WELCOME TO SLIM SERIES ROM'S
SLIM SERIES ROM's for Gio are inspired by the famous SLIM-ROM's by tchaari for all the High-end phones like, Nexus, S3 etc.
So I decided to emulate the ROM's for our Ace too.
Some big plus points or Observations according to me, from these highly-compressed and lite ROM's are =
1. Our phone has very less RAM to run ICS or JB in fully optimised manner. So these ROM's slightly fulfil that requirement. As the apps in these ROM's occupy very less RAM of around, 20 to 30 MB only !
2. Due to less RAM consumption, phone tends to be more responsive, smooth and faster !
3. Overall performance increases roughly around, 5 times !
4. If you are a benchmark believer, then AnTuTu scores were also slightly higher compared to the original ROM's
5. These lite ROM's along with any script like Adrenaline Engine, can boost your performance slightly higher.
6. These ROM's can be used as a daily driver, 100% !
7. Slim ROM's have slightly higher battery backup compared to the original ROM's. For me atleast, i.e; with minimal usage the phone lasts around =
Slim CM7 = 1day 13hours
Slim CM9 = 1day 4hours
Slim CM10 = 1day 1 or 2hours
Slim AOKP = 1day 3 to 4hours
NOTE - I use my phone only for phone calls and listening to music [A lot ! ]
8. So use these ROM's and decide what is best for you.

9. There's nothing great about these ROM's. BUT, their SIZE speaks for them !
Slim CM7 = 57 Mb
Slim CM9 = 75 Mb
Slim CM10 = 87 Mb
Slim AOKP JB = 80 Mb
10. I also wish to notify that, in future along with removal of bloatware, there might be significant changes in kernel specifically compiled for these minimal ROM's. I am still learning about Android so no promises, as this is all a pure-hobby, like everyone else's. . Also, i haven't touched framework a bit..

13. I have removed bloatware in to the maximum extent possible, but still if you feel there exists such an app which is useless, inform me, I will remove it
14. Finally, I ensure there was no warez used to create these ROM's
15. On a side note I removed all the boot-animations to conserve space. ICS & JB have their own in-built boot-splash. While in CM7 there is no such facility, the screen will be blank, so don't worry you did not brick your phone

its cm7 by marcin... don't know if its the latest, but i choose the one mentioned in his thread...if there's a newer version, inform me.
and all the roms are the latest and upto date roms.. there is no point in modding an outdated rom.
i will be uploading slim_cm9 shortly..

Hmm, so, I can say the Slim CM7 is the "bareboned" one of CM7 Marcin's ? What changes you made ?

Oh no... In Marcin CM radio does not work and the scrolling is slow, and some other bugs.

Marcin one is the best CM7 made for GIO. Only need to be a little modded. Add some tweaks and that's perfect.
Only to know, what kind of modifies do you apply to these roms?! I know that lot of people download them, but I want to know only what to you apport to them.

That's SetupWizard.apk, but it needs some APKs that (evidently) are missing. Gapps problem...

so it's cm7, like ele's cm7 rom, but built by the cdma hero cm7 developer instead of the gsm hero cm7 developer (ele). Interesting. There should be little difference I would think since the hardware is almost the same and I believe ele has talked with cdma folks in the past to share fixes and features both ways....
but it's worth trying this anyhow. hopefully the gps works at all, and is reliable and stable.

First impressions very good, very fast and responsive. Will test GPS navigation tomorrow. Would like an option for 2d gallery if possible. Thanks for the ROM, as fast a GB as I've used
I also experienced problem where it won't install some of the applications. Other than that pretty good rom, haven't tested GPS properly though, just for a few minutes.

all I can think of is the fact that CDMA hero has always had a much larger and more advanced dev team than gsm hero. There has frequently been some trickle-down of their concepts into our roms. Sometimes we're in the lead, but more often than not the real inventors have been working hard on the cdma side.
Maybe this is still true?
However I'm not in any way putting down the great devs and cookers who have kept gsm hero one of the most popular underground phones even now
Elelinux, erasmux, JieeHD, Riemer, Ninpo, rdejager, Feeyo, Pulser, robocik, RaduG...
and everyone else of course.

For those having troubles with apks installing, pushing them to system/app is a workaround for the time being (or so i have found ymmv)

Good battery life (from what I can see so far!), just make sure you're at 100% battery when you flash it!
The size is due to the fact that it is multi-device supported! Just flash it and then you can delete the original zip to free up space! Enjoy
if its Sense 3.5 is it fast enough for our Phone ?

Yeah, that's only if you choose the modified Sense 4 version! You get that option when installing with 4EXT

ok i have been using this rom almost the whole day now, and i am very disappointed in the performance.

SMS opening takes LONG
Dialer Opening takes LONG
and basically these are the two most important functions of the phone which are disturbingly slow.
Most importantly, my fiance is angry because aparently she texted me some stuff which my cell phone didnt receive. So I am guessing, yes texts went missing too.
No offence to the developers, I appreciate their work and i really wish to use it but once the issues have been resolved

Rom is working fine for me. And I never find a bug which not have in FXP cm10.

Cm10.1 RCs are rolling out but CM support for Ion (not FXP) ended on cm9 and there are no RCs for Ion as I see. But, as soon as FXP develops CM10.1 or RC roll out for Ion, I will make 4.2.2 version for Ion. Yes, there's no OTA update for now.

I think still FXP team can't find a way to make it work. So if it is a bug in CM10 then it will be in this ROM. I forgot to check whether it is working or NOT. Now I am on stock firmware

Oh. That just cooled me off from unlocking the BL :/
Since my contract includes unlimited texts, I use them a lot. Having a limit would be less useful (as I would have to send the next sentence in another sms :/ )
it would be nice if include the file manager for next version. it's important for people who use titanium backup. need to install apk without connecting to internet.

Would you please certify to me that you can type more than 160 characters while sending an SMS? It would be really nice.
Otherwise you can still make flashable CWM zips with Titanium Backup, so that you can flash a zip containing your file manager for example

The sms bug still there. Even fxp still can't solve it till now. There are numerous report about 160 character bug in their bug tracker. None of them are solve.

Q. Titanium Backup is not restoring apps.
A. Set your backup dir for Titanium Backup as ::
storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup
After setting backup dir, System will prompt to move your backups from previous dir to new correct one.
Then proceed with restoring backups.

With stock browser, its not possible. Each time you need to select the desktop version by clicking okn 3dot menu.
If you use 3rd party browsers, its possible. For ex- Opera

ok, quick update......running this release since it was out and ive had no problems whatsoever, this is defo recomended to anyone whith a tf300t, ive been running custom roms for about 9 months and this has got to be the best.only thing i cannot tell you about is external keyboard but im sure someone will.Looking forward to future releases very very happy thank you.

actually there is a screenshot of a nexus 7. which is pretty much not a mobile phone.
Why should he post screenshots of slimbean rom running on a tf300t? it looks almost the same on every single device.

I will only say this ::
If you decide whether to flash a rom by checking the disclaimer portion, then iam afraid you have registered in the wrong forum buddy.
As per my understanding, XDA is a forum for devs and those "users" who are willing to learn and share help the devs with their bug reports , share ideas etc.
You should remain with stock that your manufacturer stick it up to you.

YES, you are correct. The link is not working.

You can use any 4.3 gapps infact, the only benefit of slim gapps is that you get TRDS with those.

Yea, I was thinking about that but... it's kinda hard to make such poll. For instance, I checked most of the ROMs from that list, but still can't decide which one is the best. Presently I'm using Shpongle and I like it but... the camera doesn't work and because of that (and only that, well HALO too ) I'm looking for another alternative. But if someone comes with a great idea about the poll I'm open mind.

But the thread it's in has 2 ROMs. The MIUI JB V5 and the MIUI V4 Sense-based which is Sense 4.1 [4.0.4] based and has an internal version of 3.2.22.

CM9-KangBang is 4.0.4 ，and [2013/07/12]MIUI JB v5 3.7.12[OTA] /MIUI Sense v4 3.2.22 CSE FINAL of sk8erboy， has two ROM，one is MIUI JB v5 3.7.12 other is MIUI Sense v4 3.2.22 CSE，maybe you can change this

You mean mobile browser? It's not very convenient because mobile browsers scale graphics (especially wide) but if you zoom you should be able to see sufficient details.
