[Q] reverting to ICS without nandroid backup - HTC One X

Hello,
I know there is many thread on how to reverting to ICS after testing JB, but they explain the method with a nandroid backup of ICS original ROM.
But is-there a tuto without nandroid backup ?
Thanks

Many.
RUU.

1-wrong section
2-many thread talk about this
3- run a ruu, remember to flash stock recovery and boot.img, also remember to use search next time

RUU wont work as it's mainversion will be older than the JB ROM.
Unless S-OFF once you're on JB you stay there.

The OTA's are being released this week. The RUU's will probably still take some time.

[Q] flashing the new OTA ?

So I just flashed my phone for the first time yesterday with a new rom and now I want to try the official OTA 1.28. How can I do that ? Should I flash the official 1.28 rom using the CWM recovery ?
Thanks

As you have Clockwork installed you cannot update OTA. If you want the 1.28 update now then you would need to relock your bootloader, flash the 1.26 RUU and then update OTA.
Otherwise you will just have to wait for the devs to update there roms with the new base.
Also waiting for an answer, im thinking maybe flashing a stock then relocking the bootloader should do it?
Annoying is it not!
Ok so i think i'll wait for the devs to update their roms. ty for your answer

Yep Bronco (mod for CWM thread) has confirmed
-reflash stock recovery
- relock
- restore RUU
you can still unlock and reflash CWM after that so I'm gonna do that, as long as I got my titanium its not too bad, just a bit lengthy

Be patient - within 48 hours we should start seeing custom roms with the 1.28 baseband

Sorry but could you define: refash stock recovery?
Cheers!

The above info is incorrect. You do not need to flash the stock recovery as the RUU will do this anyway. So just relock bootloder and run the RUU.

[Q] What to do if my HOX is not JB capable?

By miracle I've managed to save my HOX after flashing a new ROM.. I've flashed Android Revolution HD 9.7.2 [ICS], and I wanna have the JB.
My phone doesn't seem to have an update option [maybe the developer removed it?] and I've read that my CID isn't JB capable, nor my HBOOT.
Can I do something about it or I'm stuck?

Try and restore to stock if you want the JB update, but even then it's a case of just waiting!

What software number is it? if you can relock your bootloader after flashing the stock recovery, try and find a RUU for the 2.17 base, android 4.0.4 with sense 4.1 is a good base to use, if you are branded, you will need to find the correct RUU then simply wait for the update

[Q]How can I get to stock on 1.28 HBOOT?

Hi, I am going to sell my HTC One X soon, so I'd like to restore it to stock - or as close to stock as possible.
I have the new HBOOT (1.28) from those Jelly Bean leaks, so apparently I can't flash a RUU.
Is there a way to return to stock Android from HTC - or at least the stock version of a Jelly Bean leak?

No, it hasn't been released yet.
If you took a backup before flashing a custom ROM, you can restore that, its boot.img and recovery.
There is also a thread on how to use an RUU with an older hboot to extract the useful bits and flash them manually.
What? But then how were all those JB ROMs made? Can you at least point me to the one that's closest to stock, then?

I thought by untouched you meant signed. There is no signed version (well, unless an Elevate member leaked it since I last checked).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1966371 use that guide there. It worked for me and I now have stock ICS

[Q] is it possible to return back to stock ics after jb ota

i want to go back to stock ics after jb ota is it possible .my hox is locked.
Nope.
Sent from my EndeavorU using xda premium
Yes you can run a stock ICS rom after the update......when the phone is updated to jellybean you can unlock the bootloader and flash cwm recovery 5.8.4.0 and reflash an ics rom !
But for that you will have to unlock your phone (obvious)
Sent from my unlocked HTC One X using XDA premium.
oh....
means without unlocked no way
how

Correct ! You can use a stock rom that is taken as a nandroid backup . But ruu is impossible, we need s-off for that ! And we dot have that !

So am i, I'm running viper x. There are "stock" ics roms out there. Just check your cid and take a matching 2.17 based rom from the backup thread. Do a full wipe, flash the boot.img and restore the nandroid.
Voila a stock ics rom on a 1.36 Hboot.

[Q] Re-root and Customs Roms after OTA JB Update

Hi everyone,
Hopefully an easy question for those more experienced than I...
I have previously rooted my OneX and installed custom roms on ICS. I restored original rom, re-locked bootloader and flashed original recovery so I could install the JB update over the air. This all went smoothly.
I used over the air update as my CID wasn't on the list here (yet):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
I would like to re-root my device and start installing the custom JB roms. Can I just unlock the bootloader again, install CWM recovery, then start flashing the JB roms (and boot.img) as before, using this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592355
Or is there something I need to wait for?
Thanks,
Craig

I'm seeing something about HBoot in some of the custom roms. I can't seem to find a clear explination, but is this something that was updated when I updated OTA, or does it need to be modified again to run the custom roms?
Thanks,
Craig
So what i understand you are on stock JB at the moment ?
If so yes you can unlock, install custom recovery and flash JB roms the same way as you did on ics
You can check the top of the bootloader if it says hboot 1.31 or higher you are good to go
