Is there a "Flashy" ROM, like Sense 3.5 out there? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Recently I switched from T-Mobile G2 (Desire Z) to the S3. On G2 there are a lot of ROMs based on HTC Sense 3. I like the look, it had a flashy HD interface but my G2 wasn't powerful enough to run it. And here at seems that all the ROMs have the same ICS/JB look. I didn't much like MIUI. I would love if there was a Sense 3.5 port. Any suggestions?

I don't think sense can be ported on to Samsung phones but I'm sure there's a sense theme for cm10 on the market place
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium

not another one of these threads...
Yes it can be ported over, no it hasn't for this phone. The Nexus S has a successful port to it's phone by the same team that is working on the S3 port.
You are going to get rammed in the A by people saying you should've bought an HTX phone with Sense on it.
No suggestions, embrace a bloat free CM variant rom.

Why buy a touchwiz sgs3 when you like the sense UI? Don't understand

I guess sense is what I miss most of htc it was really awesome, better than TW
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium

To be fair he was asking for something flashy like sense not necessarily sense it self. Also to the people who say "just get an HTC phone many people including myself aren't too happy with HTC lineup this year. Especially if your coming from T-Mobile (most likely you are if you are in this forum) then it boils down to Samsung note II/GS3 or one S and to make it's a no no-brainer. Hell I would rather have gs2 then one S

Yeah we have a flashy 'rom like sense'... It's called touchwiz bro
But it's more so a ui overlay or launcher fwiu

I really would not call wiz flashy as I don't see it as eye candy. Although must say pretty handy

You make my point excellently. YOU wouldn't call touchwiz 'flashy.' the problem with the op asking for something flashy is that flashy is am opinion. One may find touchwiz flashy while others may find sense or adw ex, or any other overlay 'flashy' 'dull' 'sexy' these are all very much in the opinion of the user. So to ask for a flashy rom can't really be adequately answered. And honestly I got addicted to using my sslauncher which I love the customization and fun attached to it. And it seems so far off the beaten path. I do miss the weather widget effects with sense. Probably the one thing I really miss. I personally believe out of the box, it's weak compared to the new touchwiz. Especially the notifications menu. And the lack of a settings/menu button.

The same reason why people put MiUi and AOSP ROMs on their phone. I don't understand why people question this.

This question could have easily been answered by taking a quick glance in the dev threads and checking out what ROMs we have. Its not like devs are hiding them :screwy::screwy:
Sense 4 is NOWHERE NEAR as nice as Touchwiz...IMO. Its hardly better than sense 3.6 which was hardly better than 3.5. There are sense 4 themes for aosp ROMs if you must have.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2

Just for the record, there is a team of people working to bring it to the US S3. They've done it already on the global version. If you look at the Global S3 thread, you find the group of guys responsible. From there, you can find their website and keep track of their progress... That is, if they're still working on it.

I would be reasonably happy with a sense themed Rom. They have touchwiz roms all over the place making your phone look like the gs3. I wonder why sense 4 theme(not port) hasn't been attempted(that I know of)

With sense 4 HTC made it a smaller ROM by removing a lo5 of visual features. Sense 3 was amazing. It had a 3D UI and beautiful widgets.

Phone quality impacted by ROM choice?

Our family has four Incredible 2's with Verizon. I am running Virtuous Unity 2.39 while the others are running stock (two rooted and one unrooted).
I feel I have the worse phone call quality, and am wondering if the ROM choice has any impact on this performance. If so, any ROM's that meet or exceed rooted stock?
Thanks.

Is the official ice cream sandwich update any good ?

I'm tired of being on gingerbread but I'm pretty much dome with custom roms. I've seen a lot of people bashing the update so I never touched it but apparently they sent out another update a few weeks ago. Did it make things worse? How is the smoothness and battery life compared to stock gingerbread.

I'm a little biased, but I agree. I personally do not care for themed roms. I would prefer to make small changes myself and if I want a little theming, there are a few good launchers out that provide the theming that I need.

Im trying calkulin's 1.6 ics fe22 rom in the original development section. Yes its old. Yes theres recalk. His fe22 and el29 may be old but they are stable and ive not had any snafus yet.
Every time I try ics its still buggy for me. Sometimes the capacitive buttons don't work for a couple seconds, or the weird visual glitch in the task manager. None of it seems worth the hassel. JB is the way to go imo with project butter this thing is bulletproof. Yea they are a bit unstable which I realize I just complained about, but I think jb is worth it because you actually gain something compared to the ics update, where really the only thing you get is access to a couple apps (chrome etc) and instability. It gets rid of all the nice cosmetic changes ics made, and covers them with touchwiz. For the bone stock user, yea the ics update adds functionality (very little) but if you're rooted ics is a waste of time. That and the fact that no one can theme a rom to make this phone not look like a toy anyway.

[Q] WebOS on the Galaxy S2?

Is it do-able? I know that things like the GNex, and an evo have gotten some of the open source versions of it, so why not us? How hard could it be?

Well, it all comes down to the willingness of a developer if he/she wants to port it or not. If you question the availability of porting webos, then you try porting it then.
Another option would be good, but at this point, why? With ics stable and jb stable around the corner, it really doesnt make sense for a dev to port it. Webos lacks alot compared to android.
