decided to format the memory card for the phone, but had forgotten that I had changed the memory, and unintentionally formatted internal memory, now the games that worked no longer work, maybe should have deleted some important file in the internal memory. I decided to undo this process of exchange and formatted the memory card and internal memory of the games and get nothing, then I decided to restore factory default again and the games did not work, put stock rom, including cyanogen 9, and yet the game did not work , and ended up going back to stock rom, I have android 2.3.6, build number GINGERBREAD.VJLB1. Does anyone know any way to reverse this situation?
Thank you...

I don't think deleting is reversible, unless you did a backup.

Try to reinstall the apps / games. And some games needs their own data so download it again.

Reinstalled the game and put the dates still did not work, the apps work normally, problem is in play dates that do not work. I believe it is an important file of android that erased the internal memory.

Hmm. Then try to reflash your rom then install the game again. See if that works.

OK... please explain EXACTLY what happens with your games...
You touch the icon for your game, then.........?
From my Galaxy W on CyanogenMod with Tapatalk 2
Then the following message appears. The application Asphalt 7 (com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GLoftA7HM process) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Appears below force close. This message appears when the game starts and when it returns to the home screen android…
Is this the only game you have issues with?
Do your other games/apps run OK?
Have you installed CyanogenMod 9?
If the answers to the above questions are all yes, then I'm sorry but there's AFAIK no answer for you.....Asphalt force closing on CM9 is a known issue, and I don't think that a work around has been discovered. Go to the CM9 FAQ and bug report thread and read/ask there.....
Edit.....you might also want to ask in the CM10 FAQ bug report thread, to see if anybody's having asphalt 7 issues in that ROM.......
Don't forget to hit thanks if I've helped

Are you trying to restore the "user generated" game data.....high scores, progress saves etc?......
This should NOT be attempted as it is known that this WILL cause force closes......

I think you misunderstand.
I did this procedure.
Internal/External swapping
This mod will swap ur internal sd with external sd. Before swapping, backup the data on both sd cards to ur pc and manually "swap" the data from each other.
Then download and extract the vold.fstab from the attachment replace the one under /system/etc by using root explorer. Then reboot and enjoy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1595252
Once formatted the phone in setting / storage / Unmount SD card / Format SD card.
as the process changes the memory formatted the internal memory instead of external ..
I really am sorry fella.....my knowledge of android is limited to my phone and what I've done to it/read about on this forum. I just don't know what else you could try......have you left a comment in the thread you linked to in your comment above?.....whoever created that thread obviously has more knowledge about android and the vold fstab modification than I do....and I can't help but wonder if that is where your problems started.....

I hope that I posted this in the right spot. My Note 2 keeps telling me, insufficient storage available. I still have over 9 gigs of storage left. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

i am running a stock rooted rom. It happens whenever i try to install any app, whether in the Play Store or by sideloading an app.
There is another thread with what sounds like an almost identical problem.

Check that thread as I believe they solved it.

Thanks for the help, I figured it out. I forgot that I had the app links2SD installed and had it for the default location of going to the SD card instead of automatic. Going to the provided link helped me remember. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for your reply! I had the same exact problem as you, but didn't have links2SD on my phone... I had installed something else similar to that. I went ahead and downloaded links2SD, and did what you said worked for you, and that was to set the installation location to automatic, rather than to SD. Now my phone finally works again!!!
I recommend anyone with this same problem to grab links2SD, and follow the steps above. I've tried everything I could find, apart from a factory reset. So glad it didn't come to that. Not sure what caused the problem either. I'm thinking it has something to do with LuckyPatcher, since I've had this problem before installing any type of "App 2 SD" apps on my phone.
~Thanks again!
I unlocked my Bootloader today and without knowing basically wiped my SD card of all personal files including music, text message backup files, my backup root files, ALL files. I honestly dont care to recover all files that were deleted but am dying to get my pictures back. Is there anyway i can get them back without the guide used to get back all deleted files as seen in this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994705 guide? I was trying it but it doesnt wanna play right with my laptop(Windows 8 and it keeps saying i dont have "permission", even though im the main and only user). I tried the disk digger app but its finding all kind of random pictures i never remember and things like that, just too much. So please if anyone knows anyway i can get them back share some insight.
Anything????
That was a super fast bump...you could try recovering everything with disk digger and trying to pick out what you're looking for after it finishes. The recovery applications look for anything that has not been overwritten in memory (even if it was deleted), it won't pick and choose the most recently saved stuff for you; you usually need to do that yourself.

On my M8, I'm trying to reinstall Xposed (reinstall because I stopped using it for a while and wanted to save some space) but when I boot into recovery, TWRP isn't showing me what's on my device. In the "Install" section, it doesn't give me the right menu. I don't know how to explain it, it shows me things that I'm not looking for. I've done this many times before and so I know what its supposed to look like. It doesn't show me any of my downloads (which BTW there isn't a downloads folder either), even if they're .zip files, it only shows me folders. Its really hard to explain but I also noticed that my backups are gone even though I did one yesterday. If i go into ES file explorer, and look into my recovery, i can still find my backups from TWRP. I'm running CM12.1 if it makes a difference and the device was on Sense 6 5.0.1 before that. Both are and were working perfectly.
Hey man sorry was just passing threads and saw this. I cant help but just to say your maybe better moving this thread to the help part here mate - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help you might get quicker answers in that department :good:
