Hey all I'm looking at replacing my s3 and N7 with a Note 2. I don't have a problem with the size for a phone but is it big enough to replace a N7? I know this is really opinion based so that's all I'm looking for. I pretty much just use my N7 for watching YouTube and I don't want to watch it and feel like I have to strain if that male sense. Any opinions welcome thanks!

Hi. I think the best way to answer your question is that you have to try it out for yourself. Go to a shop and try an actual note 2 out. Screen size and eye strain are relative factors depending on the person and I consider it as a personal preference. Though I think the note 2 screen is big enough not to cause eye strain.

I have both and I would say the You Tube and Netflix experience is better on the Nexus 7. Netflix is great on the Nexus 7 IMHO.
You could manage on the Note 2, but it is just not quite big enough for me.
After I have purchased my original note 1 about a year ago, I have never bothered with any 7 inch tabs

I'm currently using a Fire HD and Note 2. Perfect combo. HD replaced my N7.

I am actually doing the same thing OP. As soon as my Note 2 arrives I will be selling my S3 and N7.
I rather carry one device to do all that I need done on a mobile device.

OG Note made me sell the ipad 2 at the time. And I jumped on Note 2 on its release day. No need for tablet for me anymore.
Maybe swap my ageing MBA for a Surface later on if that's convincing enough though.
My 2 rupies =)

Personally I don't think its big enough to replace the N7, it certainly won't be replacing mine.

already got the phone and i am still looking forward to his review lol
My favorite reviewer on youtube for smartphones. He talks about stuff I care about. Too many review videos talking about specs and the same things.
LOL, I also peep his reviews... always entertaining...

Waiting on mine in the mail
Has he ever said that a phone wasn't a go?
I was also kind of salty for about 2 seconds. I had my box sitting next to me face down and he held his up with the hand sticker, man why didn't I get one of those? Then he he called out what it was lol.

OK...I got the ticker but am I able to choose the news source I want? Not really liking yahoo news...
I can agree with him on the epic.
And for the news I'm still trying to figure that out also.

Posted the "REAL REVIEW" in the first post. Far as the news ticker on the lock screen, that's in the lock screen options. I got it on my GS3.
Yup that's my dude. I actually pucked up the device after I watched his review. Gave up my s3 to my shortie lol

Would you say the Note II is a lot better than the GS3 or just a little better?

I dont believe you can change the news source. But If you choose information ticker>settings, you can choose what type of news to display (i.e. entertainment, us news, sports...) HOWEVER, Does anybody know how to make theFacebook ticker work? NOTHING I do will make it work, it says no data to display, when I push the refresh button on lock screen nothing happens.

Comparison analogy, the s3 is a v10 Lamborghini, and the note 2 is a v12 Lamborghini. With jelly bean, the s3 performance is really really good, and note 2 even better. How I use the phone, I would say it's a lot better. Reasons why, bigger better screen, stylus activity, bigger better screen, bigger better screen, extra performance, better game performance, more thoughtful ui enhancements, more features and last but not least, bigger better screen.

LOL nice!! Good to see people are liking it.
I just wished Samsung could of done the S3 Mini with the same high end specs and share some of the features as the S3/Note II. That would be the phone for anybody who wants to try Android but are skeptical or worried of the "big size" of the phones.

Hello all, th7s is my first post to xda so please excuse any errors on my part. Now down to business. I own a galaxy note 2, the sph-l900 version to be more exact and over the last few months the xda community was able to put popular demand to UAG's attention. UAG finally released a note 2 case as a result, and as someone who owns one I have to say, I love the case. Now if you go to UAG's site you will see they make an ipad case, my goal in this post is to guage how popular the idea of a UAG case for our note 10.1's would be. If we can get enough people on board maybe lightning will strike again and we can add UAG to the growing list of cases for the note 10.1.

For this being your first post it sure looks familiar http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219394
Please tell us ....... What make this UAG case so special that you post almost the exact same thing 2 times since the the 3rd of April.
For a minute I thought I was Bill Murray in the movie Groundhog Day.
.
I don't think he's bragging about his UAG on his Note 2. I guess he just wanted feed back on how many of us would want a case from the same manufacturer for the 10.1. Seems legitimate to me, but he should have bumped that thread rather than starting a new one. We write this off to him being new... Now I suggest he contact a Mod and have him/her close the older thread as it has comments.
I would live uag for my note 10.1 ..I have it for my s3 and love it ...it will be perfect if they come up with uag with a kick stand .

My apologies for the mix up. I post the April third post then posted here as I realized this was the appropriate section. I would like to point out at no time was this post intended as bragging, I use my UAG note 2 case everyday and think that the design is great. Just wanted to know if there were people out there who felt the same about a UAG case for the note 10.1 is all

Is selling my Nexus 4 for the Note 2 worth it? I highly doubt I need the Note 3 specs, so I might just settle to get a Note 2 and then the S5. What's a price I should pay for the Note 2 brand new? $450-$500?
Definitely worth note 2 in my opinion is still the top smartphone out just check out all the versus videos on youtube. The note 2 always comes out the winner

What about a price? I sold my S3 for the N4 and I miss my Touchwiz software.
Go for the Note 2

Just having the Note 2's screen size has made my experience with my new phone amazing. Yes, it is a little uncomfortable to text with but when I am stuck for hours somewhere, I put the Note on it's stand, lean way back, and watch a movie on a big ass screen.
You can still get aosp ROMs so you want be missing a thing from nexus 4. Bigger screen, bigger battery. Touchwiz, something you were looking for. Great phone. You'll get many ppl saying, its so big!!!! aha

Its a great phone. I bought mine off of craigslist for $450 with a otterbox defender. Brand new is still running above $700.00.
Paid 380 for a mint used last week off CL.
So if I go with something in mint condition, paying around $380-$450 is good? How about warranties, do they transfer over if someone were to sell a phone that's still under warranty?
When all is said and done, it's a wonderful device... But once it's in a case and I have set it up how I want, it feels just like a note 2!

Yeah I've played with it at the store didn't see that much of any big changes:thumbdown:.
But the screen, probably the CAMERA no(OIS), and the fact you can use the S-pen on the menu buttons( that's what LMT Pie is for) and a few other items.
+100:thumbup: on the N2s Lmao
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 4
that is because touchwiz needs a major upgrade.
i went to the store and play with it. I do like the larger screen and higher res. More importantly, I feel lighter weight really made a huge difference. The slightly narrorw (just so tiny) made small difference in hand feeling. The performance is also great due to better CPU and storage performance. If i have the money I would so get it. Anyone wants to trade note 3 for note 2
performance is great on the Note 2 if you know what you are doing..
Not enough of a difference to bother getting, especially when you factor in the locked down status, and that plastic leather cover...
Agree thats its more like a "Note 2S" than a real "innovative upgrade"...
Probably need to continue the discussion here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187272
