Just wondering if taking your phone in and out of a car dock with a usb charger on it would damage it? I will need a phone holder for my job to use as a satnav but am concerned if i take the phone in and out of the dock 3 or 4 times a day would it not wear out the usb port?
Example of type of car dock.

For all those who what to have their Gtab in their car and have both power and and HHD(USB) connected i have a simple concept.
Using the cable that connects the Galaxy tab to your power, add a switch that acually redirects the currect sent to the galaxy tab.and connect an extra female usb cable. No resistors needed no nothing :]
when using the USB the tab will not charge but i think it will have enought battery to play a few movies in the meanwhile.
Cheers ;]

$1.50 shipped. I am still hoping to find clear silicone plugs..
THere is a good reasn vast majority of new phones don't have sliders or built in covers for the micro usb, and NOTHING with a 3.5mm jack attempts to cover it. Not neccisary, I've never had a phone have ANY issues in either of those ports due to pocket lint.
Plus where you gonna put the plugs when you use those ports 5 times a day.
The images below show what was suppose to be a usb 3.0 to type-c otg adapter.
But this turned out to be faulty one.
So i took the outer shell apart but was stumped to find a chip inside.
Turns out all usb type-c pins need a chip to tell the cable to charge, transfer data or both.
Now i need anyone of your help to solder a cable on to the chip for the sole purpose of charging.
Thanks in advance.

Looking for a dock for my desk where I can set the phone onto the USB C port on the dock and it can transfer data to my computer.
Any suggestions?
All I see are wireless docks.
I used this on my Oneplus 7 Pro, it also supports Warp Charge
